What was your favorite change in Fantasmic? Is there a change you'd like to see in the future?
My favorite change took place in 2017, especially with the advancements in lighting effects, mist, sound, etc. I would like to see even more intense lighting effects, especially when the lightning strikes Murphy the Dragon at the finale.
The enhancements were so good! And I like your idea too!
I like everything in the updated show. It's really excellent with all the animation technology utilized and two or more storiea in one segment. That makes it invigorating.
Although I would like to see TaleSpin, DuckTales, Lilo and Stitch, Moana, and Frozen II and the 2019 Aladdin remake added, though they could be great addition choices for Florida. In other words, I'd like to see some of the elements and scenes replicated from TDS and DL for WDW. Though I'd rather have Ariel in the undersea segment with Nemo and Pinocchio; so I was thinking Tiana and Naveen 🐸 could take Ariel and Eric's place.
They could use TaleSpin 🐻🛩 and Zootopia to collaborate with The Lion King, Frozen II ❄ to replace Pocahontas, and DuckTales 🦆🎩💰 to collaborate with Will Smith's Genie. And I suppose Hook and Facilier could replace Frollo since he's been underrated. Oh yeah, and the bubble montage seems unnecessary, so I suppose a scene combining Stitch and Moana could replace that.
As for Disneyland, they could add Frozen too, add the other villains from the WDW version and Hook to the takeover and have Bo Peep replacing the Soldiers in the finale.
So what do you think of these ideas?
Wow! You really thought this out and these are some great ideas. Hopefully some of them will make into WDW when they end up updating their Fantasmic!
I feel like them tossing in Pirates of the Caribbean was kind of a test balloon for incorporating live action with animated movies. If they're headed that direction I wonder how they would incorporate things like the MCU or Star Wars into Fantasmic? Darth Vader and Thanos joining the Evil Queen as villains? Maybe after Lion King we visit Wakanda? And maybe we go from Cloud City to a Whole New World? This sounds more intriguing the more I write...
@@FreeformDisney Sounds good, but Fantasmic! focuses more on Disney and Pixar movies and a few TV shows (Launchpad McQuack from "DuckTales" appeared in the character finale of the previous incarnation), not the other franchises acquired. Hmm...In the WDW version, what if they add Pete, Shere Khan (TaleSpin), Don Karnage, Magica De Spell, Flintheart Glomgold, The Beagle Boys (clips of Karny, Magica, Flintheart, and the Beagle B's could be used from the DuckTales reboot, particularly from the episode "GlomTales"), Fat Cat, The Queen of Hearts, The Big Bad Wolf, Mother Gothel, Dr. Drakken, and Shego to the villains takeover. Some of them don't need lines. Only the official major Disney villains could.
And maybe, for the Princess segment, they can use giant parade-styled gondolas from "Tangled" instead of barges to carry the the princesses and their princes. This could actually work for Rapunzel and Flynn.
Not to mention, they can replicate the updated dragon from Disneyland for DHS. And I suppose they could replace the cardboard forest-like backgrounds at the sides of the mountains with waterfalls just like in the app, "Disney Magic Kingdoms" so they can collaborate with the fountains more and occasionally make colorful splashes especially during the "Frozen II" and Maleficent battle scenes.
But could they replace the mountain with a hat tower similar to the one from the defunct Tokyo version?
For the Fantasmic show at Florida's Disney Hollywood studios, I would like to see the dragon being updated.
Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage is also one of the longest running stage shows in Disney parks (running from November 22, 1991 to present). Next year, it will be an even longer-running stage show than the Golden Horseshoe.
The technology updates are really impressive, but there's no question that the original packed a better punch. Things like Kaa and the flower petals now seem completely random whereas they had a place in the first version. I remember getting chills the first time the King Louie part began because the music was so cool, and now it's not there any more. There was also a section of quiet where you could hear the misters, and it added to the overall dynamic. Also gone. I love that they now have a screen behind the mill, but the projections themselves, while bright, don't read very well, at least on video, because the pattern is so busy. What even is that? Flowers or something? If you'd never seen the first version, the new one would be perfectly fine, but it doesn't compare as a piece to the original. I agree that they need to update Fantasmic, but the only thing the new one has over the old one is the wow factor (which is, frankly, quite a good wow).
Anyone else want Star Wars and/or Marvel segments in a future update?
I want to see some of the stuff from Fantasmic 2.0 to come to Florida! I was really disappointed when they didn’t include some of this stuff when they did the refurbishment for Fantasmic in Florida which kinda sucks to be honest.
Disneyland older version and 2.0 are both my favorite.
