The Afros of the 70’s were phenomenal.
Yeah they were. Well, my brother-in-law had a very, very good afro and that was in the late 90's, early 2000's. It was no technically "in fashion'" but everyone loved it.
And the bell bottom pants that covered your shoes...landlines and you better be home before streetlights come on 😉.
When I first saw him on a paid programming, I couldn't help thinking he looked like Jules from Pulp Fiction.
Yes! ❤
Can't go into not one modern barbershop and get it cut. 10 brotha's walk in 10 going to walk out with octagon's, pentagon 's, and gumbies . The soul is gone in real-time. Unapologetically ,Reparations heals.
I was 12 years old in 1974. I didn't have a great childhood. Songs like this helped get me through. Billy Preston was awesome
me too
I was 5 years old hahaha but heard his music on the radio when I was 10 years old.
I was 11 and remember this well. Dominated the radio on the way to school
I hope your life is great now. I always loved the music when I was a teen. The 70s
Yes, he was awesome but he had a rough time too. A really rough time, from what I read and hear. I'm glad you made it through. Life is hard. Peace to you.
Billy Preston = The Fifth Beatle
Wrong
Yes, because he played on three songs.
Yeah, I believe it was Lennon who said that if there was a 5th Beatle it would be Preston, and also Preston is the only artist credited in a Beatles song
@@TheLarryBrown
Actually 5 songs.
"Get Back" - Billy Preston played the electric piano.
"Don't Let Me Down" - He contributed on the electric piano.
"Something" - He played the organ.
"I Want You (She's So Heavy)" - He played the organ.
"The Long and Winding Road" - He played the electric piano.
Both Billy Preston and George Martin were referred to as "The 5th Beatle". I always thought Martin had the better claim as his influence permeated almost everything they did.
Every night, my neighbor listens to this song...
I make sure of it.
😂😂😂
Hahaha ❤
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Black music in the 50s/60s/70s was THE best
This guy is so happy he's making me happy!
As a college graduate with a degree in math, I can confirm that nothing from nothing does leaves nothing.
Im staring at 18 empty beer bottles and they came from something!....
The fun and pure happiness in the music is so great

@@soiko1784 Real happiness
So much enthusiasm!
That is homosexual glee on his face.
"Preston did not publicly come out as gay until just before he died..."--> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Preston
Uplifting song. Pure joy. Haven't heard it for maybe 45 years or so. All da best from USSR/Russia
Why can't people be happy like this anymore?
It hurts a lot. I do it anyway. I cry a lot. Crying don't bother me. What I cry about very truly do.
Society makes ya dumbo en la cabeza...
What does that even mean?
thats deep bro
access to drugs
You can see the man has so much rythm it leaks into his afro.
No wonder his afro is so big and fluffy. :o
That afro is a Masterpiece!
YEP!
Hahhaha that's hilarious. Yep so much soul and happiness
A soul brother with a soulful hair
He could make everyone happy but himself.
He was a child prodigy who was probably in his mid 20s here. I was 6 in 74' and I heard his music a bit later in life. RIP Billy Preston. (1946 - 2006) 🎹❤
My word, his eyes shine like the sun.
that happens when you're really friggin' high. No judgement.
Thank you for the awesome song Billy Preston.
My brother used to sing this song when he was alive. May he rest in peace ❤
It's so cool being able to open up a video and see this again. One of the better parts of technology.
I'm 65 and I still listen this music. It was popular in 60, 70, I don't know 80s
and soon you will be 66. Congrats !😅
How many keyboard players do you need Billy?
Billy: Yes.
All of them.
he only needed one, himself, but he graciously allowed the others to join in.
🤣🤣🤣
He probably wants one more 💯
Ruben, I'm so glad I didn't have any food in my mouth when I read your comment. It would have all been splattered out when I laughed!
AHHHHHHH the good old days!!! Lots of fun and great music!!!!!!
Can one Afro have so much fun? Billy's pure joy in just being there, singing, is contagious.
That afro is so intense that it's as if the afro is sporting Billy rather than Billy sporting the afro!
One of the best afros and he had it for a long time
It’s as if the Afro and Billy were symbiotic in nature. Both needed each other..
I have to wonder about anyone who doesn't love this song.
I saw Billy perform this when he was touring with George Harrison during the Dark Horse tour in 1974. ✌🏼🎶
We need joyful music like this again. He was such a lovely person.
Such contagious smiles. Especially from he and his drummer 😁😆
can't do nothing but bob your head and smile with this song.
As far as a solo artist, to me this is emblematic of who Billy Preston was as an artist, what a wonderful wonderful pop hit
Thanks Mr Preston for your music❤
Smiles, hi Doris 🤗

This man was a genius and had a great smile, talent and charisma. We miss you Billy!! Thank you so much for posting this!
Billy Preston had such a great energy about him..love it.
He really did and you can feel his joy and energy on his music and watching him perform brings me joy. His smile is infectious and help is always smiling. I remember seeing him on tv as a little kid and just being drawn into his performance and his energy. I was only 5 or 6 but it stuck with me. I don't even think I knew what his name was
Yeah, very apparent in Get Back.
That horn arrangement
is killer. Ah, baby!
Man, does this song say it all!? What do you think haters, cheaters and liars?
Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
You gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me
Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
You gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me
I'm not tryna be your hero
'Cause that zero is too cold for me, brrr
I'm not tryin' to be your highness
'Cause that minus is too low to see, yeah
Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
And I'm not stuffin', believe you me
Don't you remember I told ya
I'm a soldier in the war on poverty, yeah, yes, I am
Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
You gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me, oh baby
Nothin' from nothin' leaves nothin'
You gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me
That's right, ha yeah
Gotta have somethin' if you wanna be with me
You gotta bring me somethin', girl, if you wanna be with me
Real musicians playing real instruments! No sampling, no autotune, no computers!!!
A great number, full of soul, from the final "Fifth Beatle." Thank you, Billy! Rest in peace.

I have always loved this song. Great playing, great singing, great energy and catchy as can be. What more could you want? Billy Preston was an incredible talent!
Not many beatles left.
What a fun find for my '74 high school reunion playlist!.
So much funk it grew out of his head.
Hahhagahhahahaahahahaha
I felt that
Billy preston was great
A genius!
Still is great
some say hes the 5th beatle
*if this doesn't brighting and uplift you then may the GOD LORD BLESS YOU bc you're dead inside👼🏿✊🏿👍🏿*
Amen 🙌
Such energy in his music! Nice to see him in with the Beetles later in years, "My sweet Lord". Such talent!
It’s spelt Beatles you dumb pos
I miss these days when the music was good. This was one of my all-time favorites of his.
I do too, despite being a youngen. There's still good music being made, but it's not broadcasted or popularized like it was in the 70s. My single favorite decade of music. So many gems from funk, to soul, to rock, & to jazz. I'd give half of my lifespan to have been a teen or 20 something during the 70s.
Thankfully, we still have great funk artists like Louis Cole, Cory Wong, Vulfpeck, and Antwuan Stanley carrying the torch. I'm grateful for how technological advances have made the lives of independent artists easier and given them more room for success.
How could you watch these guys and not feel happy?
RIGHT!! I love it!
If you know the story of his life maybe.. That could depress you a bit
Billy was such a huge talent and this is probably my favorite song from him!
Space Race was outta this 🌎 😂😁
Will run round in circles
I think Billy's dancing in "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is exquisite. His moves were so graceful. And I love hearing him sing, "Get Back"! That is my favorite memory of Billy. And I agree he was a huge talent.

I love this video.
I didn't know that Billy had filmed this. But yeah 😊 that is me.
Respect. Which one are you? Do you still play?
He is related to my father. We're actually cousins.i don't know him in person but my dad and him are actually cousins. This man has good music
Still listening it with pleasure here in Bulgaria,
just like 50 years earlier...
Good time with Billy..
Nothing from Nothing was released in August 1974 with a steady climb until reaching #1 on the Billboard Top 100 for 1 week in October becoming Billy Preston's 2nd solo chart topper following his 1973 hit "Will it Go Round in Circles"
This was my favorite song for two years. Billy undoubtedly is one of the greatest musicians ever. He will always remain one of my favorites.
His so wonderful and beautiful...what an artist and piano player. My fifth Beatle!!
What a song. What a songwriter. What a great live performer.
The trifecta.
That Afro is Legendary!
IMPRESSIVE ENERGY!!!
Yea🎉❤
That Room was Jam packed.
I was introduced to this song thanks to the "Be Kind Rewind" movie... It's been almost 15 years, and I can't get enough...
I never saw anyone smile as much as Billy Preston has all of his life in films.
The 5th beatle! BILLY PRESTON!
American horror GOREY yes.
One of _many_ Fifth Beatles..
@@Drchainsaw77 The fifth Beatle was George Martin. He played piano in several songs, before Paul did. Besides, he was the producer.
Jeff Lynn wouldn't totally disagree
American horror GOREY more like the 6th... lets not forget about Pete Best
This man was pure talent
Thankyou daddy for the good music you raised me on..rip 2013😥❤️
Sounds like you were raised right .
One BAD musician and cool cat right there!! And look at that fro bruh!! Some great days, with great music right there! And I can even remember it, imagine that!! Peace y'all!
This song fit in perfectly with 70s pop music. Great song.
This is some of the greatest American music ever recorded!
Congratulations to Billy Preston on his 2021 Rock Hall nod. I truly feel one of the most underrated artist of the 20th century. From his solo career to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton to mention but a few a genius among man.
I went back and watched the first episode of SNL this week trying to find something new to watch, and I came across this guy in it and I'm so impressed! Man this gets in your head really well too
It's been forty-eight years? Much respect!
I can't believe I haven't heard this song before...I'm 53......Billy, you're the man!
After all these years, decades, I finally get to see what this group looks like, cool.
That Afro can only be described as cosmic.
Right On !
This should have happened a long time ago! But glad he's in!
Musical genius!
Fun Fact for those who don't know: Billy Preston was there playing keyboard with the Beetles in their famous impromptu last concert on top of the Apple Corps roof. He was friends with George Harrison.
Some call him the fifth Beatle
Un dia gris , se pinta de colores con esta canción. Grande Billy por siempre.❤
Ciento por ciento
Y ahoy era completamente gris.

Can't help but smile everytime I hear this song. Absolute genius.
Great music.

Never saw the video...the dudes look so unscathed n cool. Great song🎉
Back when music was so enjoyable and people like the legendary Billy Preston knew how to make it stand the test of time. Thanks Billy for the gift you left for us. R.i.P.
Was just watching a documentary about Beatles in 60 minutes and heard about Billy Preston. Was never a fan of the Beatles and had never heard of Billy Preston . But when they mentioned his song "Nothing from Nothing", it took me back. Never knew who wrote/sang it until now. Brings back some childhood memories of this playing in the radio. Fun song!
Most impressive though is that afro! The real deal?!? Could have gone my entire life without a haircut and I couldn't have gotten all that.
The super afro was rumored to be a wig.
I love everything about this video 😁😍
This is absolutely amazing
👍magic 10 thumbs up,
Needed to hear this my brother pass away his birthday was yesterday Been a rough year for me
You will always miss him but the good memories will help you accept the loss and heal.

This song brings me so much joy when listening. I love this song!!!!!
