loler sup Mark Radcliffe summed it up perfectly when he introduced Oasis on the White Room concert-"They write great songs on their own and borrow good bits from other people's"
My fondest sound growing up as a boy in the 90s is hearing these British giants blairing out on the radios turns out Oasis is the sound of my life. Proud to the bone to be British
"Need a little time to wake up! Need a little time to wake up, wake up!" I've been belting out these lyrics in innumerable locations for nearly thirty years. Such is the magnetism of Oasis!
There's something so effortlessly cool about this song and video. I love the way the band is casually jamming away through the chaos outside, as Liam chills on the bed and Noel kicks away the camera like a badass. So cool.
The most aggressive song in Whats The Story, a call to live life. There is no depression for this song, it was just Rock N Roll, pure and heavy. At all the Oasis concerts I went to, including their solo careers, Morning Glory's presentation collapsed the fans, the music has the magnitude of an earthquake. A masterpiece that bears the name of the album.
Funny you should say that, I was at Liam’s gig three nights ago and this is how it went: he comes out, starts out by doing Hello which is epic and everyone’s excited, he then launches into rock n roll star and the crowd are getting nice and warmed up and well into it. The band then blasts into this tune and everyone GOES NUTS. We all collectively moved forward, and started jumping and screaming the lyrics. Literally experienced what you described there 😄

I have been through a terrible year. My closest football mate, Lewis took his own life 27/08/24. Me and him loved listening to Oasis on route to away days with our beloved Burnley. He was the reason I loved the football, meeting up with him, in the back of the coaches on 7 hour drives to most random places possible. I woke up this morning to the news that I am going to be seeing Oasis 20th of July at Heaton Park. Liam and Noel are the reason I am alive, Oasis are the reason I haven't took my own life. It is heartbreaking that one of Lewis' biggest dream was to see Oasis before he died. He will be at the gig with the best view possible, in the sky. Fucking miss you, Lewis lad. Away days in 2025 won't be the same without you.

They're literally some of the best written pop songs you've ever heard. I love Liam's voice he's one of the few British singers that almost sings with an accent I like that to like a British accent. These guys with the Beatles of my generation

I agree, these video views here, only on this official oasis channel also add towards sales, as well as streaming on spotify. This album is on about 26 million right now, in few years if people keep streaming on spotify this album will soon be on 30 million.
I think at least 10 of their songs would be in the billions, 25 years is a long time and oasis was HUGE. The 90s was like the 60s, there was a cultural shift, and metal, punk, and hair bands were replaced by grunge, rock, and roll and pop were taking over. there is no performer today that is as big as Oasis, Nirvana, and others from back then. it's really a time I wish kids of today had got the chance to enjoy. I bet they could come back right now and perform and would sell out even the biggest venues. When Chris martin sang don't look back in anger at the manchester event in front of all those teens who weren't even born yet when the song came out, but still knew every word. Watching the American performers just staring dumbfounded gave me chills,. that would be like 60k 15-year-olds in 1995 knowing every word to a song from the 60s being sung by a different artist in a crowd that is there to see a performer from a different genre.
I will never forget hearing the track on the definitely maybe album and it blew me away so much i always ended my own set with this beautiful song but when i heard this version it absolutely floored me an absolute beautiful song
This songs vibe is so melancholic, regretful, still thoughtful and powerful, like someone regretting mistakes, but willing to reborn next day and try again. Not their most famous song, but my favorite.
Nothing makes me more proud of my own self-existence than being a teenager when WTSMG was released, I could have been 18 on a gig in the UK but being 12 or 13 abroad is just more than enough for me. What a time to be alive.

I think this is my favourite Oasis song, there's a slightly different energy to it I can't put my finger on. The drums sound kind of quite, which gives it a weird vibe, the guitar riff is quite different to their usual style. The way the song builds is perfect, with the "need a little time to wake up" part as a sort of pre chorus, leading to the "whats the story morning glory.." part, they just keep cranking up the energy of the song, then the pause before the guitar solo bursts in after the first chorus (not the usual place for a solo), it keeps the momentum of the song going higher still. The lyrics are evocative and amusing, and full of character, delivered perfectly by liam. The whole thing has an effortless quality to it, brilliant.
They were that good, people just took this music for being the standard for the 90s. Looking at back at those times and what came after, makes you realise how utterly brilliant they actually were. He wrote an absolute sack full of pure British rock n roll anthems. They defined a generation.
For most bands this would be the greatest song they have ever done. For Oasis, it was just another great track on another great album.
ya man, stealing chord progressions and melodies will afford you with a lot of great stuff. good artists write, great ones steal ;)

Una canción increíblemente buena como todo lo que Oasis tocó. Increible que sigan llenándome de emociones
They've finally woken up and are reuniting after 15 years.
Because they are broke arrogant knobs!!
This is my alarm melody :-) my husband hates it but it's the best way to wake up in the morning.
Lol
hdmat101 miss dis time
That's why they call it morning glory
ladymay30 i did the same exact thing! lol
+ladymay30 not taking the piss, your husband should be honoured to sleep next to you. This is one of the greatest songs ever written.
Incredible lead guitar, throughout the the whole song, I can listen to it over and over. A little buried in the mix, yet so awesome!

Made my year a whole lot better OASIS ARE BACK
This is the song that introduced me to Oasis. Sure I heard songs from their first album, but this was when I SPECIFICALLY noticed them.
Same here mate, saw it on TV completely blew me away.
They were that good, people just took this music for being the standard for the 90s. Looking at back at those times and what came after, makes you realise how utterly brilliant they actually were. He wrote an absolute sack full of pure British rock n roll anthems. They defined a generation.

I don't listen to Oasis a lot, but I do love this song definitely one of their best
