carefree times, just dancing & buzzing with your pals at T in The Park '96. Cast, Pulp, Black Grape & Kula Shaker. The Slam tent was cool!! why did i have to grow up????? the memories never fade & those we lost are still with us, they never go. 💯💚🙏

The 90's - that magical moment in history when mainstream pop and indie music were both bloody good listening. Now you have to dig so much more to get to the good stuff :D
The best music of the '90s wasn't even know to many, it was almost underground. The mainstream pop and indie just summed up a cliched existence for people that were happy to aimlessly follow a crowd of generic thinkers.

For me it was a very good time the end 80 and 90. Why frenchies didn.t know this band ? Brit pop is and was the best ! Thank to post these vidéos.
You are 'young french' my friend, never old! It's just an illusion. We're all youths pretending to be adults to get by in an adult world! Music, Art (the good stuff) brings back the simple things we lose along the way, like the appreciation that it's there!
VikkiMinaj1 Not the only one, no stress, epic tunes, gorgeous lasses (girls) if I’d known it was gonna end, I would have been to every bloody concert going, seen Oasis 7 times now, a record for me but I still have not seen 2 I thought I would have by now, Ocean Colour Scene & the Seahorses, I could name more but list would be never ending. Tons & bucket loads of Talent, Talent, Talent
WHAT a debut album....Top 5 90's record. What an era to have grown up in. Gazelles, jeans , cigs, checkered shirt, rain mack , guitar & indie hair & none of this P.C bullsh*t
I never was really a CAST fan boy in the 1990's. But in 2015 i went to a live gig at KU BAR in the Humble town of Stockton on Tees. Cast were great. And even though i couldnt have told you any names of their tunes, when they played their tune's, i knew them instantly. Like a track list to my childhood. Or to explain better....A track list to the best days of my life. The AMAZING 1990's.
Wow.... what a moment in time!!! (all the best music came from up north, with so many great bands.... but, this sticks in my mind (other (brilliant!!) bands are/were available)... just love this...!
Just seen the Top of the Pops 90'S on BBC2 Such Power in Power's songs..and such a Great band...wish I'd seen them live when I bought the 1st album! Still time I guess if they still tour..but a different experience coming up to my 50th!
I love seeing this group get on with it, free from the petulant smothering pretentious perfectionism of Mavers. Music is finest when its carefree and beautiful, and even effortless.
Cast were born outta the La's ,There she goe's etc, circa 1989 just weeks before The Stone Roses and much before Oasis.Oasis maybe the best band of the 90's 00's and so on,but take nothing away from Cast they are legends and great musicians too. in comparison of say Beatles to the Kinks ,You've Oasis and Cast ,all have there place,I love all Rock n Pop especially. But without John Power well; he just complements BRIT POP in a beautiful way.A Band that every one should have in there record collection.
Dave I've seen lot of bands 100s of gigs diff bands live stone Rose's are the best the atmosphere is so good pal cast are close second to them I'm seeing cast 19th dec in lpool will be 7th time seeing them hope I get to 20 😎👌
Both Noel and Liam have nothing but nice things to say about Cast/John Power. Liam said in an interview with Whitey in 95 that Cast were one of his favourite bands, and very recently on twitter spoke well of John.
Tiny snippets of this song began seeping back into my brain over the last few days. I couldn't remember much of the song or the even the band who sang it. Now I've found it, I remember taping the video for this off telly onto VHS as a teenager. I definitely remember drooling over their cool guitars!
Grew up listening to you guys music is my life and I have some incredible memories from listening to you all. You are awesome and your music will forever live in my heart. Brilliant all of your tracks. Just sooo good. ❤
Sorry, have been away on planet Zircon. Just heard this brilliant piece of music, in the year of 2020. In my 70s, but LOVE. See, not all 'ancient ones' are fogeys.
Without doubt and in my opion the best Brit Pop band. John Power is an extrodinary and exceptional song writer. I know Oasis where the biggest but i didn't like them I have come to appreciate their music more as time has gone by. But Cast for me were incredable.
It sounds upbeat but it's partly a melancholic song, particularly The La's version. (This one, along with Follow me Down, was performed but not released by The La's. John Power also wrote Sandstorm and Fine Time during The La's). If you listen to the lyrics of many Cast songs, they are arguably disappointment / fascination with the magic yet the constraints of being in The La's with Lee Mavers and the courage needed to 'walk away'. "You never even tried" (well, he did - but Mavers telling the public not to buy the album..) It wouldn't be surprising if Lee Mavers was the 'Guiding Star', or a major one in John Power's life. John still talks fondly of Lee's genius but 5 years playing mostly the same 12 songs must have been a little annoying. To date, there are actually over 60 known La's songs. Please see my channel for a second La's album.

I think it’s great how they got their name. From the final lyric of the last song on the only album by The La’s...”The change is cast”

But the change wasn't Cast it was Oasis!
And their first album... "All Change".

A lot of the 90s music could also be mistaken for 70s such as this song. I was both in 89 so got to embrace a lot of it
