    Great video. I was thinking about air bags until I saw this. I would rather have better coil springs vs air bags for my needs.

      Absolutely! I'm a set it and forget it ype of guy so springs definitely take the cake. Don't have to mess with air pressures or anything. Can't go wrong here!

    This part number on rock auto is for front coil springs. Is this correct and you just used them for the rear and they matched right up? No spring insulator change or anything? I'm just checking to make sure I have everything right before I place the order and get things torn apart.

      @@TboneSRT reading it again it says "Rear; Front Coil springs; Most Appropriate For Vehicles With A Varying Load Condition. They Ride Approximately 1" Over; Stock Empty Height; Cargomaxx Heavy Duty Variable" So they must be universal for both front and rear. @1NiCk508 hmm interesting, I don't think they will fit on the front because they are massive coils, twice the size as the coils in the front haha but yes it is absolutely a direct fit, you use the current insulators. Pop the old coil out, throw these in and you're good to go!

    I see that you were using the rear pumpkin with your floor jack to raise truck. I know that was common for decades, but I was afraid to do so on these newer trucks, fearing it was made out of pot metal. Glad to see it can still be used to jack from

    4x4 shop near me says I need to upgrade shocks as well? I have 5100’s up front and sits maybe 9/16” taller up front. I want the 893 option which should level me again. 14 Ram 1500. Just started towing again so hope this helps. I also have airlift 1000’s in the rear coils. Thinking I should be good?

    • @TboneSRT
      @TboneSRT  3 місяці тому +1

      Nah shouldn't have to but it wouldn't hurt for how cheap the 5100s are. I ran the stock shocks with 1" taller coils for a year with no issues!
      Yes you will for sure be golden! Between the springs and the bags, you're set!

    I had already purchased the same springs to use on my 5th gen before seeing your video and I am going to replace them soon. My Question revolves around the shocks. Did you purchase shocks that were a little longer to go with the 1 inch lift over stock or were the Bilstein shocks the same length as the original ones.

    • @TboneSRT
      @TboneSRT  2 місяці тому +1

      So the bilstein shocks are for 0-1" lift! Perfect for this application. I ran the stock shocks for a while with zero issues as well.

      @@TboneSRTonce I got the springs out I was surprised that the new springs were shorter when comparing them to the factory ones. I kept the stock shocks and it drives great. Note I also installed a set of Ram Rebel front strut/spring assemblies to match the 1 inch gain in the rear.

    What year is your Ram? I have a 2020 Bighorn Ecodiesel and installed the 70% over the weekend using your video. Thank you for a great video! These lifted my truck 3” and I don’t want that much lift.
    You said the 4th gen 35% (351893HD) will fit the 5th gen, but I read something that said it’ll only fit 5th gen Classic model. Do you have a Classic or something else like Laramie/Bighorn/etc.? I am returning the 70% and about the buy the same you have here, but want to check first and not waste money on shipping costs.
    Again great video!! Super helpful!

      @TboneSRT  2 місяці тому

      Heck yeah! Glad it helped you. As far as lifting, Ahh ha, did you reference the chart?? The 70% 5th gen springs will definitely raise it 2.5". The 4th gen 70% springs will raise it 2". Do you remember which part number you installed?

    • @InLandSkate_NV
      @InLandSkate_NV 2 місяці тому +1

      Unfortunately I purchased the 351-905XHD ones back in January and just saw your video before installing.
      So I’m curious if the 351-893HD ones will fit on my 2020. I love the chart you provided and it sounds like they will. However, I read one site that said those would only fit 5th gen Classic and then all 4th gen ones.

      @InLandSkate_NV ahh okay! So I am actually running the 4th gen ones on my 5th gen with zero issues! They fit! I only needed 1" of lift so my only option was to go with the 4th gen version to give me the exact lift I needed. I totally forgot to add that mine is a 2023!

      @HookedonHD 4 місяці тому +1

      @@TboneSRT Yeah, that would be great because that is one of the most asked questions when we are DIYing on all this stuff. Torque specs for the wheels should be 130 ft lbs the rest of the items for rear suspension parts to replace all the stuff in the video are in question. TIA!

    • @TboneSRT
      @TboneSRT  4 місяці тому +1

      @HookedonHD no problem, I have access to all of that info! And yes 130 you're correct! Although I go 125, just to play it safe. Soft aluminum threads they stretch real easily and if you don't have the greatest torque wrench, you could run into stretching threads and snapping them. Ask me how I know 😆

      @TboneSRT I didn't check, but do you have a front suspension replacement video? I'm going to install Bilstein 6112 in the front looking for a good DIY video with torque specs. TIA!

    • @TboneSRT
      @TboneSRT  4 місяці тому

      @HookedonHD for the rear, lower rear shock 103 ft lbs
      Upper shock nut- 35 ft lbs
      Rear upper end link bolt- 41 ft lbs
      For the front
      Upper shock nuts to frame - 46 ft lbs
      Lower shock nut- 124 ft lbs
      end link - 114 ft lbs
      I do not have an install of the front. I should have recorded that but I never did!

    Cargomaxx is better than SuperSprings international?
