The Theme Park History of The Indiana Jones Adventure (Disneyland/Tokyo DisneySea)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лип 2024
- The Indiana Jones Adventure is a EMV dark ride attraction that opened at Disneyland on March 3rd, 1995 and Tokyo DisneySea on September 4th, 2001. Based on the Indiana Jones film series, the attraction has guests accompany Indiana Jones on a quest through a lost temple that is guarded by a supernatural power. In this video we take a look at the history of The Walt Disney Company after the passing of it’s founder Walt Disney, the hiring of Michael Eisner as CEO and how he changed the landscape of the company, his relationship with George Lucas and how it brought Indiana Jones to Disneyland, the original concept for Adventureland attraction and the ride itself, and its clones at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Tokyo DisneySea.

I remember when this ride first opened it had three different routes and all received cards that would help you translate the words on the walls. This is still my favorite ride in Disneyland.
I just realized remember TV show starts on ride before Christmas parade 1994 and 1995
All your life has been spent in pursuit of archaeological relics. Inside the Park are treasures beyond your wildest aspirations. You want to see it opened as well as I. My friend, we are simply passing through history. This, this *is* history.
You...I like you.
I still remember the AT&T cards they used to give you to decipher the writing on the wall in the queue.
Don't hold me to it but supposedly still give out the deciphers if you ask for one. Don't know if that's still the case or not.

The jonathan taylor Thomas opening was the most 90s thing I've ever seen and I love it

Thank you for doing this. This is my favourite theme park attraction ever. Riding across the rope bridge while the John Williams music plays is an indescribable feeling.

My experience with this ride is quite memorable. It was my first time in Disneyland and this was one of my most anticipated rides to go on. Throughout the day, the ride went down due to technical difficulties. As soon as the fireworks I ended, I ran to the Indiana Jones ride. Not even entering the temple, the ride went down and the cast members evacuated us. I waited for awhile in front of the ride, I gave up. However I then checked the Disneyland app, and noticed it went back up. I ran all the way over there and reached the vehicle boarding area. Ride went down again by the time I got there. However, the ride managed to work for me, and it was the grand finale for my day at Disneyland. Definitely one of the best rides in Disneyland
History of Big Thunder Mountain Disneyland Anaheim would be great. The ride was transformed and has a great back story that most people have never heard. I think there was even an audio record that was sold.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been added to the list, thank you for the suggestion Peter.
A few years ago, I went to Disney with my parents, my cousin, my uncle, and my grandparents.
We all decided to go on this ride, but my mom and I were concerned my grandparents would hate it. In the middle of the ride, my mom looked at my grandpa and he had a HUGE grin on his face. It was the highlight of his trip
Even though this video didn’t go in depth with Tokyo Disney Sea, thank you so much for talking about it in some way. The Tokyo park is by far my favorite theme park in the world, and I’ve been to almost every Disney resort they’ve made so far (I just need to go to Paris)
This was insanely well done. Brought me right back to my Disneyland trips growing up in LA 🖤 quickly falling in love with your content
This is a must-ride every time I go to Disneyland, but truthfully there's so much going on during the rude that I never really understood the storyline! Thank you for this, you've made it so much better! I can't wait to ride it again next weekend!!
Jonathan Taylor Thomas doing the intro took me straight back to the 90s!
I've ridden this ride but due to poor vision I've never really gotten the story. This video is incredible and makes me love the ride even more. Thanks
I always wondered how they did the boulder scene on this ride and this finally explained it!
Please do a video covering “Poseidon’s Fury” at Islands of Adventure!
Would love to see that!
Another well done video! Love this ride. Thank you Theme Park History!
I sat on the far right side and my bag almost fell out during the ride. Love that
These videos are amazing ❤️ thank you so much
Great video! This is one of my favorite attractions of all time because of the wonderful immersion and storytelling. It is a serious gem at Disneyland and DisneySea.
Well you've now officially covered two of my favorite all time rides--Mummy and Indiana Jones. This channel is amazing. Can't wait for next month's video!
Holy hell that ride looks phenomenal. Can't believe it's 20+ years old. Also, amazing review as always!
These videos (and intros) are so good! Keep up the great work!
YAYYYYYY !!!! This is my favorite attraction of all time and holds such a special place in my heart !!! Thank you for doing my suggestion!!!
Thanks for covering my favorite Disney ride!
A new theme park history. My weekend is going to be great!
Thank you so much for this video! It was awesome! I am huge Indiana Jones fan, and this is my absolute favorite ride in the whole world! ❤️
MY FAVORITE RIDE OF ALL TIME - thank you so much for making this! Can't wait to return to DLR in August for D23 to ride this a billion times
DAMN YOU DISNEY PARIS! That concept art for the original 2 rides looked amazing!!!!
I was just there 4 days ago. Its been 20 years since I been here so it was new when I was here last. They made some minor changes to it, but it's still as amazing as I remembered. It must've been the fountain of youth cause for the the duration of that ride I was a kid again.
This is my very favorite ride ever. I was so obsessed with it when I was 13 that I bought an Indiana Jones hat from that little store across the way and wore it every single time we went to Disneyland after that. ❤
That intro! I love it! Great work as always.
Always putting out great content 👍🏻
Yay!!!!! Thank you for taking my suggestion!!
And thank you for the suggestion Kimmy!
@@ThemeParkHistory you're welcome, can you do splash mountain in Disneyland please and pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland as well please?
In 2008 and 9 I worked at Indiana Jones at Disneyland. It was an absolute wonderful opportunity I can't begin to explain the magical experiences I've had. I've got to see this attraction first hand while walking through many times. I also got to ride this attraction many times everyday they're called show checks.
Made my night thank you!
This was awesome! Loved it! You should do the history of Universe of Energy!
YES I LOVE THIS RIDE!
One of the best Disney has ever created IMO, I wonder why they haven't created more attractions using the EMV system.
Your vids are so great, keep it up!
I noticed you added song "I can go the distance" in the background at one point, beautiful review
YAY!!!! i’ve been waiting so long! thank you for including my comment in the video 💛
Another great video. Keep it up.👍
This is awesome! One of the best rides in the park (as long as it’s not broken down)
Can’t wait for you to do either Pandora or Beastly Kingdom
Love this ride and haven't been on since 2007. Another great video!
Totally random, but thank you for including some cover art for early 90’s fail movies. I had been trying to remember from when I was super young the name of this movie I saw, I recognized it as black hole from your video and I’m beyond grateful to quit thinking about that random image in my brain.
Great video! One of my favorite rides! :)
Another well video that brings back great memories!!!!
I have been waiting for you to do a video about this ride. It truly is another one of the groundbreaking achievements by Disney. I have a vivid memory of going to Disneyland when this ride first opened. I was just four and a half years old. They told me I was not tall enough. I remember going back a year later, and I STILL was not tall enough. I went back again over two years later...I was FINALLY tall enough. I was so devastated those first two years. But the wait was WORTH IT!!! It remains to this very day one of my favorite rides of all time at ANY theme park EVER. SO creative, original, innovative, and exciting. Indiana Jones is also my favorite franchise under the Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990), Back to the Future: The Ride being ANOTHER one of my all time favorite rides at any theme park EVER. Thank you, Jack, for another, epic, beautiful, and nostalgic video. LOVERLY walks down memory lane.
No problem thetevinator! Sorry to hear you had to wait almost 4 years to experience what seems to be one of the best attractions at Disneyland, that must had felt like forever. Seems like we're in the same boat, BTTF and Indiana Jones were my favorite trilogies from the 80's and they still hold up pretty well today.
@@ThemeParkHistory Yeah, the wait did feel like it was forever. Good Lort. But the wait was ALL KINDS of WORTH IT. Brilliant. It is one of the greatest achievements by Disney, in general. Even though Indy isn't really a trilogy anymore with Crystal Skull and a 5th installment currently in development. Only true trilogies left stand are the Back to the Future Trilogy (1985-1990) and The Matrix Trilogy (1999-2003). But we definitely are in the same boat. No kidding. Love it. We dig old school cinema and nostalgia, in general.
Amazing video! I don't recall a Disney UA-camr doing a video dedicated to the Indiana Jones Temple of the Forbidden Eye and Temple of the Crystal Skull for that matter.
This video is amazing great job 👏👍
Another incredible video!
Thank you Chris! Just a heads up, I sent you a follow up email to what we discussed about a week ago. I know your busy with everything but just wanted to make sure you received it.
Great video!
Thank you! We appreciate you letting us use your videos for the ride portion of the video, it really is some of the best footage available on youtube!
Great video! Though you do briefly touch on it here, and while it’s not as exciting as a full-on ride, doing a history of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular would be a neat companion piece to this one.
I didn’t even know the story to this ride 😂, and that’s pretty cool about that tunnel moving instead of us moving backwards
Need to catch up on the videos. Cant wait for great movie ride video
Great video of Indiana Jones. That ride is one of my favorites at Disneyland.
BEST CHANNEL EVEEEER, really happy because this video has launched. 😁
As always awesome video! Do Backdraft, miss that attraction at Universal :D
*I remember when this first opened in Disneyland! I wanted to decode all the messages with the decoder card they gave us!*
This ride has been my favorite ride at disneyland since I was 9 (I'm 16 now). It's so fun and and thrilling for all ages, I'll be sad when it eventually goes. I have so many good memories on this ride.
I think it still has a lot of life left in it, even if it's been open for over 20 years. I don't think Disney can afford to close an attraction like Indy once Galaxy's Edge opens up, they need something to hold people over who don't want to wait 5 hours for the Star Wars attractions.
@@ThemeParkHistory I really hope you're right, it's such a fun and interesting ride. Very true, but we'll see I suppose.
Love that feeling of fucking pure nostalgia i get whenever i see your guys uploads.. thank you guys for all your hard work on everything hope to see you guys the biggest of all youtubers!!!
Yay! My request for this was fulfilled! Thanks them park history!
Thank you for the request duhnessy! Really enjoyed making the video on a great attraction!
One major difference with the DisneySea version is this amazing effect where they shoot a billow of steam/smoke at the vehicle that is lit to look like a plume of fire. It's ridiculous how realistic it looks and I really hope they find a way to incorporate into future rides.
Nothing quite the feeling of seeing a notification for a theme park history vid :)
I would love to see the history of Space Mountain. That ride is so awesome.
I think a video about the Journey Into Imagination pavilion at Epcot would be good. The pavilion has a lot of history behind it
Annnndddd there’s the heavy accent we needed ^.^ well done video!!!
Great review!!! I'd love to see a review of the Tower of Terror at DCA!
THANK YOU! I knew you do it!
This was excellent.
I’m 25 years old and hadn’t a clue how this ride worked until now. THANK YOU.
Well done!
When the new Jurrasic World ride is open will you make a video on it? Love the channel man seriously. I can tell you put a lot of work into these videos just don't over work yourself and have fun making these great videos.
My favorite ride of all time (along with Journey to the Center of the Earth). Love both versions, but slightly prefer Disneyland's for the legendary James Earl Jones as Mara!! The bug scene and the dart room are better in Tokyo though! Thank you for making this awesome video!!
I'm not a fan of the films but this ride looks AWESOME. 😍
This was great! I think Test Track would be an interesting one to do :)
YESSSSSS😭🤩😍 I've been waiting for this!!!!
Hope it was worth the wait!
@@ThemeParkHistory YES it made me so happy ;v; smashed all my expectations hhh you guys really do your research!! You did so much justice to one of my favorite thrill rides ever in a Disney theme park😁 HHH THANK YOU THEME PARK HISTORY!
Well thank you very much Tofu Twins! We couldn't let down Indy and one of the best attractions at Disneyland. Really enjoyed working the video.
Hands down, this is the best ride at Disneyland! I ride it at least 5 times every time lol!
BEST Disney ride! Also, I’d love to see a Matterhorn video 😊
AWESOME!!! Thanks a lot !!! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
Thank you Fiazco!
Theme Park History Loved your reference to the crystal skull movie lol (as I really thought the Tokyo attraction would’ve been referred to it) ^^
I had to include it unfortunately, I know so many people (including myself) have tried to forget about that movie 😂
So I’ve only been on this ride twice and I LOVED it both times! But watching the clips and walkthrough of what the ride is I was like...what? That never happened when I went🤣I’ve heard the ride breaks down a lot so a lot of elements don’t work during the ride...sadly both times most of the our ride was just dark. There were no lasers being shot at us, no illuminated walls, and no visibility of the rats or beetles! Like I said, I still loved the ride but man! It looks even more awesome in the clips!! Makes me want to go back haha amazing Theme Park History! Please do Tower of Terror and Matterhorn next🙏
I love ur vids could u do star tours next?
This was an epic ride!! My brother was so scaried of this ride !
The fact that this ride is not in Orlando, automatically makes Disneyland better than Disneyworld.
I remember when I was 10 years old and seeing signs for this in the summer of 1994 “coming spring of 1995” and all I could think about during the coming school year was the next summer vacation just for this ride! It seemed like so far away!!!
Wow I can’t believe it’s been 25 years!!!
This is one of my favorites.
Another great video. Can you please do Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket in the near future?
Great video, I'd suggest the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground next
We will make sure to include the playground whenever we cover Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. Thank you for the suggestion Anthony.
Good video! Sounds like an interesting ride! Can you do Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit next?
one of my absolute favorites ever! indy is amazing and one of the best rides ever! two questions, what do you consider as the top 10 rides in the world? it can be any ride from any amusement park not just disney/universal? i’m guessing rides like journey, steel vengeance, mystic manor, pirates shanghai, symbolica, this ride, forbidden journey, spider man, etc.
also, are any of these rides going to be a future video im sure they will because you make such awesome videos! keep it up!
