Never mind the negative comments about sponsorship 😊 you are always so conscious of brands you partner with and how often and I can still see you actually wear your clothes you got in previous sponsorships unlike other influencers. ❤
I don't see any of the "negative comments about sponsorship". Were they removed? I've been appreciative of your content, Alyssa, and I love Sezane's aesthetic as well. But they are not aligned with slow fashion values by any stretch of the imagination. Not anymore.Their scarcity tactics, the constant releases, the increase in polyester use, the ballooning of their collections etc. etc. etc. Their rating on "good on you" and other places is as low as mango or zara , or other fast fashion brands. Maybe there is an argument in there about how their aesthetic appeal promises longevity in your closet that trumps insufficient commitment to green and ethical production practices. But I just wish you would address what makes you want to partner with them anyway. I can only assume others who follow your channel for its slow fashion content would also appreciate more context. perhaps it would help explain what strikes me as a glaring inconsistency.
@@martagierczyk3544 I don’t see that at all. Sezanne clothes are well made and mostly natural fabrics. Fast fashion to me is Zara, H&M, Next etc. Predominantly plastic and flimsy. Rarely clothes that last and only recently including some eco fabrics. I’m not picking a fight with you, I’m just sharing how views differ on this. And ultimately, this content is free so it costs nothing to stay or go.
I love the concept of updating past looks. We all have clothes we'd like to repurpose and give new life to but don't know how. So many creators buy whole new wardrobes every season due to their sponsorship which is so unrealistic for most of us. I love that you've used your sponsorship to complement older pieces and show the maturity in your style. This revisionist approach to fashion appeals to me, personally.
Everytime you talk about Sezane, I think about that navy and white polka dot silk blouse that you were so excited to find second-hand. And here you are, a brand ambassador of sorts! I LOVE this for you!
I actually love your older looks!!! They are a little more fun and funky! However your looks now are more polished and we are all ever changing and everything you put together is amazing so creative and talented 😊
they are definitely more funky! I realized though that a lot of them were done simply for the sake of it - I'm grateful for your grace for the evolution of style! xx
Love the updates to your past looks! While they were all great the first time, I love how you changed them to something that felt more authentically you. You have inspired me to look at some of my past looks and see if I can do something similar, thank you Alyssa!
I loved this, Alyssa. I think your style has really evolved beautifully. You have developed such a classy, workable wardrobe that suits your lifestyle requirements. Long-lasting pieces that fit you very well, look sophisticated, and still hold with your three words. I really love the pieces you have chosen and look forward to you styling all in a variety of ways. Those boots are just gorgeous, and the trousers are perfect on you. Thank you, and it gave me some great styling ideas for my own clothing 🤎
I liked all your old outfits and I think they were fine. I understand what you were saying about context though. I think that's a common mistake our younger selves used to make. And the thing about feeling true to ourselves. Finally, I love Sezane and I am happy to see how you slowly incorporate new items to your wardrobe over time. I really wish they would expand their pant cuts a little bit to accommodate pear shaped bodies. It would not hurt to offer one or two styles of pants cut to fit wider hips with smaller waists. That comment is not about you, clearly. I just hope they see what people are saying about them and take notes. :)
I second your wish for a wider range of cuts! Their pants are cut so narrow in the hips. It would also be great if they expanded their rise options and listed the rise measurement on the product page.
Blue and brown is one of my FAVORITE color combos. So glad to see it here as well ❤ Aaand, I learned something about wearing a wide leg cropped pant for winter--thank you!
I love the outfits that you put together, but it was a little overwhelming to see so many new Sezane pieces in one video. I would have loved to see you integrate more pieces from your beautifully curated closet, because that always helps me to focus on shopping my closet before making new purchases. 💕
Hi Alyssa, as a human being I need to buy products. You are among the UA-camrs I trust. I know you will curate your ‘ commercials ‘. You have actually introduced me to merchandiser that I would never know existed..Brave leather, Poppy Barley, Anfibio…and I have been very pleased with my purchases. I don’t need anything from Sezane,so I won’t be buying anything, but you styled everything so well.
I agree with this comment. I love the Power of my People white cotton oxford that you have recommended. Just wore it all over Europe, and what an amazing staple! Looks fantastic in my photos, too. I will always pack that as a vital button up. Thank you for your creative ideas and inspiration, Alyssa!
@@kb1625 yes, a Power of my People shirt is another item I bought at the recommendation of Alyssa. Fabulous quality, if Alyssa hadn’t recommended it I would never have known of this company’s existence.

I love the new outfits! In some of the older ones, it felt like the clothes were wearing you, and in the new oufits, you are the centerpiece! Well done! ❤
I also get annoyed by all the Sezane content that has been taking over my UA-cam feed. But that’s on the brand, not on this creator. I won’t be buying anything from them, as I prefer to buy second hand….BUT I realize this is a quality video that Alyssa put out for free - so if you don’t like to see sponsored content, maybe just get a ticket for her Shop your closet events, which are super fun and helpful to be inspired by the clothes you already own! And she has a subscription platform that features on sustainability! I’d imagine she would be able to do less sponsored content if those made enough money to pay rent haha.

Hi,I started watching you during covid, and you truly became one of my favorite stylists because I could shop my closet and that of my loved ones😊.Please continue.
Looking for inspiration for my upcoming girls trip- gotta say I loved your last look (old and new) you looked good! And it gave me something to think about…we shall see what I come up with. Def love the over the knee boots and that Harper dress- the one with the slit. So pretty.
I love this! You always look amazing, and I wouldn’t say you made mistakes, but these NEW looks are perfect for now. I can see ME reworking some old looks. Since you are bringing on new items are you cleaning out some things?
Than you so much Kathy! I'm glad it helped inspire some new to you looks! YES! I will be letting go of my suede moto, red scotch and soda coat, a shorter sweater dress! Great question - thank you for being here:)
You're really good!!! Where were you hiding? I needed this and the fall trends video for a styling workshop for teenagers in a few weeks. Thank you so much!
Great video! So many helpful tips. I really appreciate your deconstruction of each outfit. And the choices you made then vs now. Really showcases style evolution and personal style maturation. Keep bringing it Alyssa!!!
Wow! Loved this. Both sets of outfits are you, but it's very inspiring to see your style evolution. Very sophisticated but sexy and well proportioned. The Sezane pieces are timeless and will last for years.
I look back at some of the styling I used to do and you ask your old self, "What was I thinking?" This was a great video. Your idea of recreating the looks from the past was brilliant.
You've nailed it with the last outfit (with the tights and the skirt). But I also like the old one with the cobalt coat, I bet everyone noticed you on the street.
Love a good thoughtful, analytical video! For me, tyr biggest issue with the blue coat look was actually the contrast of the cognac belt at the waist. Something as simple as just untucking the sweater would have done a lot to create visual harmony and the vertical lines that you prefer. Then you can still keep the "fun" turquoise sock! ;) But with cropped pants especially, I think it's important to be aware of not creating so many different lines across the body to avoid visual business.
I like the idea of revisiting older looks and identifying how your style has evolved and lessons learned. Thanks! I understand the point of the video, but IMO head to toe outfits in a single brand look like the brand catalog and less like personal style.
great video so interesting to see the old images, you look so more sophisticated now! Fashion and style is a continuing learning curve. Thank you for honest content as always.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
Well done! 👏👏👏 It was interesting to hear your own comments about your former outfit choices. The subtle changes you proposed now lead to much more elegant outfits! Your explanations made these choices so much more relatable. Fashion might be a journey for many of us to express ourselves and it is inspiring that, as this journey goes on, we can become better and better at it. Circumstances, authenticity, proportions - really good advice. I will bear it in mind more consciously when I create my outfits in the future. I love your channel and your sustainable approach to style and fashion. Thank you for sharing!
Absolutely LOVE! I am similar to your shape and so obviously I’ve tagged all of the Sezane items. I love Sezane- that Terry Jacket looks amazing! I can’t wait to get it in 😍 keep up with your videos, you’re so inspirational!
Whaaaaat a fantastic video! Loved every bit of it - the revisiting and analyzing of old outfits and the breakdown of what's making the updates work. And pure Alyssa style all the way through! I'd love more of this, encore! :D
I loved the idea of contrasting old and new ideas, we evolve and our needs change. I think as for various negative comments I’ve seen, I feel the adage of ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all’ could be really appropriate.
Hi Alyssa, I love all your great advice on slow fashion. All those old photo pics are appropriate to their time taken. You always look young 20's to me, I love the brown coat, but i think its too mummy's for you.Keep making informative ,helpful videos. You are great.😊
I love this format and those wonderful outfits! ❤ I like Cézanne. Classic with a twist is my vibe. I wish I had photographed my older outfits, for perspective. Cheers! 🎉
This was a good video because when you look back on your style, you see what you didn’t like and changed it I do that often. I think the older you get the more conservative you get when it comes to your clothing. It’s just more chic.😊 I am 68. I used to do a lot of wild outfits when I was a hairdresser. I’m since retired and have a very different style very chic
Hi, everyone! Just here with a reminder that if we are alive in these times, we are of necessity making compromises between our ideals and the realities of our daily existence. Maybe stop before posting a negative comment and ask yourself if you are truly meaning to be constructive--to build up--or if you are just in a moment of wanting to vent negativity--which tears all of us, including you, down. And if it's the second, try doubling down on kindness for yourself and everyone else and see if that feels better than criticizing. Thank you, Alyssa, for modeling how to navigate the contradictions and nuances in life with elegance amd intention. Love and peace to everyone.
One company you introduced me to is Power to my people! Although a bit pricey they are well made and made in Canada. I have 3 shirts from them and wear all the time. The other is the belt company from Canada also well made. Thank you for introducing products from Canada 🇨🇦 and the USA. 🇺🇸
Its fun to see the evolution of your personal style. Such a great idea to occasionally review our personal style and see if we need updating or repurposing. I know all content creators are going to do sponsorships. I feel you present yours well. They're spaced out and you use your own clothing even when showing sponsored clothing. It flows. I've seen just a bit of the negative comments and am reminded about a video you did some time ago explaining how everyone's definition of slow fashion is different. I really liked that as there is no 'one size fits all.' Perhaps its time to replay it?
You are brave to tackle old styling issues. I think most of my past missteps happened bc I was wearing passed down clothes a good bit. They were great looking but not really my look. The four of us (sisters and me, the sil) still swap, but now I just pass on items that aren’t me. I have learned SO much about style elements watching your channel.
enjoy your video great balance of new and old !! I have a question the black bag that you show while wearing the coat and white pants is a Loewe bag or something different ? im looking for a bag like this thank you
Very nice combos. Neverther less it was good to watch you Shopping your closet. With clorhes from Cézanne it does look more elegant and expensive a kund of quiet luxury in a modern way.. What has hapowned to your blouse. It is indeed a nice piece of clothe ans White does look good on you😊
You look and dress better than ever, very chic and classy. I love the Sezane clothes you're wearing and congratulations on finding the taupe puzzle bag, it's really lovely and a great medium size, worth the investment if it makes you happy and is very "you". I too am buying better quality pieces from brands that I would have considered too pricey in the past, but I'm 58 and feel I deserve quality pieces, I buy less but better quality. Being petite, I invest in new and pre-loved jackets that suit my height and also hide my tummy, because although I'm very slim, I cannot get rid of my tummy and I have come to accept and be at peace with that, but the right cropped jacket and also a great scarf can be very good at minimising and disguising it.
Whatever the brand/shop, these looks are amazing Alyssa and we can all learn from your ideas to think about proportions, contexts and accessories.❤🫶🏼☕️
I live in an eternal summer place and yes Im grateful, but Im kinda like to dress up and layers and here Im very limited. Im doing it anyway and using boots and stuff but have to let go a bit now at post menopause cause the flashes are not joke. Anyways, Im still plays with my clothes and enjoy your videos and thank for this idea to restyle our old looks. Love your channel to keep on trend and bc Im more conscious about my purchases. Thanks!!
Love it! That was fun and inspiring, thank you!! One question: that last all-black look - when I saw it i reognized it is SO ME if I wore that with a long sleek black satin skirt (with heels). omg i loved that. Is that white peeking out of the sleeves of the jacket part of the jacket, or...? Much thanks! Have a great week!
I wish I could wear these styles, but as a larger woman, layering looks horrible on me. When I see someone adding a crew neck over a button up shirt with a blazer, followed by a coat, I’m like, I could not bend down if my life depended on it. 😂 It’s really beautiful though and still inspires me. ❤
I’m just wondering what brands you would recommend that have petite sizes. Most conscious brands only have regular sizes. For the prize I want it to fit better, which requires petite size bag for me.
I’m not sure about sustainable brands, but Abercrombie and Fitch do include petite/short sizes for many of their items. Picking cropped tops can also help. Audrey Coyne and Jean Wang are some other influencers who make some good recommendations for petites. Personally, I try to focus on picking items that fit optimally at bust/hips and then accept factoring in costs for tailoring. This also helps in slowing down my consumption because I have to decide if an item is really worth investing that extra money in.
I actually found my way to your channel, to Monica Vinader and to Sézane entirely independently, but how lovely that both of these brands align with your values around ethical consumption and mine too. But there is one prevailing frustration for me in this regard. As someone who lives in Australia, both brands, but especially Sézane, aren’t the most realistic to order online from. Neither have shops or outlets in Australia, and the cost of return shipping is unrealistically prohibitive. I can only live in long-distance awe…
I am so interested in Sezane but I am not sure about sizing .. are they true to size ? A lot of French brands run small . So a small in the US is a medium in France. What do you think ? Thank you
@@lewistracy3061 great question! I find their clothes run true to size or large to be honest … footwear is the only place I size up! A 39 instead of 38. I tend to size down in their trousers and blouses! Knitwear, dresses are TTS and denim for me is TTS but I’ve heard for others it runs small and they size up! I find their size guide and knowing your measurements is key!
Loved the concept of looking back and learning from mistakes, and loved seeing all of the looks. But I’m not sure this heavy amount of sponsorship content in one video stays true to your slow fashion values. I imagine you are constantly trying to balance this when creating content and I appreciate that this is just one video.
@carolannburrell2637 I would not be surprised if Sézanne had made Alyssa (and others) an offer that was too good to pass up. The launch of a new season's lines is hugely important commercially, as you know. The company have committed to stock at a time of economic stresses right across Europe, the UK, the US, Canada and elsewhere. People are reducing their spending. So if a channel, such as Alyssa's, can give Sézanne more reach and throughput then it's absolutely worth being part of their Marketing Strategy. /Personally, I also don't mind the brand heavy content here. It gave us the opportunity to see these new pieces in context. As you say, it won't be every video 😊
I have the Harper dress in ecru and it’s great for winter with boots. I tried on those tall suede boots last season, unfortunately, they didn’t fit over my thighs (the top of my thighs are 18”) if anyone is wondering. They were beautiful though
I love the long black sweater dress, thigh high boots and long coat look! However, I live in Los Angeles where the weather rarely warrants this amount of winter clothing. But I do travel to Europe often (Italy mostly!) and the thought of packing that outfit (or similar) along with the rest of my outfits makes me 😵💫. Any suggestions?
Where is your old sweater from and how would you describe it? I'm looking for an oversized sweater but they are often a square or circular shape or the shoulder starts at my elbow! Just looking for something like what you have shape-wise
What I love about Alyssas videos is that she constantly states, "You don't need the exact pieces to create your look." I love the new trousers in this video. I have a similar style but in a black/grey/white mixture material. So, I use Alyssa' inspiration to create my own version of a similar styled outfit. I never remember a time when Alyssa said you needed her exact pieces. This is why I love her channel so much 😊
The outfits from the past were conpletely different from the outfits you created now, you changed literally everything. What I see is that you have always liked very fitted clothes and still do, the outfits from the past were very slim fitted and tight, I remember your sleeves were sooo tight in your earlier videos, when you tried to layer your clothes. Your clothes are still fitted compared to the oversized styles that are now so common. But I can see the outfits you put together now are more relaxed, and cohesive.
What I see most is that your look has „grown up“. Your past examples look like most of our wardrobe too… a few years younger and a little fewer curated 😉
I have to stop being in denial 😢 summer is over. I appreciate the logic of using what I have. It’s good for the environment and my pocket book, but also, at 64, the idea of shopping for each season is too exhausting. My life is too busy for that. 😊
Never mind the negative comments about sponsorship 😊 you are always so conscious of brands you partner with and how often and I can still see you actually wear your clothes you got in previous sponsorships unlike other influencers. ❤
thank you so much for your support it means a lot! xx
@szfrj It's good to speak out as you've done here. Otherwise the 'take downs' will appear as the majority view.

Whaaaaat a fantastic video! Loved every bit of it - the revisiting and analyzing of old outfits and the breakdown of what's making the updates work. And pure Alyssa style all the way through! I'd love more of this, encore! :D
Loved the updates and the comparisons between the different styles.
I loved the idea of contrasting old and new ideas, we evolve and our needs change. I think as for various negative comments I’ve seen, I feel the adage of ‘if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all’ could be really appropriate.
thank you for being here! ❤
I like Cézanne.
Love and peace to everyone.
wow ❤ this is a wonderful sentiment that I will keep in mind always as well :)
You looks so gorgeous today Alyssa ❤️
So much fun to watch the changes you make ❤
One company you introduced me to is Power to my people! Although a bit pricey they are well made and made in Canada. I have 3 shirts from them and wear all the time. The other is the belt company from Canada also well made. Thank you for introducing products from Canada 🇨🇦 and the USA. 🇺🇸
This was such a helpful video! Thank you. I also love how your style has evolved-elegant, but practical. Sexy and classy!
This was very fun! - Michelle
Just another amazing, interesting, and inspiring video. Thank you a lot for it! 🫶
Thank you this is so heartening to hear!❤
It is so great to hear you say that you love your legs. You have great legs, but more important: there is a lesson there for all of us.
Always fascinating. Love a good sweater dress. Easy to feel warm and no ironing! Also the poet blouses ... I loved the furry scarf look though😂!!!❤❤❤
More pretty and elegant today😉👋👋
enjoy your video great balance of new and old !! I have a question the black bag that you show while wearing the coat and white pants is a Loewe bag or something different ? im looking for a bag like this thank you
Sézane is fabulous. I have a few pieces and cherish each of them.
Very nice combos. Neverther less it was good to watch you Shopping your closet. With clorhes from Cézanne it does look more elegant and expensive a kund of quiet luxury in a modern way.. What has hapowned to your blouse. It is indeed a nice piece of clothe ans White does look good on you😊
Thank you!
Brava tesoro!❤
❤❤ great video Alyssa Thankyou
My favorite part is how you always have the best hairstyle for each outfit.
Thanks!!
Great looks. But what about those of us who run warm and do not like wearing layers? Any single layer tips that will look modern?
Love these looks - timeless! Would love a link/know where you got your leather jacket and black boots in the first look - thanks!
Dear, what size you recomend to Terry jacket? Normal or above? I would like to buy it, but I'm hessitaiting... Thanks a lot for your answer❤
I would say it's true to size!
@@AlyssaBeltempo thank you !!
I struggle with unlined coats as they tend to rub against your clothes and cause wear and also static! Do you find this and how do you get around it?
Spray anti-statuc spray on your coat.
I LOVE the Harper Dress, its super sexy or not, I would wear like you did, a few buttons undone.
Where is your old sweater from and how would you describe it? I'm looking for an oversized sweater but they are often a square or circular shape or the shoulder starts at my elbow! Just looking for something like what you have shape-wise
Your videos always have such great nuggets of wisdom, thank you Alyssa! I really appreciate the tips you have given here.
