crazy how this is now relevant to a game not release for like 3 years AFTER the lore video. I skip much of the dialogs and just want to beat the games. And now we have this character and I wasn't aware it was someone previously mentioned. Wasn't sure if a joke when someone told me it's Mephisto's daughter.

I am deliriously excited for Diablo 4's release. Just discovered this lore series. Absolutely loved this video, Rhykker! Great job. Off to watch the rest. You've earned yourself a subscriber today.
I see that you are a fellow tarnished, say how about we slay both the prime evils and the arch angels, and we rule their worlds Or we can let chaos take their world
Story of Diablo 4 so far has been great and the voice acting and writing of dialogue is one of the best I have ever seen. Going back to these lore vids to catch up on old lore.
Its cool to learn more about the start of the universe and Anu. I love the story of the Nephalem. The Sin War is a great trilogy and i actually started re-reading it earlier this week.
I didn't know you had these lore videos until recently! I will greatly enjoy watching them. Considering Tathamet was originally part of Anu, it makes sense that angels & demons can breed. You could even say that the Nephalem are the beings closest to Anu in his original form.
You sir are one of the reasons I love gamers that care. Long time Diablo 3 player, been thinking of getting the novels. This is a much better way to get the background of this series. And I was just looking for new builds. Thanks Rhykker for caring enough to do these series. Subbed and maybe will support more.
Maybe Anu created his "life coach" as some kind of "self-help" therapy. Anu: **sighs** I dunno...is it better to be made "good" or to rise above one's "evil" impulses through great effort and humility? Life coach: What's with all this philosophical nonsense, Anu! Stop moping around and DO SOMETHING about it, ya panzy! Anu: Your not very good at this whole "life coaching thing", are you? Life coach: **taken aback** Well EXCUSE ME! Guess who's fault that is, your the one who made me or did you forget?! Anu: ...**rethinks his ETERNAL life choices up to this point**

Love the videos man, thanks for doing this series. Gotta say something though, Wolves dont have alphas. The whole Alpha thing came from behaviors exhibited from captive wolves, rather than wild ones. Wild Wolves form packs from family bonds. To extrapolate, I mean that the parents are the leaders, and the children are the followers. Any sort of "Alpha" behavior is just the parents putting their children in line. When the children get old enough, they go on to make their own packs.

This is me in 2021 watching this video and understanding more from this series than I ever did while playing Diablo. Cause you know your brain is focused on thwacking demons left and right. Awesome video! Can't wait to finish the series ~
A wolf "pack" is just a family group with a generational hierarchy. The concept of "alpha" was debunked by the same researcher who coined the term and concept.
I wanna thank you for these videos. I'd never heard of Uldyssian or any other of these characters. I read the Sin War trilogy because of you, a must read for any Diablo lore fan.
Been chatting on a Discord channel and it appears I a the only one who does now know the story...or at least until now. Trying to learn a bit about the lore before Diablo IV comes out in June. Well done sir.
I'm late to the Rhykker party, I've had Diablo on PC since launch because I got it with a year WoW sub deal and have played it here and there. I plan to have it for my Switch though and know I will be logging many hours in handheld. I've read the short stories on the website and LOVED them, always wanted to read more but don't have a lot of time these days. Anyway, planning to watch the rest of these videos as well as anything relevant to my playing in the coming days. You're great at making videos, also nice voice for it !
@@sanstheskeleton8104 Aaaand...also because her hubby has been basically pitting their OWN children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and their distant descendants agianst one another for millennia causing untold amounts of suffering and death for their children and their children's, children's, children and so forth for his own selfish gain. *To be fair Lilith was basically going to do the same,* but atleast she seemed to somewhat care about them, her children on a basic maternal level. (however marginal and limited that truly was..)
If an angel joins the demons and slowly turn into demons themselves... do the 1 million hypothesized capacity of angels be -1 so they can make one more angel, or... they are just screwed and lose one capacity forever? Like Izual? "Tyrael claimed that Izual was slain years ago, but his replacement has never emerged from the Crystal Arch..." -Diablo 3 (Itherael) I am guessing they are just screwed one capacity and they are technically still angels? Like a fallen Angel? Speaking of fallen angels? when Tyrael fell from the heavens, does he also get replaced? I am guessing no and they are screwed on one great angels? Though he just thrones himself as Angel of Wisdom for some reason... instead of Justice...
Fallen angels only applies to archangels i believe so if an angel dies or becomes a demon then another angel can be born to replace them. Malthael is a fallen angel but still considered an angel(as far as im aware) as he is the Archangel of Death.....Tyrael became the Angel of Wisom at the end of diablo 3 because it was thought that the prime evil was eliminated therefore making an Archangel of Justice not necessary so he stepped up as the Archangel of Wisdom which Malthael had abandoned after diablo 2 to become the Archangel of Death
Angels in the Diablo universe don't teh become demons , they can get very dark and demonic like what Maltheal have become , so yea i guess more of an evil fallen angel , they keep their actual angelic body and shape . With Izual the thing was that he lost his solid body the suit of armor and only his esence/core remained and to have one he was given an demon body to serve Diablo , summoned from the black abyss but his actual body remained the same and also he was a normal lesser angel . Angels and Demons also don't really die either , like stay dead for good they can come back .
I just read in the official diablo lore.... angels *CAN* turn in to demons such as "OVERLORDS" or "Fallens". Most famous examples of these *overlords* are: The butcher and Hephasto (Diablo 2 act IV) *LORE*: When the Seraphim (lesser angels) who followed the Angel Inarius into battle were made to pay for the destruction of an infernal temple by an outraged Mephisto, many were forced into unholy servitude to the Lord of Hatred. Inarius himself was bound with tremendous chains as the wings were slowly torn from his back. Great barbed hooks were then used to stretch out his once glowing skin and his features were distorted by the vile powers of The Three. Inarius was made to forever see his own downfall by placing him in a magnificent palace of mirrors. So that his once gloated ego could be contained. Inarius and his Angelic followers were turned into bloated, disfigured visages of their former selves. He and his followers eventually came to be known as the Overlords. Many of them rose among the ranks of Hell to command huge armies and wreak havoc on the Forces of Light. Besides being blood-thirsty warriors, they were skilled craftsmen and one of them, Hephasto, is the Armorer of Hell.
I do love reading the lore books in D3 and item lore and Set Item lore. i learned abit of the rathma name changing and stuff because of the books/set items with necro pack. but this was more in depth and you're great to listen to and made this funny too. look forward to the other video's Rhykker :)

Kyunglish you fight her in Diablo 2 a well .
You're hot.
@@sauciewok8949 that's not canon though.
watching the series again and again
oh man another great new series!
I've never watched your Lore videos until today (getting hyped for the server slam this weekend), this content has me cracking up! Well done haha.
I like that lore! So good. Just wish they made a different style of game that could capture the player's attention. Instead of clicking past all the dialog, to kill more demons.
taylor breck just read the books
You are exceptionally talented at explaining things. Great video and thank you. Now things might actually stick in my head.
Thanks so much for the kind words :)
Albert Ei-lillith, littlith was the demon. lol
really? people thought this was funny?
have you never watched those video clips or ads where they talk about a boy in class who gave the most important speech to his ignorant teacher at school when he was in 2nd grade or something, and at the end they reveal "and his name was, Albert Einstein!" *GASP*
Kaan Demiröz you're a bloody legend
Panda Butter
It was lol. Issa meme
@@okdmrz I've never seen those
Man this is so awesome, the best and most complete about diablo lore vídeo I found on UA-cam.
You got a new sub from brazil, thank you so much for the content, sry my english sucks
Rhykker, give me that heart babe.
Hi ! Came here after DIV announcement, just wanted to say thank you and congratulations cause your explanations are reaaaallly good and the humor is top notch ! Here's a like for you good sir !
Thanks!
So Rhykker's now Diablo's Nobbel...
I LOVE IT!
This is me in 2021 watching this video and understanding more from this series than I ever did while playing Diablo. Cause you know your brain is focused on thwacking demons left and right. Awesome video! Can't wait to finish the series ~
"I sang you a song… you're pregnant now."
This lore series really taken you 5 year's M8 respect sir
Waiting for lore updates now that D4 is revealed!
As a vorthos player, this was great. Please more lore content, please!
A wolf "pack" is just a family group with a generational hierarchy. The concept of "alpha" was debunked by the same researcher who coined the term and concept.
So wolves are just families.
Thanks! I love Diablo II & III mostly because of the story, and I didn't know a lot of this stuff. Good material.
I'm just here to learn more about my new Mommy, after Lady D from RE8
Damn this is so very good and entertaining, thank you for telling this story so well!
"I sang you a song... You're pregnant now."
You speaking from personal experience there, buddy?
Thought these would be boring but they're some of your best videos. Liked
Fun fact: Rathma is the pale being in the diablo 4 trailer
I wanna thank you for these videos. I'd never heard of Uldyssian or any other of these characters. I read the Sin War trilogy because of you, a must read for any Diablo lore fan.
Here after Diablo 4 announcement
Can’t believe it’s been two years since this announcement, still waiting
This was an awesome video. It's a great story and thank you for telling it.
Been chatting on a Discord channel and it appears I a the only one who does now know the story...or at least until now. Trying to learn a bit about the lore before Diablo IV comes out in June. Well done sir.
Simple noob question, i'm just getting into Diablo 3, and i have been given the Game Guide....is it relevant after so many changes?.
They need another button, like doesn't see good enough. Possibly the best diablo lore video ever but I'll talk more about that later...
Played both beta weekends for d4. Time to get topped up on knowledge while I wait for launch in June.
Yooooo, mom is back and she looks PISSSED
she's gonna free Inarius so she can yell at him for not paying child support.

Aaaand...also because her hubby has been basically pitting their OWN children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and their distant descendants agianst one another for millennia causing untold amounts of suffering and death for their children and their children's, children's, children and so forth for his own selfish gain.
*To be fair Lilith was basically going to do the same,* but atleast she seemed to somewhat care about them, her children on a basic maternal level. (however marginal and limited that truly was..)
Finally I was looking for a series like this ! thanks!
If an angel joins the demons and slowly turn into demons themselves... do the 1 million hypothesized capacity of angels be -1 so they can make one more angel, or... they are just screwed and lose one capacity forever? Like Izual?
"Tyrael claimed that Izual was slain years ago, but his replacement has never emerged from the Crystal Arch..." -Diablo 3 (Itherael)
I am guessing they are just screwed one capacity and they are technically still angels? Like a fallen Angel?
Speaking of fallen angels? when Tyrael fell from the heavens, does he also get replaced? I am guessing no and they are screwed on one great angels? Though he just thrones himself as Angel of Wisdom for some reason... instead of Justice...
Fallen angels only applies to archangels i believe so if an angel dies or becomes a demon then another angel can be born to replace them. Malthael is a fallen angel but still considered an angel(as far as im aware) as he is the Archangel of Death.....Tyrael became the Angel of Wisom at the end of diablo 3 because it was thought that the prime evil was eliminated therefore making an Archangel of Justice not necessary so he stepped up as the Archangel of Wisdom which Malthael had abandoned after diablo 2 to become the Archangel of Death
his replacement would emerge when izual dies, it doesnt matter if hes evil, hes still alive.
He has been slain in diablo 2, but he is still a demon in diablo 3.
Most famous examples of these *overlords* are: The butcher and Hephasto (Diablo 2 act IV)
*LORE*: When the Seraphim (lesser angels) who followed the Angel Inarius into battle were made to pay for the destruction of an infernal temple by an outraged Mephisto, many were forced into unholy servitude to the Lord of Hatred.
There is no clear alpha wolf just a dominant couple in a clan-system...
Great explanation I haven't played Diablo since part2 the extension pack but after seeing the new trailer I'm sold
