Cool, I was curious how racers were shedding up to 50lbs from their T7's. Swap headlight, exhaust/cat delete header, tail tidy/signal delete, ABS/front disk delete, lithium battery, carbon bash plate. Swap out hardware for titanium. Swap out rear wheel for 2". Great tip for moving the OEM headlight closer to the frame. Carbon fiber handlebars are available too. I'd be interested to see carbon spokes as carbon has strong tensile strength. Or perhaps even swapping out half of the spokes for carbon to reduce drag and rotational mass. Good to see such a positive review of the steering damper as well.

Manuel, great stuff! Would love to see a video about a T7 adventure built with your own bash plate and fairing. Can your newly developed fairing with the small, but powerful and lightweight headlight also be purchased with a "see through" wind screen? Maybe tinted?
Really nice build and have a great appreciation for all the work u put into it! Noticed your radiator guard is stock. I highly recommend the OEM upgrade. It’s looks a lot better in my opinion and it’s also lighter. SKDA is an awesome company to work with!
Build a Desert X for a nice change. Don't see so many on your channel... As tall rider, 1,98mtr, I find many bikes to low. My knees aren't straight in 90° angle which makes getting up/standing up hard on the knees. Riders from Western Europe and Scandinavia have problems with this a lot. The Desert X is one of the highest off road biased motorcycle for us to focus on for us. Especially the new rally addition with 2 cm higher suspension and so, 2 cm higher seat height at above 90cm. This a a lot better for tall riders of the newer generation. Every generation gets taller and taller. But our cars, matresses, chairs, tables, offices and motorcycles don't grow with us unfortunately. But now Ducati gives us an opportunity.
Quite the build! I would love to see more on the Rally Raid Suspension - I guessing you went with their 230mm Closed Cartridge up front and 230mm shock in the rear - I also purchased these for my T7 though have yet to install due to Not having a place to rework the forks for the moment... Much thanks for sharing so much detail!
This is a mindblowing build!! Great Inspiration thank you very much! It would be super interesting to hear your experience with the digital RB. Will you do the Trans Italia Marathon on that bike?
It's a great pleasure for me to see big Yamaha modded for a real racing! Just some notes. I reckon that front brakes are weak. They may be enough on a slippery surface but in a forest they are useless. This front master cylinder has 10 mm piston and it can stop only YZ125. We use old style 2007 11 mm masters and calipers with 27 mm 2 pistons on everything 250-450. Personally I use on my XT660Rally billet Braking floating 32 mm two piston caliper, EBC MXS pads, EBC 320 mm supermoto single rotor, Magura radial 13 mm master, braided line. It's just incredible set, linear, powerful and with long lever travel that allows me very accurate braking but can stop front wheel if I need. What piston size does your slave cylinder have? And what's about forks? Why didn't you use KYB SSS or any other twin-chamber forks?
Thanks!!! But see it in this way, if they built the perfect bike then it would take away the fun of customising it and spending endless hours and nights in the garage hehehhe
Manuel your T7 killed me! I own my own built KTM690 Rally and I have also built my own Cagiva Eelfant 750 Rally. The Cagiva is a legend but 220kg full still tricky to go with if it get slippery - the KTM is brutal wiht power and challanges me often when it get very selective - I am not a Trail rider working a lot with clutch. So thats why your T7 builts makes me crying - it looks awesome but also the changes you made are those one I did on my bikes too - the question is how heavy is your built T7? I love watching your channel - please go forward! Thxs Franky

@@hangingnutsjimmy88 well the MT lump takes a beating no doubt and there's no electronic gizmo's to go wrong, that was almost the selling point for me, but I've had a few off's in the past and I didn't like the one piece frame/subframe and welded on exhaust hanger, I felt that's where they saved a few quid along with the suspension. I feel they are two very different bikes to ride, here in Sardinia I rode also a 790 Rally from a friend and what I can say is that the Tenere 700 is more stable, it gives you a "safer" feeling when riding on fast sections whereas the 790 is more agile in tight sections but the rear suspension feels all the time unpredictable and trying to kick on rocks. The Tenere you have to ride standing up most of the time to go fast whereas the 790 brings you to sit down more
HI Manuel, Awesome Tenere 700! I love all your build videos. I have a (front) suspension question: I have the same Rally Raid fork set-up (5.6Nm Springs) with Scott's damper on mine. I ride 50/50 onroad-offroad with my T700. I'm using Motoz Rallz tires with tubes. Over 100km/h, I get a strong headshake/pendelum effect from the front. I'm blaming the knobby tires, but wonder if you can recommend other tricks (besides going back to a 50/50 tire) to reduce the headshake. Your fork tubes look flush with the triple clamp. Mine peek out 7mm. My sag is setup to my weight of 90kg, but I play around with compression and rebound without much success yet. Cranking the steering damper all the way on helps, but slow speed steering is no fun. Any tricks you could share?
I have the rally raid inserts too -6.0Nm spring, Steering damper. The shock re-valved with a 8Nm spring. The standard spring is only 6.0Nm. Way too soft. I run Dunlop 909 front and Moto Rallz on the rear. I don't have headshake at any speed. I feel your headshake may not be the tyres. Are the wheels balanced? Are the tyres fitted to the rim correctly? Loose spokes? I hope you find the problem.
I have the Rally Raid too, 6Nm springs 8Nm on the rear. I run MT21 Pirelli Front and Motoz Tractionator rear. I have also run the same tyres as you. I have no head shake, as Woftamduke said, check the wheels are balanced and true. Play around with fork height and Sag. I can do 160 - 170km dirt or blacktop and the bike feels stable.
@@wonkywheels103 Thank you for your suggestions. Yes, the wheels are true, balanced and we checked the spokes (spoke torque wrench).
