Hey I had platy's before and a mother palty gives 10 to 12 babies in that 6 are grown to an adult

I really love this scape MD. The first time around in the hobby 20 years ago I never kept platys. I set my daughter up a 29 gallon and we went to the LFS, they didn't have a big selection of fish, but they did have some (I guess) regular Pilates, they're like kind of gray silver with the black tails.. anyway, I didn't realize how enjoyable these little guys can be!! My daughter and my grandchildren are loving their Aquarium and it's starting to become a jungle ❤️ We've even had babies already!!
Now it's got me interested in getting some different kinds of platys and these guys are beautiful that you're showing here!

This is hands down one of the best channels on UA-cam, definitely the best fish/scape channels. The vids always make me smile and inspire me with my own tanks.
One of the cheapest and most kept tropical fish and yet I'd say this is one of your very best aquascapes - just beautiful.
It’s a beautiful hobby. Just another form of art, and just like any other hobby, it can get very expensive. Don’t ever skip in getting quality tools, plants, food, and substrate.
It’s an addiction
The most important thing for making such beautiful scapes is the options of plants for fore, mid and background!!! I am so inspired with MD's videos i started keeping planted tanks and started collecting plants, i have like 8 types so far and its hard to get a beautiful scape...
I purchased six platies exactly like yours for my grandson‘s aquarium, one of the females or two, I’m not sure, had fry and I now have about 40 full-grown platies in my 130 gallon tank. They are and have always been exactly like puppy dogs, when I put my hand in the tank for whatever reason they come up to me because they are always hungry!
Your plants ALWAYS look phenomenal. So green and healthy. And your hardscapes always look so cool. I'm always looking forward to seeing them. I do think that it's time for you to do a fish room tour!!! Please, please, please. 😁
MD I started my tank with 6 platys. As livebearers I quite liked the idea of the odd baby fish. I had read that even the parents will eat their young. Four months later I currently have about 7 teenagers & a further 10 new babies. I literally don’t know what to do with them. Am hoping my local fish store (if it ever opens again) will take them off me. I would have been better buying a couple of rabbits ☺️

I've got Mollies and the black ones are gorgeous! I must say, they are really fun and entertaining fishes. They love chasing one another and playing. Platies are similar to mollies too. So enjoy your new fishes and great choice with the platies you've picked. They look great in the tank! Watch out for those babies

I just had a flash back to when I worked in a tropical /pet shop Saturday job as a teen ,the owner for some reason used to keep the tanks high enough so you had to climb a ladder to get the fish. One day a man came in that wanted a particular fish in a full tank of fish ,I climbed the ladder keeping my eye on his chosen one, I didn't realise that he had climbed up on to the first wrung behind me as I was about to get his fish he shouted ' watch the ****** scales ' I jumped in shock and the poor fish went airborne and landed with a plop on the floor at his feet . I had a short career in tropical fish 🐟

If you replace the red Ludwigia with the alternantera rejneka-mini, you will not need to cut it often to keep the image static. Ludwigia is growing fast and will be out of the picture. Cryptokarina balance grows up to 50 centimeters in length. It will creep along the surface of the water. Your work is as interesting as ever. I want to move a month ahead in the future, to immediately see how the tank will grow up)))

Get some swordtails . Not too long ago I added 1 male and 2 female Swordtails to my guppy Tank. The females had about 20+ babies within the 1st 2 days.. they seem so happy 😃 and growing daily ✌️

dont be silly guys. The plants make it look good. Invest most in the plants and you cant go wrong. Any tank looks good with tons of plants. Worth the money if you are intot the hobby in my opinion.

Feel lucky to live in tropical country. Molly & Platy over here totally extra cheap, with 1 pounds i can get around 100 fishes.

You give good inspiration for so many scapes which are obtainable for the average aquarium keeper's.would like it if you would do a marine planted tank as you don't see many and you would put it across in a way any one could do. You have a brilliant channel.

I was just there yesterday.. picked up some plants - food ready to set up my tank
I love mickey mouse platiess! I had a community tank with a ton of different kinds of fish including a male beta, guppies, a dragon goby, shrimp, crabs, snails, 2 different kinds of algae eaters, like 4 different kinds of molies and about the same amount of kinds of platys. I had a few other kinds in there as well but honestly, I can't remember. I just got what I thought was cute. Probably not the best way to do it, not knowing if they would get along or not but they all did. I never had any problems with any of them. My guppies, mollies, and platies bred like wildfire it was insane. I took them back to the petstore by the dozens once I ran out of friends who wanted them or could even take them. I bet you will see loads of babies in no time! I know they say not to mix betas with other fish but mine was so happy, he blew bubbles nests all over the place. I miss that tank so much but had to get rid of it in a move. :(

Just got my first trio of platy last week, and when I woke up the next day one of them had given birth 😂😂 Luckily I had an older unused tank to separate them, but now assuming they all make it to adulthood I got about 11 platy for the price of 3 😅

Beautiful aquascape! Be prepared for fry! My 4 female Platy's keep having babies, long after my only male jumped out of the tank several months ago. The girls store his sperm and have new fry every month! I have at least 100 babies, all in different sizes. No adult male in with them for at least 3 months!

I am wondering I am watching your aqua scape's for some time now and never noticed at least in my experience not that it should be done if you are successful with the way you acclimate your fish.
How come you never drip acclimate your fish? I am always using this method but if your fish are really not dying and if you have no real lost I guess what is the point then.
By the way love to see some of your techniques on aqua scaping you are really doing an awesome job and I have enjoyed your builds. I hope to get some of these methods into some of my build's
in the near future. I am in the United States you see and I wish I had access to some of these stores you have in the United Kingdom. Your channel and the way you literally explain everything in such great detail is so informative to your viewers. Anyhow enough chit chat you rock md keep up these video's. Your teaching an older aquarium man a ton of new tricks.

Has anyone wondered what it would look like to have the back and both sides painted black. Maybe it would look really stupid but I don’t know. Maybe it would look cozy and contained. I would love to see MD try it sometime.
One of your better tanks. You should check out the Seachem tidal hang on back filters though. They blend in well and have brilliant features
