Thank you Brother Shaun for the very kind words as I am very grateful;) I had the privilege to play with Mr. Merle a few months before his passing...a private 2 hour "just him & a 15 year old kid" backstage pickin' session where I had a chance to "learn from a Master" before his show in Hendersonville, Tennessee way back 1983...a musical treat I will remember the rest of my life.
I spent a very little time with Jerry Reed...never with a guitar in our hands...but talking fishing & music...and to this day...he is absolutely one of my favorites of All-time.
Thank you again...and my prayers to you, your family and friends...
      Sincerely I am...Dan;)

Boogie down Brother Dan the Man! I have an fr10 and love it to pieces. Pretty sure you’ll enjoy that 12. Smokin’ hot pickery right there. I’m going back to the woodshed. 😊

Thank you for the very kind words Emperor Jones & for watching;) The 12 is starting to get "dialed in" with my pedal configuration...I'll be posting a video soon regarding the necessity to "hit the front end" of the FR-12 with a "Line Signal" level...not an "Instrument Signal" level...the most important "tech spec" regarding it's input;) My prayers to you, your family and friends...Sincerely I am...Dan;)

I'm use to a Doc Watson or Tony Rice style on that tune. I've never heard it played like that. I loved it! Also loved the Jerry Reed lick. Sounds like what he did with Dylan's song don't think twice. It takes double thinking on a lick like that and you did it beautifully. Thanks Brother Dan

Thank you for listening Brother Rodney and the very kind words;) There is a wonderful version of Jerry's version of the Dylan classic "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" performed "live" with Chet Atkins...you may have seen it...but if not...you can find it here on UA-cam...and I know you will enjoy it;)

The American Sound pedal seems great. I will probably get one to emulate an overdriven Fender. The American sounds seems to do the light overdriven Fender tone all the way to the spitting, farting, tweed on the edge of blowing up - from videos I've seen. My only other Joyo pedal is a RAT clone, made very well, which is actually really versatile. Called "The Splinter". I was relearning the "Eastbound and Down" solo - funny timing, love Jerry Reed. Sounds amazing as always Dan!

Brother Guy...thank you for watching & the kind words.
This "amp sim" pedal format is new to me & I am extremely impressed by the results the Joyo American is giving to me. The "MOST IMPORTANT" element in using the this pedal with additional pedals (i.e. Nobels, Boss EQ, Comp, Reverb & Delay) is it should be LOCATED AT THE END of YOUR CHAIN which will provide a "LINE SIGNAL" level to your interface.
If you are using an "amplifier"...no issues. If you are using a "cabinet" designed for these "amp sim" pedals...CRITICAL.
I will be doing a video on this and what I have experienced to get to "where" I needed to be...after making a few "technical mistakes" that I wasn't aware I was making.
The tones are abundant and pleasant regarding the Joyo...and a great price point for the results. I wouldn't hesitate using this in a studio setting...of which I am getting this combination ready for.
My prayers to you, your family and friends...Sincerely I am...Dan;)

@@musicmandan1717 Sounds amazing and thanks for all you do and the content you put out there brother Dan. I have limited experience - just a THR30ii practice amp that has different cab sims, effects and the like. I have followed the tech but not much hands on experience - the UA pedals always looked interesting.

You are very good at following the chord changes when improvising. Any plan on doing a video lesson on how you visualize the fretboard to be able to do that?

    • @musicmandan1717
      @musicmandan1717  4 місяці тому

Dear RetroBytesTV...thank you for the kind words and for the question...one that I have had a few times...and because of you...decided to make my 1st video regarding the "process" that leads to "seeing & feeling" the fretboard for phrasing over chord changes.
I will post the 1st of these "Let's Talk" series videos this coming week...as they are exactly that...a "talk only" video revealing how "I" think...and "how & why" I think as I do.
Thank you for the question that has lead to actually doing a video series on this subject...be looking for it this coming week;)
My prayers to you, your family and friends...

    • @musicmandan1717

Thank you for the kind words Brother Colt and for watching;) No doubt...these 11's are surely more challenging to play on...especially when tuned to E 440...as in this video.
My "live performance tuning" is actually a half-step down (D# 440) and sometimes a whole step down (D 440)...either one of these being 95% of the tunings I use "live".
Although I have several T-style guitars with 10 thru 46 on them, they tend to "sag" when dropped to these tunings where the 11 thru 48 "hold pressure" better when tuned down.
I enjoy putting the heavier strings on and getting back to E 440 (as in this video) for it is a "finger workout" and reminds me when I used 13's thru 56's (tuned down 1 whole step) with an "unwound" G string...felt like "telephone cables"...but I have always enjoyed heavier strings.
Thank you again for watching and your comment...let me know what guage you are using and the style of guitar the strings are on & brand of strings;)
My prayers to you, your family and friends...
      Sincerely I am...
      Dan;)

Brother Claus...thank you for your comment & the next video will be on this "Tonemaster FR-12" along with the pedals I am using and a very important "technical specification" that must be in place when using the Tonemaster FR12.
Thank you again...and my prayers to you, your family and friends...Sincerely I am...Dan;)
