NEW MERCH CLICK HERE: teespring.com/en-GB/stores/md-fish-tanks My previous Sparkling Gourami tank was aquascaped nearly 9 months ago and needed a big reboot. These tiny little gourami are a great fish so I wanted to give them a nice new fresh home. I love a good low tech nature aquarium and is my favourite to build. So that's what I've done and hopefully you like it. People are often asking me to do low cost low tech aquarium builds....that's all I do to be honest 🤣. As you can see here. Cheap light, cheap filter...and actually, given that it's low iron glass, the aquarium is cheap as well. Now obviously, this can be done with any aquarium and if your budget is really tight, go for a used tank. Wow, this looks really good. Stunning fish too! I use the same filter in my tanks too, they’re great , I put bio-noods, filter floss and cut that black sponge in half, works a treat.
Does anyone else find that the beginning of the build videos spoil the end result (spoiler) I don't mind too much but I find it's like knowing the ending of a film before it starts. But apart from that your videos are always great MD Just thought I'd mention it, sorry if I'm the only one who thinks this.
The thing is guys, the analytics show that more people will watch the video when they know what they are investing their time in. That's why the thumbnail shows the result. But understand where you are coming from in the beginning highlight reel. Again, that's why I've stopped that in the last few builds.
I saw Sparkling Gouramis in person for the first time this weekend. I was at Aquarium Coop for White Clouds when I saw these. I fell in love instantly and now want to build them a tank.
About to apply everything I learned from your channel to the 10 gallon guppy tank my daughter and I have going right now gonna be a fun weekend, keep up the videos and the amazing tanks

Absolutely love this, I think this is one of the best scapes you've done in a while, not that the others are bad!! But this is deffo the MD style build that I think shows your real style and skills 👌 great job dude
Your channel is really great. I got inspired and started keeping fish tanks 8 months ago during the pandemic after watching your videos. They are amazing and very helpful.

You have a ton of tanks. It would be easy to put filter material from an established tank in your new tanks filter. That would help a ton with your "fish in cycle".
I'm getting my first aquarium today! I haven't bought anything else yet but you definitely inspired me! I never thought about finding gravel at the hardware store. Small details that is going to help me save some time haha the only thing that sucks is that most bigger rocks are all unavailable everywhere I check :(
I hope you enjoy these fish - they are very entertaining to watch with lots or personality. I had a breeding pair that were very active - they were also super territorial and basically took over my community tank. I had to rehome them because they became so aggressive and basically wouldn't let anything move.
They are a huge fan of stem plants at the surface. Mine were breeding within a few days of the plants starting to cover the surface. Similar to a betta and a bubble nest.
I just love my sparkling gouramis. They are just a beautiful little fish and very curious. They don't just swim back and forth, they explore. You tank is just gorgeous. I love watching your channel and the new builds you do with your scapes. It gives me great ideas. Greetings from Virginia.
You should try etching seiryu stone in muriatic acid to give it that black look. But it should still have those bright lines running throughout it. Looks super cool
Hey MD, do you still use red root rooters? I’ve noticed I don’t see them anymore and was wondering why because I was going to order some. Pros and cons? Thanks:)
At one time I had 22 aquariums running, I had a 20 gallon with a pair of convicts, a 55 gallon with an tiger oscar who would chase a laser light when I was playing with my cats I would shine it in his tank and he'd chase it like the cats did, sometimes it looked like he was watching television with us, a 55 gallon with platies, guppies, corydoras, a pleco, ottoc(?), female betas (3) any lowlights, neons there was so much distractions they never fought because other fish and decorations would get between them to distract and there were plenty of areas to go into, a 55 gallon with 6 angelfish to grow out to see if I had a pair, and 6 20 gallons with assorted fish, a 65 with a cichlid who didn't want anything in with him ( he even broke the heater X2 ), my cats would watch the fish swim and they would drink from the tanks no matter how many times we chased them away, but I moved and this place is not big enough for any tanks (went from 3 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom trailer) cannot wait to move to a place I can set up my tanks again love watching them more than a television I'll put them all in one room built special just for the tanks 10s, 20s, 4- 55 gallon, and the 65 gallon, might have to buy different lights and different filters for each other them, I'll be in the country with a well and out of city limits
