    The art of finessing the drags...it’s what people need to understand especially if your new to the hobby... just because it says RTR doesn’t mean there’s still not tweeking to do... and truly that’s what makes the hobby so special...🏆

    I just bought the roller kit and all 4 shocks were only about half full , and basically had water in them the fluid was so thin . I removed the inner stops ( expanding stops ) on the front shocks and filled them 15k , and the rear I put smaller stops inner and outer to get some suspension movement and added 40k , it launches so much better as well as gets traction on the stock tires , before it would just blow the tires off and go sideways , now itll actually launch and go straight . I really think losi just tossed these things together to shove em out the door , im super disappointed in the attention to details . But now it's a driveable launch able drag car . Can only go up from here . Great video, love all the tips and inputs , thanks !

    Earl, have you ever set the front shocks so they extend easy, and keep the front wheels barely touching the pavement, when it wheelstands, and retract slowly when the front end comes back down? I see a lot of grudge racers are setting up their cars full size race cars to run like that.

    My right side shocks were not filled completely with shock oil on my brand new Losi no prep. And the wires for head and taillights were duct taped on which the rear tire was rubbing through the wires and the rear body post grabs a wire.

  • @fastlosiccdl4600
    @fastlosiccdl4600 2 роки тому +2

    If you plan on doing no prep you might as well just take those shocks and just throw them out because in order to get a car without a gyro to go straight you got to do a lot of work you got to do rear steer so you need better shock towers with more adjustments off the rip you're going to want better suspension obviously sway bars in the rear so the suspension that comes with really ain't set up for it

    If you have a hobby wing 1080 LED program card (the $10 or $11 one) It has worked with all my Spectrum ESCs. Also I do not have my losi car yet it is on the way but it says that there is 40 weight shock oil in the front and 70 weight in the rear.
    Also i printed adjustable threaded shock sleeves for Traxxas ultra shocks that act just like threaded body shocks with a nut on them and everything to fine tune the spring. When my losi arrives in a few days I will measure those shocks and print a couple shock sleeves for those also. I know the spacers work but having a threaded body shock is much better to make a quick adjustment when you're out testing. If you have a 3D printer I'll share the file with you.

      Those bump stop/limiters are on my rtr losi as well, and I didn’t see them on Earls either. Shot him that question earlier today, wondering if he took his off, he hasn’t got back to me. Maybe losi started putting them on after Earl, or someone else made the comment that, without those limiters, the right axle will hit the spur gear cover when trying to compress all the way. All I know is mine right axle won’t hit the spur gear cover, because I have the limiters in.

    Do you want the front of your car to lift up a little bit having the car ride on the wheelie bar but still having the front tires maintain some contact on the ground so you still can maintain control of your vehicle. You do not want your car to go down popping wheelies you have no control of your car

    • @earlmoorhead5555

      As an rc car is super light on the front locking the front shocks down is the best way of adding weight to the front and not letting it transfer more weight to the rear tires the wheelie bar and locking the front shocks from traveling up will allow a good launch and settle back down the front tires on the ground to steer after it launches is what I’ve seen also controlling the power off the hit will increase your time I’ve not yet seen a full front travel suspension benefit an rc drag car 👍

    Mr. Moorhead, I have subscribed to your channel, and respect your advice, and I thank you for your wisdom, especially when it comes to trying to get the losi 2wd to perform as best as it can, with the stock parts. I was watching your videos on it before I even made the decision to buy one. Today was the 3rd day I took it out since I’ve owned it. I have many question for you, but let’s just refer to one thing I just noticed on this video that makes me think your rtr is different than mine. I just noticed that your rear shocks don’t have the little external limiter on the bottom off the shock shaft, as mine do. Did you take those off in a previous video, and I just missed it? I am currently trying to do what I seen yours do, which is get mine tuned, to go a to b, relatively straight, and hit about 50mph. I’ve getting my 4wd cars to hit 70mph in 132ft, and that was very easy, and lots of fun. I knew 2wd no prep would be much more difficult, and that’s why I’m trying to do what you have done exactly.
