in the 90's they were somewhat overlooked in the press (ie, the Social Media of the time, for the younger ones watching) because all that attention was on Oasis, the Roses and Charlatans et al, needless to say, this song stands up there with the best of it's time, a classic, thank you fellas
Nice one ladz on ya No1 album...This song is evidence of the magic riffs and lyrics of Rick and Banksy....l love Shed Seven.....they write such memorable tunes....long may they reign......!!!!!
Saw them last night in Brighton and they’re still as fresh and fantastic as they ever were…if you get a chance see them live, you won’t be disappointed!
I remember being introduced to The shed 7 drummer blind drunk not knowing who he was at the back of the Verve gig at v98 Leeds, he was so cool and down to earth I said I was going to see them the following week at the reading festival, he said he would look out for me although sure it was tongue in cheek. Nice one Alan Leech
Its mad to think Shed 7 in 2024 have just had there first number 1 album. And Liam Gallagher and John Squire are number 1 in the charts with just another rainbow. Love this song and band so much. Nothing beats the best decade for youth culture. The 90's were amazing
Technically 'Cool Britannia' was 1997 and perhaps a bit after - it was a Blair pre-election social marketing strategy, which worked admirably and just happened to line up with most of us having money in our pockets for the first time.
I feel like i can relate to this to this song because im starting GCSE's in September, so I've suddenly realised how different life is now to 5 years ago
I've listened to this track a million times NICE ,but until today never seen the video ! After I've watched this a million times I'll leave another comment.....I may be some time 😁
I never said never ever You took the words right out of my mouth Is the sea your sunshine have we been told The sea is you lifeline you're going for gold You took the words right out of my mouth Time and time and time again I look to me my only friend Time and time and time again Are you here for my pleasure Or are you going for gold Are you going for gold I never said never ever You took the shine right out of my smile Is the moon your nighttime have you been sold The moon is your lifeline you're going for gold You took the shine right out of my smile While my mind is blind again I look to me my only friend Time and time and time again Are you here for my pleasure Or are you going for gold Are you going for gold
This was going to be played after the 1996 Euros semi-final if England had beaten Germany. I predict ITV plays it in the post-game montage on Weds if England win.
Well done the Chiefs. Let's be honest here though. Shed 7 are the best band to come out of Leeds. I'm just proud of all of them. Marching on together X
Personally, I think this comment is pretty much spot on, but still I kinda like this song. There were a lot of hangers on and and second raters around then , but I don't begrudge them their 15 minutes.
From the wonderful days of Raving through to the wonderful rock n roll from these bands as mentioned above. Awesome decade to be out there without a care in the world. Everything was so much simpler then. ✌️👍✌️
Shed Seven is Great

Congrats guys on being this week's UK No.1. Well deserved and finally got the gold.
I loved reading this comment! Best era of British music 😊
Underrated one of the best bands about
BRING BACK THE 90s
Damn...good old 90's bands,proper tunes,still great.🎵👍
Nice one ladz on ya No1 album...This song is evidence of the magic riffs and lyrics of Rick and Banksy....l love Shed Seven.....they write such memorable tunes....long may they reign......!!!!!
Yorks best brilliant track one of many other great songs
Saw them last night in Brighton and they’re still as fresh and fantastic as they ever were…if you get a chance see them live, you won’t be disappointed!
I know this is a 6 month old thing - good to know though!
Saw em Monday in stoke on trent. So good!
Shed Seven, Oasis, Charlatans, and Verve are the soundtrack to my kid life. 💯🔥✌️
Totally. Still listening to the classics. Stay safe
Ditto
Egg
Same along with Blur, Radiohead, Pulp, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Primal scream
Imagine having. One direction. Littlemix, etc as your childhood memories. 😢 Sad.
What a time for music, so lucky to have experienced it 90 to 97 from 15 to 21. Luved it
What happened from 1998 onwards then ?
It’s only us that gets old, the music never does, Classic and always will be, thanks

Yup. I’m so thankful to have grown up in the 90’s. 😁
Well said :)
Absolutely 90s Gold
Brilluant band. So under rated.
Tooche lorraine
Haven’t heard this for so long, loved it then and it’s still as good now.
Just watched their set on radio 2 in the park, it's like I'm 13 again ❤
I was surprised this currently only has 2,256 views
... but then I noticed it was only uploaded just under a month ago.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
what a song from 96!
This was last of Cool Britannia and the common man's Gold decade 😎👌
COOL #RollingStone 90s style Look😎
Technically 'Cool Britannia' was 1997 and perhaps a bit after - it was a Blair pre-election social marketing strategy, which worked admirably and just happened to line up with most of us having money in our pockets for the first time.
Timeless & beautiful!! Love you guys!! xxx
Absolute classic!!!!
Bully boy , chasing rainbows , burn this disco down ,,,grrrreat tunes !
Brilliant band.
Still sounds epic ❤
This sounds like a sunny Saturday morning.
Saw these at Latitude festival this year, they were incredible! Very tight band and the front man is an absolute lad 👊🏻
Todas las canciones de Shed Seven son sensacionales!!! ojalá vengan a tocar alguna vez a Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!son los mejores!!!
Would love to hear this magnificent score played by a full orchestra. It’s amazing without the words which are equally fantastic.
Only bettered by Chasing Rainbows
Gets better with age this song.. superb 👏👏
I feel like i can relate to this to this song because im starting GCSE's in September, so I've suddenly realised how different life is now to 5 years ago
Reminds me of TFI Friday
Back in 1996 when Britain still felt like Britain
This song makes me feel great!
Loved this song
Still sounds GOLD :)
The opening riff always makes me think "I'm caught in a trap " follows it
Let's play "Rip off or Inspired by"
For me it's I've got a feeling by the Beatles.
When the media were pissing in their pants over Blur and Oasis Shed Seven had a top selling album in the UK.
Who can hate this?? Every rip-off going and great as a result!!!
one of the best british pop rock song
Not gonna lie ... I forgot all about these guys.
I was looking for something that was actually shed related. I wish I could go back to the early 90's.
You can have my garden shed for 50 quid if you want 😁
The best part is when the horns 1:31 come into the chorus
I've listened to this track a million times NICE ,but until today never seen the video ! After I've watched this a million times I'll leave another comment.....I may be some time 😁
loved this by shed seven, it reminds me of my mother and ex girlfriend.
Are they the same person?
2020 in lockdown still a fucking classic.....the brass at the end!!
Yes!
綺麗な映像で観れるのはええなぁ!
I never said never ever
You took the words right out of my mouth
Is the sea your sunshine have we been told
The sea is you lifeline you're going for gold
You took the words right out of my mouth
Time and time and time again
I look to me my only friend
Time and time and time again
Are you here for my pleasure
Or are you going for gold
Are you going for gold
I never said never ever
You took the shine right out of my smile
Is the moon your nighttime have you been sold
The moon is your lifeline you're going for gold
You took the shine right out of my smile
While my mind is blind again
I look to me my only friend
Time and time and time again
Are you here for my pleasure
Or are you going for gold
Are you going for gold
Doesn't mean a thing to me, but it hardly matters. Great song.

Shed 7
I got a feelin….
😂😂 #beatles
Good frontman!
This was going to be played after the 1996 Euros semi-final if England had beaten Germany. I predict ITV plays it in the post-game montage on Weds if England win.
Instead we had to "walk away"
❤️👌❤️👌
Nice one
this is actually my anthem when i' dont have money
Well done the Chiefs. Let's be honest here though. Shed 7 are the best band to come out of Leeds. I'm just proud of all of them. Marching on together X
They're from York, you muppet. Enjoy your march back to the championship league.
They are from York , mate
@@kdwskdws You learn something everyday. Cheers mate.
Henry Kelly on going for gold brought me here ... only joking😂
Thought this was by Oasis for the longest time lol. Both bands rock
Henry Kelly
But a golden girl knows when he’s kissed her. It’s the kiss of death...
I never don’t sing this. I can’t not.
1995
if we had a time machine then that's the first number getting plotted. when ya know ya know
Can you imagine him teaming up with Noel g
Aquí oigo "suspicious maind - Elvis Presley"
Peak, why they gotta add distortion, sounded amazing with the Jangle tone at the start, they shoulda just kept it throughout the whole song.
Ricky Gervais show brought me here
Brilliant track. Not sure how they avoided a law suit from the Beatles however. That opening riff is a faster version of I’ve got a feeling.
Like Music Oasis
is it michelle clack painted gold or am i lying to myself?
Henry Kelly did well.
Aka: Shit 7.
Kinda sounds like Oasis...I said kinda. DOn't take it personal
Blatant rip-off of “Jessica” by the Allman Brothers at the beginning
Shut up
Poor man's charlatans, who are also a poor man's stone roses
...then I'd hate to be the rich man.
Dickhead
They were all worth a mention. Relax.
Personally, I think this comment is pretty much spot on, but still I kinda like this song. There were a lot of hangers on and and second raters around then , but I don't begrudge them their 15 minutes.
@@grahamjennings7761 you talking about yourself
Can I go back to 1996 what a time , girls no bills , party’s , no Facebook brilliant
Maybe you should go back to school and learn how to spell.
Yes my mate MADCHESTER ❤
The golden years 👌
❤1987
Joss
Back in the days being 21 without a care in the world . Memories
What a great decade to be alive 1990-1999
Absolutely. The greatest decade in history.
Bettered only by the 80s
O yes
Sorry to hear you passed away.
From the wonderful days of Raving through to the wonderful rock n roll from these bands as mentioned above. Awesome decade to be out there without a care in the world. Everything was so much simpler then. ✌️👍✌️
We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out. Because I love you too much baby.
More than a passing resemblance 😆
They sing it like that at gigs with a segue in to caught in a trap
I thought I was the only one ahahha
One of the tracks that defines the 90s imho ❤
