All people need to realize that the factory parts, generally speaking, are at best adequate for the specific application as set from the factory. For the most part any quality aftermarket parts, specifically a premium manufacture like Bilstien always will perform better than stock parts.
My wife bought a 2018 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Tradesman 4wd Cummins diesel pickup, in December 2018. She did not want any lifting or leveling. So she could run the truck through our local no touch car wash and go in parking garages. I installed Eibach shocks on the front. And Bilstein 5100's on the rear. The Eibachs are a little firmer than the Bilsteins. Which is fine in my thoughts, given that the Cummins 6.7 weighs about 1150lbs. The 6mm allen socket on the Bilstein shaft is a definite plus. The Eibachs require the use of vise grips to tighten the top nut. The ride and handling is very civilized. And better than her 2014 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Tradesman 4wd was. The next upgrade is a steering box brace. I want to prevent the death wobble as long as I can. The cost of the Cummins diesel with the exhaust brake is worth every penny. Driving on mountain roads empty or towing, is a simple task now. No touching of the brakes until we want to stop at the stop sign.
My 2017 RAM 3500 4x4 did not come with the off road package. The ride from the factory with 80psi was very rough. I could roll over a dime and tell you what year it is. I replaced the factory Mopar shocks with Bilstein 5100s all around and lowered the air pressure in the tires to 70psi front and 55psi rear. The combined results are great, very smooth ride. I am not looking to do any serious off road driving other than when necessary.
Bilstein does offer rear shocks matching your front ones. Part num. 25-240436. They're not cheap, over $400 a pair. Really enjoy your videos, looking forward for more! Thanks.
I bought a Bilstein levelling kit that came with the 5100’s on all 4 corners for my 2005 F350 I’ve owned since new. They got rid of the horrendous nose dive/bottoming put. I’ve had them for about 40,000 miles but I am looking at a Carli/Fox and new leaf combo for the back end.
Nice and thorough comparison. I just bought some B8 5100's for my Ram 2500. I haven't installed them yet, but soon. The ride is fine except for the concrete patch work on the interstate & rutty back roads in the fields, but adding comfort is never a bad thing. The outtake on your comparison helps to solidify my purchase. Thanks.
I installed the 5100 series in my truck which is the same model as yours. They were like night and day in ride quality over the factory shocks, however after about 500-600 miles they began to ride like the factory shocks again. I do not tow all that much and I noticed the change in ride comfort prior to snow plowing season.
I find nothing wrong with your methodology. Bilstien makes a very good product regardless of what kind of rig one owns. I already know you'll be happy with the outcome.
The truck looks great with the leveling kit...nice job! You left the badges on but I still think it would look better without them...I know mine does. I you have not activated your daytime running lights I would suggest that too. Your LED turn signals will be in the "high" setting when the truck is in anything but P. They look cool with just the fog lights on too.
+METALITHrevetments Thanks man. After much thought and consideration I am going to leave the badges. I would feel the complete opposite if I had the chrome badges like my last truck. I borrowed a heat gun but couldn't go through with it. Maybe I have a childlike fascination with flat black. Finally replaced my fogs with LEDs (and other lights, probably featured in the next video) and am conflicted about their appearance with the Amber turn signal color. It is neat to be able to just run DRLs and fogs for the first time in any vehicle I've owned. My reservation with that setting is sometimes I need to be able to keep a low profile.
New subscriber here, great video I enjoyed this one, I see is been two years since the offer about the 4600's not stupid at all, is actually very kind of you to do that, if it wasnt too late i'm sure i'll take them, Thnaks for the tips about the 5100's i'm getting a set
I had no idea Bilstein made coils for these trucks. I wonder how much they contributed to the ride difference. Sidenote: missing the Allen head on the pintop had me going for a bit too...haha
I put on the Rancho 9000 9way adjustable on stock height Ram and super happy. Front install was a bear though. Checked out bilsteins but didn't want lift
I rode with stock rear shocks and front aftermarket shocks for nine years and having IFS I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal. All the weight is in the front anyway and it didn’t bother me at all the ride quality had improved however nine years later I decided to lift my truck 4 inches and now I run the same shocks in the front as I do in the rear and I definitely feel a more cohesive better performance ride for sure so I guess you don’t really know what you got till it’s gone so now that I’ve gone this route I won’t go another way again.
+bearatts thank you, I am a big fan of the whiskers. I just saw a detective on TV wearing black frames with black iridium lenses but never see anyone else with them!
We have both kind of dives down here! Sad part is some of the diving is taking place in residential neighborhoods...in the streets! It's a tankless job.
I have the same year and color of your truck just mega cab with just 4123 Klm on it pretty much new. Keep going with the upgrades and reviews. Ill try and catch up with upgrades if wife agrees lol. Like the give away idea
Just installed it three weeks ago, it’s perfect. Definitely a smother right and the perfect leveling height. I added 35” Toyo M/Ts , super smooth. Thanks for the review it definitely helped me make up my mind.
Thanks for the review. I have a 2015 gmc 2500hd denali with Rancho stocks that I need to get rid of. Only 35k mile on them but they r pretty rough. Was trying to figure out between the bilstein 4600 or 5100. I don't have spring soil on either front or back. Wondering if i could get coil add on for truck to smooth out the ride. Thanks again for the review.
Did you use the 5100 past #24-239455 on the rear? 4wheel parts tells me I can't use them on my non-lifted 2017 ram 2500. SDtrucksprings tells me I can use them. How did you confirm fitment on your non-lifted Ram 2500?
Chasing some 5100 shocks in Australia for my TJ jeep, "most" the Bilstein dealers here sell the 4600, keep saying it's valved for Australian conditions which I think is a loaf of shit, going with 5100s out of Melbourne after getting doing some research , 5100 are for lifted application's, with an off road valving. 4600 are a ome style shock. Good review, thanks
+Thomas Clemente appreciate the support. The rears mount 180 degrees rotated compared to the fronts so it's not super obvious.. but it would still feel like having mismatched tires or wheels
Could you do a video or discussion on the Tow Hooks and other offroading accessories (like skid plates) for the diesel Ram 2500/3500? Looking around the web, it seems that skid plate options are limited for the Ram 3/4 ton and up. I couldn't find any aftermarket sets that fit the diesel version, though I had heard of individuals buying the Power Wagon skid plates and modifying them to fit on diesel trucks. I'd also heard differing opinions on the tow hooks. Some have said they work just fine for recovery. Others have complained about their bumper shifting or twisting when tow hooks were used for recovery (supposedly this has something to do with how the tow hooks are mounted to a bracket, rather than being directly connected to the frame). I was interested in hearing your feedback on those topics.
PNWreckage I think it's just the nature of the beast (3500) huge and many leaf springs on the rear are probably the main culprit. Lowering tire air to 55lb in rear and 60lb in the front helps a little. Hiway is actually great,off-road is a bear.
So after doing your leveling kit on the front and now doing your rearend with new shocks is the 4x4 package still a must have? Also, I thought would you still be able to get the hill decent modes in the display since it’s just software?
I was looking those 5100 also.. did u do anything to the rear? Or is the truck basically leveled with just the front? Did u get a track bar? How are the bilstein springs?
An off-topic question for you: Do you get decent AM reception on your truck's radio? Mine stinks. I spend most of my time on SXM but when I'm on the road, which is frequently I like to check the traffic on local AM news stations when I'm 45 minute or an hour outside of town. Even the super strong Chicago stations like WLS (890) and WBBM (780) which are both 50k watts don't come in well until I'm close to downtown. I've had the dealer check my antenna and wiring when I go in for oil changes and they say that there's nothing wrong.
+METALITHrevetments I listen to an AM sports radio station called 1080 The Fan which is based out of Portland. On my drive from Salem to my home I have intermittent reception issues with that station, particularly next to power lines and traveling under overpasses. Many stations in Portland are clearer so I guess it could be a broadcasting issue, but the others are not perfect. I have never had a vehicle near this new so I don't have a great basis for comparison; however, I believe our trucks may have mediocre to poor AM reception.
Best am reception I’ve had was in a 2005 Taurus. My 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins crew is 2nd. No complaints here. Did a lot of driving at my last job in metro Detroit area. 950 was the station for traffic on the 8’s.
have you tow something heavy like 9000lbs + with this set up?! wanna know how it hadles , got my leveling kit as yours needs to be installed and next thing will update mine 4600 rear to 5100 Same us yours , Just want to know how it’s handled towing and it it squads a lot in compare with Stock
ram 2016 replacing stock struts. lots of time on long logging roads but also hwy time. lots of cornering. leveling kit 4600 or 5100 or other, i just want the. best. without. a lift
PNWreckage Have you had any issues with electrical, mechanical or otherwise? I really like the truck but some stories in UA-cam and blogs leave me wondering whether I should. Big issues I'm concerned with are transmission, electrical, def and exhaust related issues.
I have the 5100's on my 1500 with the Superlift 4"lift. They come with their 6"lift kits as well. Superlift makes the Mopar lift by the way. The whole lift kit (4 and 6") is $1800.00. Comes with new springs and not spacers-per my installer, 'best lift kit they've ever installed'.
I would be in for the giveaway. I would love to switch the fronts out like yours but rear air suspension is lower then coil spring. Also, I have a ‘14 with rear air suspension and it still does not have the upper “anti-hop”shock. I only saw it in pictures of the suspect but not on any actual trucks.
PNWreckage Thanks. Yes, I saw those too. I was never a big fan of spacers but, it is something I was considering for the look. The air suspension has been so great for towing, ( level though I don’t do a lot any more), and for the ride I am afraid of messing with it.
I'd be down for a 4600 giveaway and would also be willing to purchase them from you if decide you just want to sell them. I've got the stock suspension on my 2016 Ram 2500, since they didn't offer the "off road package" in my model year. Feel free to PM me if you decide to sell them, but otherwise, sign me up for the giveaway. Thanks for the generosity.
I need shocks for a 2000 xterra. Are the 4600 worth it. I don't plan on lifting my xterra. But I don't want to waist a lot of money on something not worth it. Or if anyone know of a cheaper shock that well als9 be good.
Will definitely consider the setup. I'm charting the potential upgrades for the truck coming next year. Good idea of making it a fair giveaway! I give it a green light lol! Also if I'm not mistaken, stock comes with Bilstiens? So would they happen to be covered under the warranty since it's the same brand?
+Shane Bartlett lol awesome. Only they 4x4 Off Road package comes with the Bilsteins otherwise it's basic FCA shocks. I'm guessing they'll find a way to disallow warranty claims since it technically didn't come on the truck it's going to. Stupid rules
So do you recommend against the off road packages if we intend to upgrade the shocks and other items with aftermarket anyways? like the idea of the give away, used is ok lol
+James lol, glad the response has been positive. It really comes down to whether or not you want hill descent control. That was my main motivator for the package. If you want the auto level rear air suspension then you'll have to choose between it and the off road package in case that helps
+JeepCherokeeful I've been playing with it at 70 right now but have had it as low as 55 in the front. 60 feels like the best compromise between handling, responsiveness and ride quality.
I wish someone would make a video on the install. I just did a 2” super coil lift and bought all new shocks. What a pain in the ass to change the front shocks. The nuts where rusted. It would be nice to see what other people do.
What do the shocks do to the payload and tow rating of the truck? Are there shocks that improve the ride, 4x4 as well as keep the same payload as stock?
PNWreckage Perhaps it’s the ones that you got. Other sources tell me that when you change the suspension parts, there you do change the payload rating and tow rating. For instance, the Power Wagon vs the standard 2500. In making the truck more off-road ready, they lost the payload capability of the standard 2500.
I've seen some giveaway videos where they use a website to pick a comment from a youtube url. You could make a separate video about the giveaway and explain the details and all you have to do to enter is comment. Then after the set amount of time you put on it, just put in the url and have it select a comment.
I used a flat area and marked where the beams hit pre-install. Then post-install I lowered them back to the initial mark. Not perfect but they look great and I do not get brighted
+blake dymond hey man, sincerely thank you for checking in. I am okay. Half the state is on fire and things have been a bit of a shit show. Bear with me, I'll be back
PNWreckage that's right! I forgot your in Washington state. I watch wranglerstars's UA-cam as well and he has been out fighting fires. He's a wild land fire fighter by trade. Y'all stay safe and I'll keep in my prayers. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.
PNWreckage lol. My bad. I should have thought back your truck hunting video and remembered where you are. I deal with chronic migraines and forget to verify what I'm saying sometimes.
+bbc454nos hey man, I have seen the console vault and actually have one in my truck. I am a HUGE fan. It's mentioned in the console vs 40/20/40 video I made but I've never done a full video about it. Good idea.
All people need to realize that the factory parts, generally speaking, are at best adequate for the specific application as set from the factory. For the most part any quality aftermarket parts, specifically a premium manufacture like Bilstien always will perform better than stock parts.

+Phil Salsbery excellent
You are stock ride height and run 5100's in the front?
80 psi?? That's crazy!
Yes, yes it is
lmfao i almost died laughing at the dime year comment
Bilstein does offer rear shocks matching your front ones. Part num. 25-240436. They're not cheap, over $400 a pair. Really enjoy your videos, looking forward for more! Thanks.
I was going to say, bilstein wouldn't skip a beat on making rear shocks

over 2 years later but the Bilstein 25-240436 is the remote reservoir shock for the rear in your truck

Damn that sucks! I have not noticed a difference and am now at 42k
Everybody wants to know. You coming back? we hope so man. Your reviews are down and dirty and to the point. Thanks, man!!
+Fishead damn man I'm blushing. I will be back shortly.. and my truck is not crashed 😂
I did the Bilstein 5162 Leveling kit w/ matching 5160's in the rear on my '17 Ram 3500... Killer Setup!
just did mine too. its awesome
How is it after 3 years?!
I find nothing wrong with your methodology. Bilstien makes a very good product regardless of what kind of rig one owns. I already know you'll be happy with the outcome.
+E. Simons very, very happy. Thanks man
The truck looks great with the leveling kit...nice job! You left the badges on but I still think it would look better without them...I know mine does. Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners!
What brand and model LED's did you use as replacements for the OEM fog lights?
+METALITHrevetments Diode Dymamics Cree XML2 (1420 lumens)
New subscriber here, great video I enjoyed this one, I see is been two years since the offer about the 4600's not stupid at all, is actually very kind of you to do that, if it wasnt too late i'm sure i'll take them, Thnaks for the tips about the 5100's i'm getting a set
I did not get the off road package on my Ram. I'd install your 4600s on my white pearl 2500! Thanks for the video
+Rob Rice noted and thank you
+PNWreckage Did you mount the shocks body up or body down?
+Jeff Bennett body up front and rear I believe
I would totally be interested. I don't mind them being used either they still have a lot of life in them.
+Manuel Gonzalez copy that and I agree!
I had no idea Bilstein made coils for these trucks. I wonder how much they contributed to the ride difference.
Sidenote: missing the Allen head on the pintop had me going for a bit too...haha
+Jack Sandoz I am a big fan but also wonder about the ride. Thank you for the support with the Allen head lol
I put on the Rancho 9000 9way adjustable on stock height Ram and super happy. Front install was a bear though. Checked out bilsteins but didn't want lift
Just installed mine last night, I was so pissed off when I did the driver side, and didn't notice the allen head until I did the passenger side.
+Chris Peters yes that sounds very familiar, unfortunately.
I dig on your Oakley whiskers, you're the only other person besides me that I know of that wears them!
+Orren G when it rains it pours
Just wondering, how do you have your pistol mounted in that cup holder? is there some kit or did u custom rig an old holster?
I have the same year and color of your truck just mega cab with just 4123 Klm on it pretty much new. Keep going with the upgrades and reviews. Ill try and catch up with upgrades if wife agrees lol. Like the give away idea
+Bailey463 nice truck! Copy that
Just ordered the same level kit and rear shocks , I hope I’m as happy with it as you are.
I hope so too. Have you received it yet? I am now at 52k and have no complaints.
Just installed it three weeks ago, it’s perfect. Definitely a smother right and the perfect leveling height. I added 35” Toyo M/Ts , super smooth. Thanks for the review it definitely helped me make up my mind.
@@dieselgrandpa4181 have you towed?! And how is your experience so far
I like the XD upgrade in the console too!
+Alpha6Tango Great eye!
Alpha6Tango I have one for sale if you’re in MI. XD9 sc Mod 2 w/extras
I'm interested in the 4600's. They would be a great upgrade for my 2014 3500 mega cab.
+Todd Wamboldt copy that. Will 2500 shocks bolt on to a 3500?
We needed your big honkin' truck in Texas this week.
+Orren G I don't think it's amphibious
PNWreckage you'll figure that part out! It's a done deal for all intents and porpoises.
+Orren G feeling froggy this morning. Took the plunge and bought 200 cans of the as seen on tv rubber spray sealant.
I can show you some real dives. If you scuba on down here.
+Orren G are we talking bars or actual diving? Drowning in ignorance over here
Did you crash another truck? Is that why there are no more videos?
+Truck Camper lol fair question and no, thankfully. Work has been occupying all of my time but I'll be back
Chasing some 5100 shocks in Australia for my TJ jeep, "most" the Bilstein dealers here sell the 4600, keep saying it's valved for Australian conditions which I think is a loaf of shit, going with 5100s out of Melbourne after getting doing some research ,
5100 are for lifted application's, with an off road valving.
4600 are a ome style shock.
Good review, thanks
+steve l agreed. I would go 5160s in that heat but jmo
I'm with you on matching shocks if even just for appearance sake
+Thomas Clemente appreciate the support. The rears mount 180 degrees rotated compared to the fronts so it's not super obvious.. but it would still feel like having mismatched tires or wheels
thats just something I know Id notice on my truck. Have you considered steering stabilizer upgrades? thats another thing Im considering as well.
+Thomas Clemente yes, I am now looking at upgrading the stabilizer after spending time on bad roads
I'd take the shocks! Great idea!
bilstein only makes a single right? I had really good luck with my fox double on my jeep JK with 37's but that whole matchy thing
So, you've had the setup on for almost 10 months now...still a recommend? How's the ride and reliability...any issues? TIA
Would you happen to have a part number for the ones you have? There are multiple 5100’s for 2017 ram 2500
We haven't seen a video from you in a while. I hope everything is ok.
+knightwing4 hey man, thanks for checking in. I am okay, thankfully, despite most of Oregon being on fire. I will be back
PNWreckage I heard about the fires. Wasn't sure if your area was affected. Be careful out there.
+knightwing4 I will and thank you
New ram owner, interested in the shocks!
+Ch Rodriguez Congrats and noted

Love my Bilstein 5100's!
How they holding up friend?
At 15k miles I put 5100's on my 14 3500 hoping it would better the ride. Nope, still rides like a tank. But factory ones were already going bad.
+Terry Henson lame. I wonder what the 3500 solution is
PNWreckage I think it's just the nature of the beast (3500) huge and many leaf springs on the rear are probably the main culprit. Lowering tire air to 55lb in rear and 60lb in the front helps a little. Hiway is actually great,off-road is a bear.

I'm in for the drawing for the shocks. If I win I'll pay for shipping.
Thanks for the reply about tire pressure 60 front 50 in the rear.
+Ted Winiarski love it
FOX 2.0's blew my mind over the 5100's ... That is on a 6 inch lift though
Maybe I missed it, but would you please post the P/Ns for the 4600s.
did you only replace the factory Bilstein's because of the lift? How did the factory Bilstein's ride? My factory mopar shocks are stiff.
I was looking those 5100 also.. did u do anything to the rear? Or is the truck basically leveled with just the front? Did u get a track bar? How are the bilstein springs?
+hmglor check out my video about the Bilstein 2.3 leveling kit and 5160 shocks. Truck is leveled only, with 5100s on the rear
A glitch in the matrix...Nice! Gently used and free is better than New and expensive as shit.
+You Tuber my thoughts exactly
+Arm3nian Great info thank you!
Glad you took the plunge. :)
+Orren G shocking, I know

PNW... where did you go? Havent seen vid in a while. Hope all is well!
+Jeremy P making a comeback! Thanks for checking in
Nice truck! I have the same one except manual and long bed.
+85jettacoupe right back atcha!
+PNWreckage Did you mount the shocks body up or body down?
+Jeff Bennett body up front, body down rear
+PNWreckage I did 5100 front and rear yesterday with bilstein front coils and am very happy with the ride.
+Jeff Bennett great to hear
would you recommend this shock combination for a 1/2 tonight 2wd. I don't tow with it but not heavily or often.
+Emilio Balli I've read good things from other people with 1/2 tons. The ride is so different I would hate to give you bad advice but I love these.
Does your truck have the 3rd shock that bolts onto the top of the rear differential?
+brendaleetv negative, I believe that is only for trucks with the air suspension option
PNWreckage my 2018 has the extra shock but I don't have the air suspension. I think it might part of the tow package I have or the off road package.
Gas trucks get them as long as it isn't a mega cab.
Those only come on the 6.4 power wagon and the G56
I'm definitely in for a give away 🙋🏻♂️ did you install a spacer in the rear or was that an isolator?
+NoblesTx copy that and I did not install a spacer or isolator on the rear
Any idea how the rear seat ride comfort is with the shocks? That's my main complaint with the bed empty.
have you tow something heavy like 9000lbs + with this set up?!
wanna know how it hadles , got my leveling kit as yours needs to be installed and next thing will update mine 4600 rear to 5100 Same us yours , Just want to know how it’s handled towing and it it squads a lot in compare with Stock
ram 2016 replacing stock struts. lots of time on long logging roads but also hwy time. lots of cornering. leveling kit 4600 or 5100 or other, i just want the. best. without. a lift
How's it going out there? Have not seen you updating...hope all's well. Tom
+METALITHrevetments all is well and I appreciate the check in. Recorded a new one and hoping to get it edited and uploaded tomorrow.
How's the truck running meow?
+METALITHrevetments I can't say it's purring like a kitten... but very well! How's your 6.4?
It's running great...just turned 67k miles.
+METALITHrevetments Great to hear. I'll be at 20k by next week
PNWreckage Have you had any issues with electrical, mechanical or otherwise? I really like the truck but some stories in UA-cam and blogs leave me wondering whether I should. Big issues I'm concerned with are transmission, electrical, def and exhaust related issues.
+Billy Roque no issues whatsoever, very happy to report.
Great review. I'm in the market for some new shocks. Does the 5100 work with a 4" lift?
+Troy Noall Thanks man. I know there are various lengths available and I believe they do make one for 4" lifts but don't quote me!
+Madjpey W great comment
I would be in for the giveaway. I would love to switch the fronts out like yours but rear air suspension is lower then coil spring.
Also, I have a ‘14 with rear air suspension and it still does not have the upper “anti-hop”shock. I only saw it in pictures of the suspect but not on any actual trucks.
+Benito Cid very interesting.. I wonder if that was updated in the last few years
PNWreckage I was told it was not needed because of the 4 link.
+Benito Cid the plot thickens
+Benito Cid they make spacers for the air suspension in case you weren't already aware. Kind of neat.
PNWreckage Thanks. Yes, I saw those too. I was never a big fan of spacers but, it is something I was considering for the look. The air suspension has been so great for towing, ( level though I don’t do a lot any more), and for the ride I am afraid of messing with it.
Gotta question so could I actually use these 5100 series on my 99 Chevy Suburban? Front and or back
Wait....who's the little dude in the passenger seat!!??
+Frank A Hmmm doesn't ring a bell
Where can I get the 4600s and have them installed?
Amazon and your driveway
I would be interested if they will fit a 2016 megacab
+Chicken Eye Productions I believe they will
5160s available for the rear now
I'm down for the free used shocks giveaway. Sign me up!
+davethewave32 copy that!
count me in for the used shocks. RAM2500 is a rough ride. heck ya, count me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also...you may need those "spare" shocks in case you need to return and/or modify your truck in the future!
+E. Simons valid point!
+gibsonrocker17 very courteous offer, I appreciate it! Your name is in the hat
The 5100s and the 4600s have the same internals and pressures. The length and boot/color is different. Maybe you needed the extra length?
The valving is different on the 5100's
Im intetested in your shocks
No more content or videos bro? Miss the videos
+AJ Pataialii working on a comeback man! I've said that before but I mean it!
PNWreckage Hell ya bro cant wait for it. Happy holidays 🎄
+AJ Pataialii happy holidays and Merry Christmas if that's a thing you celebrate!
Yeah man. Want to here how that truck is doing. What do you think of the 5th gen?
+Mark Pethtel haaaate the body style. Maybe it will grow on me... next video is a 28k update
So the rear of your truck is stock and the 5100's worked?
Yep they make the 5100s for stock height also
+Mathew Watkins yep
I need shocks for a 2000 xterra. Are the 4600 worth it. I don't plan on lifting my xterra. But I don't want to waist a lot of money on something not worth it. Or if anyone know of a cheaper shock that well als9 be good.
They’re not even that expensive
Wonder if they would work good on my 3500?
+Frank A I also wonder that now with the leaf springs vs coils
Did your truck come with the 46s on it ? I'm in on the giveaway 😀
+Steve Weyers yes sir! Part of the 4x4 Off Road package
Sign me up for the used 4600's giveaway. Thanks for posting.
+redroofretriever Will do!
Bilstein has one now as of late Nov 2018.
Thank you for this video!
i may have missed it, but do you have the part number for the front levelling system you used? thanks
+OTAS it should be in the video description. If not I'll dig it up
Will definitely consider the setup.
PNWreckage true 😩 thanks for the input bud! Looking forward to he next videos!!😃😃
+Shane Bartlett sorry for the delay lately..
PNWreckage hey no sorrys bud. Everything is good😎
+Shane Bartlett high five
So do you recommend against the off road packages if we intend to upgrade the shocks and other items with aftermarket anyways? like the idea of the give away, used is ok lol
+James lol, glad the response has been positive. It really comes down to whether or not you want hill descent control. That was my main motivator for the package. If you want the auto level rear air suspension then you'll have to choose between it and the off road package in case that helps
70 psi is too high a pressure for the rear empty, try 60?
+JeepCherokeeful agreed. Currently running ~55psi in the rears when empty.
PNWreckage yes! And around 60 in front?
+JeepCherokeeful I've been playing with it at 70 right now but have had it as low as 55 in the front. 60 feels like the best compromise between handling, responsiveness and ride quality.
Plan on getting a set for my truck. BTW..is that my XD Mod 2 sticking up from your console? Ha
I wish someone would make a video on the install. I just did a 2” super coil lift and bought all new shocks. What a pain in the ass to change the front shocks. The nuts where rusted. It would be nice to see what other people do.
Did you ever get highway shake around 60-75. Before these shocks
Nope
How many miles you got on this truck now
+WVhunters 23 17,411 right now. Zero issues so far!
Did you need an adjustable track bar with your leveling kit?
I put one on my truck. Bought it from Pure Performance. Very happy with this kit
do still have the free shocks?
XD come as a factory option? Love it!
+Bob rare but yes 😂
Shot Gun Creek?
What do the shocks do to the payload and tow rating of the truck?
Are there shocks that improve the ride, 4x4 as well as keep the same payload as stock?
I do not believe these make any difference whatsoever for payload and towing
PNWreckage Perhaps it’s the ones that you got. Other sources tell me that when you change the suspension parts, there you do change the payload rating and tow rating.
For instance, the Power Wagon vs the standard 2500. In making the truck more off-road ready, they lost the payload capability of the standard 2500.
That has far more to do with springs than shocks. I'd be careful following that advice but what do I know
@@PNWreckage I respect your thoughts and opinions. Obviously you're a more experienced truck owner. My 2014 1500 is my first truck.
Hey I’m a new subscriber to your channel, I like your vids very helpful, how much do you pay for that truck if you don’t mind me to ask? Thanks
A little under 54,500. About 13k off MSRP
What happened you dropped off the map?
Christian! How are you???? Miss your mug! Hope all is well.
+Orren G OG! Missed the punny comments. All is well here and I will get another one uploaded in the near future.
Long time no upload😜
+UPstater5.9 Thanks for sticking around 😉
I would be interested in them, I have a 2017 2500 that doesn't have the 4x4 package
+Glocknade copy that. Based on the interest I guess I have to figure out how the winner is selected. Ideas?
I've seen some giveaway videos where they use a website to pick a comment from a youtube url. You could make a separate video about the giveaway and explain the details and all you have to do to enter is comment. Then after the set amount of time you put on it, just put in the url and have it select a comment.
+Glocknade solid idea
On the front leveling kit that you installed, did you see a difference on the head light level?
+brendaleetv yes, absolutely. I had to aim them down quite a bit but that is super easy in case you've never done it
I used a flat area and marked where the beams hit pre-install. Then post-install I lowered them back to the initial mark. Not perfect but they look great and I do not get brighted
You been ok man? Haven't seen anything new in a bit.
+blake dymond I'm actually in Oregon but close enough! Will do man
PNWreckage lol. My bad. I should have thought back your truck hunting video and remembered where you are. I deal with chronic migraines and forget to verify what I'm saying sometimes.
+blake dymond No worries man, I suffer from CRS (can't remember shit)
Sup man, Have you seen the console vault by any chance? Thought it might be a cool addition to my truck and good content for you.
+bbc454nos hey man, I have seen the console vault and actually have one in my truck. I am a HUGE fan. It's mentioned in the console vs 40/20/40 video I made but I've never done a full video about it. Good idea.
