- I always liked the blind badass type of character so I think this is a solid way to play as Daredevil in Dungeons & Dragons (DnD 5e)

f you want to do a version of this build that delves more into the lawyer Matt Murdock then go collage of eloquence bard
That's a good idea I didn't consider that
I love Daredevil and i think you did him justice with this build. (although Quivering Palm being a Kill Move is kinda out-of-character since he doesn't want to or like killing people, superhero no-kill rule kinda stuff combined with Catholic Guilt lol) There was a whole thing with his interaction with Punisher where he's anti-killing.
But I guess RPing it that it's not a "Killing blow" but a Knockout Punch or something.
I get that the slew of Human Variant does get monotonous, but Tiefling just doesn't sit right with me. Good build though, like the idea of it.
I get that, and if you went human variant you could get the fighting style or even devil's sight as a feat, but I just wanted to change it up a bit
I love the Tiefling change myself, all my players in my game are humans. I get a little...humaned out.
Like the interpretation but I’d have done one more fighter and less monk to avoid that quivering palm
I think he needs observant and alert feats too!
I think the second wind and wholeness of body represents his grit. Dude is trained in martial arts and back alley boxing. Plus, he does tank some vicious hits
Could you try making Wonder woman? Since you've done batman and superman It would be awesome to fill out the big three.
Also I love that you made daredevil, by far one of my favorite marvel characters.
The irony on one of the most Lethal abilities in all of D&D going to the character who would be the most opposed to using will never not be funny to me borrowing a nat 20 in insight couldn't even show me that. Trust me Matt has multiple nat 20s to spare me one
Good build, probably better for min/max than "true to form". The healing can be reflavored as him just never giving up, but it's the such high levels in monk and the tiefling that really don't "fit". I understand not wanting to ALWAYS do v. humans for these popular builds so I understand trying to find any reason to not do ANOTHER human. But I think the so many levels in monk aren't really fitting for the character. But if you're that kind of purest it wouldn't be hard to just replace those levels with ones in fighter since that's really what he would fit. The movement and stuns from Monk are great, and then the more feats and attacks from fighter are really spot on for him.
Dude. You need to make Robocop. It would be great to see your take on him, and I am very curious how you might replicate the man (or robot?)
Double nat 20 on disadvantage perception check
Got that super perception
Hello there! Do you have a build that doesn’t use weapons nor magic? A only hands build character? Thank you for your attention! Love your content!
I don't have any on my channel I don't think, although I was working on one for Rock Lee, although there are a few options. You could go with Barbarian, fighter, or monk and if you don't want to use any weapons the fighter has the fighting style unarmed fighting. Additionally the barbarian has the beast barbarian subclass that allows them to use claws or a bite. And if you don't like that subclass you could just as easily take the fighting initiate feet to also get the unarmed fighting style. Lastly instead of going with that fighting style you could also choose a race that has some natural weapons, tabaxi can use claws, lizardfolk can bite, things like that.
@@dndbuilds Thank you!
So, since I absolutely love how you build things, I'd definitely love to see you try your hand at building Albert Wesker from Resident Evil in 5E.
GREAT VIDEO!
Great build. Fighter to Monk makes sense for the character's story progression as well since he starts off as being trained in boxing by his father and then adds martial arts training from Stick and The Hand. I like Champion too because it goes with the idea that he's the champion of Hell's Kitchen.
When I was playing RPGs more regularly as a kid (late 80s, early 90s), there was a system (I forget what it was, but it was not DnD) that allowed you to accept handicaps in return for additional abilities. It'd be more of a house rule, but it might have made sense to be able to swap the Blindness for some kind of bonus, like a +2 in Wisdom or something.
GURPS. It was the TMNT roleplaying ruleset. My friends and l tried it at a 12 year old's birthday sleepover. It was interesting.... But it had too many rules to be as much fun as D&D.
@@ericpeterson8732 I think you're right, it was GURPS. But it was the James Bond 007 RPG. The mechanic fit well with the game because you could trade real world weaknesses like alcoholism or womanizer (both of which Bond was) for advantages.
Sick video as usual.
Glad you liked it!
I think I'd have liked to see Daredevil with either the Alert or the Observant feat to better reflect his literally superhuman senses, but I don't see any way to manage it and still have decent stats *OTHER* than to play him as either variant human or custom lineage. Still, I don't think just having Blind Fighting is enough for someone whose senses are so acute he's been known to read handwritten notes from the page *under* the one the note was written on. 😉
pick basic human and this build also works well for Nightwing
Instead of those last 2-3 levels of Monk, I'd go Ranger with them. Get some more tracking ability, a second fighting style (likely Defense), and maybe a 3rd level feature just for the utility
Defense doesn't work with Monk's unarmored defense. (Needs armor) Maybe Thrown weapon fighting for more billy cane throws. Or duelist for Billy cane smacks (since unarmed strikes don't count for the bonus). Honestly, though, ranger comes with too much baggage. There's too much that doesn't fit. Like spells. I'd go barbarian before I'd go ranger. Rangers don't get anything....Wait. Ranger 1 gives us a free expertise. And while favored foe requires concentration, it is not a spell, so it fits thematically at least.
Could you build William G. Bloodmary, from the Faraway Paladin? Knowing you, he would probably be Reborn, since it's an Isekai; also his starting stats would probably be STR, WIS, and CON being the highest; but it's the class(es) that's really putting me in a loop.
Not Wis, sorry, I'm asking this at like 12:30 am, so it's a little hard remembering important stats at the top of one's head. It's STR, CON, and CHA. But since he's well learned, INT and WIS should still be decent at least.
The Monk Without Fear
~_~
Actually you are totally right - Daredevil CAN heal himself - he has perfected control over his body, so he can literally control his muscles to push out the bullets!
If you are going to ignore what they are, you can just use a different race every time. 😂
True, but I try to do it just when it's fitting, like using a tabaxi when I did Black panther, or like I did with this build
Pls make a MOJO JOJO video , just for fun
How to build Seiya from Knights of the Zodiac.
Could you try making Snake Eyes?
Yesssss!!!!!!
Glad you're pumped about it!
Think you could build Jackie Estacado from The Darkness?
You lost me at Tiefling. Cmon, dude. Matt is human.
I know, but I have so many human builds, it's so rare that I actually get to use tiefling
It be awesome to see if you could make rias gremory from high school DXD
I rolled a Nat 1 on my perception check.... I can't see shet
Can we get hashirama from Naruto please?
I can add him to my growing list of Naruto characters to build for sure
Could you do Alexander Anderson from Hellsing?
do you use dnd beyond
Can you do samurai jack ? .
Rimuru in DnD?
A little Mac build?
🥑
Those avocados keep me going
can we get trafalgar law from one piece please
I do need to do some more One Piece characters, so that would definitely get added to my list.
@@dndbuilds thank you!
So Daredevil is One Punch Man?
I'll be honest, not a fan of the tiefling race for this. And I couldn't get the concept. Is he blind? Or pretending to be blind? Honestly, I think you took too much Monk. Quivering palm is not Daredevilish, IMHO. I think you could have added some rogue (for cunning action and expertise) or more fighter for a second fighting style (unarmed fighting) and more ASI/feats (alertness, observant, tavern brawler, TOUGH) flavor perception as hearing with a high enough passive perception, I would let you hear the crossbow or bow release in order to let you deflect the missile (I believe you have to see it and I'm not sure blindsense would catch it in time) so I'd go rogue 1 (to reflect Matt's delinquent youth as well as thieves' tools and expertise in perception and insight, sneak attack will not be used) then fighter 1 to get blindfighting. Then jump into monk for 8 levels. Then go back to fighter champion for the final ten levels. You'll end up three attacks (four w/ MA, five w/ FB, eight w/action surge & FB), d8 for magical unarmed damage, evasion, overall a better build, I think. If you used one of those ASIs for fighting initiate (unarmed fighting) and didn't care about the third attack, you could rogue 3 (inquisitive) and get some lie detecting skills and cunning action and more sneak attack (that you won't probably use)
Oops, deflect missiles doesn't require sight. But I'd still like to get his passive perception in the high 20s in order to notice things outside of the 10ft range. Like when someone is approaching or conversations. Instead of lip reading, maybe only you can hear what they're saying.
He uses meditation and chi to heal in the show.
