I remember playing D1 after D2 and thinking "Where's the 'run' button?" I don't remember there being a portal to Butcher's room. I remember he was just in a room hanging out. You open the door and instantly poop your pants.
The video clips are from an updated version called Belzebub. I guess the copyright ran out or something and so a programmer updated it to work on modern PCs and also made a few changes to some of the bosses.
sweetstarrider Indeed. The portal bit was actually supposed to be in the original game as there are many bits of dialogue that go with it in town, including Wirt clueing you in on the portal by speaking backwards. Beelzebub restores a lot of cut content, like Horazon's Lair (Shown in the video) fighting Andereal in the woods outside Tristram, and several others. It's pretty fun.
I remember that. Open the door, and "Ahhh... fresh meat!" Then I'd run like hell for a bit(I wanted a sprint key too) and find a good spot to fight him. The thing I really loved about D1 that was the one failing(in my mind) in D2 was the randomized quests. Every time I played D1 the quests were different. You always started with the Butcher or the Skeleton King(sometimes both!) but after that there was some randomization that I really liked.

I was so mad, but back then you couldn’t really do much. Anyways, I just bought an old pc a couple years ago while I was in the navy and I played Diablo 2 again, it was still awesome but a lot of bots. Items weren’t as rewarding. I could never figure out how to do the whole modded D2 and always screwed it up. I briefly played Diablo 3 and I just didn’t like it. Also when LoD came out, those graphics were amazing! That being said, I am pumped for Diablo 4 Free Hong Kong Jeffrey Epstein was murdered... you know
You should at least give Median XL a try, that's a really popular mod. Just google "Median XL download" and its pretty straightforward these days. There's also multiple UA-cam tutorials for installation due to how popular its been. Its got a lot more endgame content and feels really different but worth a try.
hit me up if you want some help setting up Path of Diablo which in my opinion is the best mod for D2 that's out there, I'd be happy to help you get it installed :)

It's PERFECT! But you should have included the fact that the Summoner is not Horazon (which was killed in Diablo 1), but he is a Vizjerei that fought Diablo in Tristram,
Very satisfying, though I stopped at the D2 lore since I’ll be playing D2R here soon. I love how you incorporated all aspects of the lore and scenes from the games. And how you showed all the ‘lesser heroes’ dying in the labyrinth before ‘the wanderer’ showed up. Well done!!

Fuck you I never noticed that before and now thats all i hear, DAMN YOU! (Just kidding but seriously man delete your comment so others dont have cain wrecked)
People keep saying this and I just don't hear it. Nevermind Connery's accent, but his voice is bold and deep and he says is "sh"s hilariously. Cain on the other hand is not as deep, and his voice is reminiscent of a creaking door. I can do a hella accurate Cain voice.... for some reason.
Suppossedly, he did it to prevent Diablo from taking another body and walking again on Sanctuary, using his own to incarcerate him, like Tal Rasha did in the past. Having bested him, he was the only one who was strong enough to keep the Lord of Terror on check. Best idea ever, right?
1. The Wanderer's EQ was full (very plausable). 2. He didn't want to drop any of his epic loot, yet he had to carry the stone (also very plausible). 3. He creatively made a new EQ slot in his forehead (not plausable. He would have used that potential slot way earlier to store a potion, ring or an extra dagger (yes!)).
Millions of respect! This video is amazing must have took a long time, I can garentee out of everyone who has viewed this, likes this. Thank you very much
Same here. I know it's been over 20 years since I last played it but I still remember my first encounter with The Butcher very well. I opened a door, he said Fresh Meat, I screamed, I ran, he chased after me, I screamed some more and ran some more. Cheesed him by staying inside a prison room/wall with bars and shoot him to death with a bow, although I was a warrior and my dex stats sucked. Took forever.
This really makes me want to play D2 again! I reinstalled D1 this morning and played for all of 15 minutes before going, "Enough nostalgia for one day" lol.
The atmosphere and storytelling of diablo 1 immediately made me fall in love. Diablo 2 the same but improved everything was my life for like 2 years Diablo 3? didnt even bother should be a poster child for whats wrong with modern games
I know I am late but WOW thank you for the effort you obviously put into the project! I play Diablo since my dad bought it when I was 9 years old. I'm 31 now and Diablo 1 + 2 are only getting better over time, I really appreciate this. Great video, keep it up! Subbed!
What i loved about diablo 1 and 2 was how it was some twisted demented dreamscape like berzerk. Then just like how berserk 2016 sucked so did diablo 3 because it lost that intimate feeling to the gameplay, graphics through imagination and story. We saw blood but lost the pain to it. Lost the insanity behind it and thats what diablos really about.. shame on blizard for destroying that.

@@Sydmaster i do plan to play d1 and d2, someday... I still have a ton of work and backlogs on model kits and anime. But thanks for the headsup. I do wish d4 will be good though
The poor quality of graphics back in the days makes Diablo1 and even Diablo2 heaps more scarier and sets the mood well compared to Diablo3... Best game of all times D2 :)
Yeah, it definitely makes it scarier, however just remember that the quality of the graphics were extremely high at the time they came out, and they still are perfect for me to this day even if it's a dinosaur compared to the clarity of modern graphics. Newer graphics have their own feel and nostalgia too in their own ways, but I can't live without either at this point.
Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the fact that the new game finally is using someone new? How many times can someone do the sacred ritual to bring Diablo back? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Lily is just going to be a stepping stone to bring Diablo back, yet again, but how many times are we going to do the one thing that can truly kill him?
It really doesn't matter how much we kill any of the Prime or Lesser Evils. As long as Hell exists and continues to spawn demons, they will come back as well. Same thing goes for the High Heavens. As long as the Crystal Spire exists, there will be angels. The Scrolls have also already stated that Hell will win the Eternal Conflict in the end. Humans are just a wild card that the Scrolls do not account for.
Thank you for making this!!! I sure this took a lot of time to record and edit to be just right. I wanted to see the story of the old 2 Diablos again but didn't want to play the whole game again, so thanks.

I remember being completely entranced in this story and playing these games for many years. I always thought this would make the best movie ever.
I remember playing D1 after D2 and thinking "Where's the 'run' button?"
I don't remember there being a portal to Butcher's room.
AngelAngelis Yeah. I like the Belzebub mod a lot. I’m just having trouble with the Updated Diablo fight.
Man that first butcher fight scared the shit out of me, plus there was some level 80 guy in the game killing our whole party of lvl 11’s didn’t help.
This was a great walk down memory lane...thank you!!
1:23:15 Paladin: "Was there something else I was supposed to do before entering hell? I think I recall something about a special rock... spirit stone? soul boulder? Eh, It probably isn't important."
Why has this not been made into a major motion picture? The stories alone are breathtaking! 🙏
Because any big production will ruin it like they do everything.
@@rainbowGZUS7 Sadly true. But it wasn't always like this.
Do you think it is impossible to make a legit film now?

Tyrael: Now, hurry, mortal... Time is running out for all of us!
Hero:
Hero: I dont run ... I walk in style XD
Stay awhile and listen!
OMG it's Deckard. "May the Light protect you and the powers of Heaven shine upon your path..."
FeelsNostalgicMan, this was the first game I ever touched back in 1999, then I played Age of Empires and Comandos, but Diablo was unique and special, scared the shit out of me each time I went down a new level or opened a door and listen to new demons sound, so nice work dude ty for the trip back :)
Me too!
The memories! I played this for years till I grew up! Then I forgot about it when I went to university, then a decade later started playing D3 and now D4 is coming. For the past 3 decades, this game has been a big part of my life.
played this game for almost 2 decades...never knew where any of these names/places came from except for a handful of obvious ones...thanks so much for this
Thank you for this. I started with Diablo 2 when I was in 8th grade, I’m 31 now so you do the math, I remember this game consumed my life lol. I beat Diablo 1 on my grandmas computer after the 1.09 patch with a lvl 95 javazon with the constricting ring before they took it out of the game. It literally was taken off my characters finger.
That being said, I am pumped for Diablo 4
Free Hong Kong
Jeffrey Epstein was murdered... you know
You should at least give Median XL a try, that's a really popular mod.
I'm also 31 and played d2 in middle school. I think 7th grade for me
www.median-xl.com/ !!
I'm also 31 and played the he'll out of d1 and d2, I cant remember when my brither first got on his computer, but I loved playing it. I mightve been 5th grade when he got d2, but I watched him play d1 when I was younger. I still have both ganes on an emulator on my laptop and ive been playing d2 as much as my kids will let me lol. I just got to the 3rd act.
I always come back to this video to stay a while and listen while studying or doing my assignments. Thank you for uploading this!
This is a piece of History. Thank you for that!
And may the High Heavens bless you.
Seraphatum or perhaps... hellfire
I was devestated when deckard died. He was the grandad voice of my favourite game as a teenager, diablo 1. I hope they throw some audio clips from this voice actor in D4 - lore stuff from found books again.
Enemies: rawr!
thorns aura: stop hitting yourself!
Enemy: die
Witch doctor’s 100000 minions: bet
I used to sit back and play both 1 & 2 with my uncle Chris for hours at night, until the earliest of mornings.. I loved 1,2, and 3..I'm waiting for 4!!
I was with you till you said 3. It's just not good. Good time passer. Was good to see the story continue on but that's about it. Where diablo 2 I could play 10 hours a day for Whole summer when I was young.
@@d_no_allyn_86
Hell, I enjoyed it personally. I know quite a few people were not to big on it, I enjoyed the game play, and storyline and even more so once the expansion was released.
@@bryancenterfitt7127 I liked it too, don’t worry.
I ALWAYS FALL ASLEEP SOMEWHERE ALONG THIS VIDEO THEN I HAVE TO GO BACK BIT COZ I DONT KNOW WHAT CAINS TALKING ABOUT
Having been playing for nearly 20 years, I have to say that this is an amazing product and you should be proud. I wish more people would see this.
There are still times when I play single player just to listen to all the dialogue and take in the story again. This is a much faster way to scratch that itch! Thank you for doing this!
It’s gonna be odd not having Cain in 4
Oh they'll muck together a way to have him in it.
Armor.. plot armor deploy!!
@@Knight_lyfe Ghost of Cain, anyone?
I think we will see Cains Brother, remember the old guy in the new gameplay trailer, who is talking to the grave
Cain was the last of the horadrim
Thank you, I know this was a lot of work, appreciate this as a piece of art, and a historical representation of a classic game!
Your vids are really good.
You sir just got yourself anew sub.
Keep up the good work.
It's PERFECT!
But you should have included the fact that the Summoner is not Horazon (which was killed in Diablo 1), but he is a Vizjerei that fought Diablo in Tristram,
D1 sounds effect so much terrifying than D3
even pokemon go is better than d3
D1 and D2 sounds are a lot better than d3 and I have only played d3
Very satisfying, though I stopped at the D2 lore since I’ll be playing D2R here soon.
I love how you incorporated all aspects of the lore and scenes from the games. And how you showed all the ‘lesser heroes’ dying in the labyrinth before ‘the wanderer’ showed up.
Well done!!
Good job on this man, I appreciate it greatly
Damn how am I just now finding this. Excellent work!
Thanks man! This was one of my favourite rpg's back in the day.
im an hour into the video and im loving the Zeal paladin gameplay, zealadin was always my main character, this makes me want to find my old copy and play through on my own.
OG Deckard Cain sounds a bit like someone trying to do an impression of Sean Connery :D
I can do a hella accurate Cain voice.... for some reason.
i'm back playing Diablo 2 and this video is great for the back story of the first two games thank you for making it and uploading it to youtube.
My childhood nostalgia needed this
After all these years I still find these cutscenes impressive.
Never understood why they had to plunge the crystal into the wanderer's head. In D2, Marius carries Baal's soulstone for a while.
Thank you very much
i never knew the butcher got his own portal last time i play after open the door he will chase you
yes, wtf is up with that?
I just read the description and they are playing a diablo 1 mod
It’s from a mod they are using apparently.
4:09 i like how you actually made gameplay footage for this video
I stayed a while and listened.
This really makes me want to play D2 again! I reinstalled D1 this morning and played for all of 15 minutes before going, "Enough nostalgia for one day" lol.
I'm going to sleep to this. Night boyos! Hope the Lord of Terror visits me in my dreams!
The audio of someone playing the game killed it for me
I just realized Tyrael's D2 voice is Malfurion lol
Victor Chong ‘‘tis what he is doing all day in the emerald dream
Man I remember playing Diablo 2 back then I was a kid in near 2010, I still probably have memories playing that game, even diablo 3 as well
Watching king leoric behead his own wife in D3 was pretty heart breaking
everything in D3 was heartbreaking
Thank you for putting this all together, you did an amazing job making all of the content flow together.
This video is absolutely amazing! Nostalgia x 9000
very nostalgic and love how you incorporated game play into the storyline. im enjoying this!!
The atmosphere and storytelling of diablo 1 immediately made me fall in love. Diablo 2 the same but improved everything was my life for like 2 years
Diablo 3? didnt even bother should be a poster child for whats wrong with modern games
Fucking baby wtf is wrong with Diablo 3
The video where Meph talks about his hobbies and The 1Derer transforms into D-Rex is my #1 most memorable game cinematic of all time.
What was the animated segment from? Like the part where the acrchangels try to trap Diablo but Imperius kills him instead
it's a diablo cartoon named "Diablo 3 Wrath".
Around 50:00, it was a really cool touch to have the paladin actually use a fire skill against andariel after Cain's tip. Cool attention to detail
The classic game Franchise that i played for years.
I know I am late but WOW thank you for the effort you obviously put into the project! I play Diablo since my dad bought it when I was 9 years old. I'm 31 now and Diablo 1 + 2 are only getting better over time, I really appreciate this. Great video, keep it up! Subbed!
I remember when that D2 intro looked so good. It still kinda does in a way.
i remember as a kid thinking it looked so life like
Absolute great video, thank you for making this, I planned to watch this tomorrow but as of now I have stayed for more than awhile to watch and listen
Fuck what interesting lore for a game that you play with one hand
What i loved about diablo 1 and 2 was how it was some twisted demented dreamscape like berzerk. Then just like how berserk 2016 sucked so did diablo 3 because it lost that intimate feeling to the gameplay, graphics through imagination and story. We saw blood but lost the pain to it. Lost the insanity behind it and thats what diablos really about.. shame on blizard for destroying that.
Wow. What a timeline movie for Diablo! You deserve more subs and views my man! Count me in!
I'm staying a while to listen :D
X Y yessir same and afterwards be sure to play team fortress :))
Thanks for this, was a good listen while painting cars at work 😁👍
Im catching up on the lore cause i was too young to play 1 and 2, only played 3 now im hype on 4
hi, play atleast the second part. one of the best well rounded arpgs and way better than that miscreated third part. and by looking at what blizzard turned into, the chances that the 4th part will be good aren't that high^^
@@Sydmaster i do plan to play d1 and d2, someday... I still have a ton of work and backlogs on model kits and anime. But thanks for the headsup. I do wish d4 will be good though
you should get diablo 1 on GOG, or, atleast watch someone play it. it's a good game for it's time, much like 2.
@@CallofDutyBlackOps28 i'd rather play it myself.
i have heard of gog. eventually i can get the time to do it. work is a bummer xD
I wanted to do this exact thing; Diablo 2 movie with dialogue while completing quests. this is done better than I had planned, awesome job
Who here because of Diablo 4 trailer? 😁
Diablo 2 was the first online game I ever played, I will never forget the awesome community and amazing game play.
Lord of Terror is coming back...
Me: Ohh boy... here we go again.
blizzard needs to make a diablo movie.
Tbh they would do well to make films, Starcraft, warcraft and diablo all could easily be films
32:35 After all this time, that scream/that music still gives me chills.
I mean the Lord of terror can't really die if people have darkness living within them. Kind of sad but yes.
Plot twist: she brings back mephisto
I’m still pissed at blizzard for killing Deckard Cain darn them.
yeah that was a low blow and the way it happened was very anti climatic too
