    Knapp is a giant muscly rubber band. Look at that full rotation. Look at his hands too. So much speed comes effortlessly from the hands. He is the total package for effortless looking power.

    the most important take away here for effortless power is: be young. be strong.

      Doesn’t hurt, but we all are getting older and it’s fun to try and find some extra yardage.

    The stretch at the top also gives you time to move pressure to your lead foot. Most amateurs are still too much on the trail foot as the downswing starts.

      I (ma2) played in a few tournaments back in co years ago when he was 16-17 (mpo, lol) and watching him absolutely bomb the soccer fields up at cmc in glennwood before a round was one of the most awe inspiring moments I’ve ever had. He and his friends were just messing around, doing 360 run ups throwing farther than I’d ever seen a disc fly-especially at high altitude. Made me instantly feel my limitations haha

    Thanks Zach really good insight, as a 60 y.o. who always wants to improve I have subscribed! I love Jake's swing wow it is seemingly the way to swing, I see now that even if you possess a good elastic band, if you don't stretch it, it's not going to help!

    OMG! Look at the muscles in that kid's arms!!! Holy smoke! No wonder he hits the ball a mile.

    • @ZachAllenGolf
      @ZachAllenGolf  2 місяці тому +1

      In telling you though the thing to appreciate is the natural stretch and whip he creates is what gives him %97 percent of his power, the muscles are just to stay in shape prevent injury and probably look good. Guys like him or Rory or Tiger hit the ball as far when they were 17 years old and very little muscle. But they knew how to crack a whip.

  • @yukoncorneliusthelegendhim9751
    @yukoncorneliusthelegendhim9751 2 місяці тому +15

    he gets a full turn and is way more jacked than youre giving him credit for lol. he's probably one of the most ripped dudes on tour right now. all of that combined with tons of hard work and being able to hole a bunch of putts, and you have jake knapp. pretty simple. next to impossible to replicate for the average golfer.

    • @ZachAllenGolf
      @ZachAllenGolf  2 місяці тому +7

      You are correct he is jacked. But he hast lost that effortless whip that he learned as a kid. Most of the people I teach in person do not have that in there swing. Pretty much anyone who drives it 220 or less, or comes over the top, casts, flips, or early extends excessively, this whip does not exist.

    • @nicholasdemetriades9154
      @nicholasdemetriades9154 2 місяці тому +1

      Yes. Zach is 100% correct. Living proof. When I tighten the arms and "try" to hit the ball hard I'm lucky to get 220 yds out of my drive. When I feel the shoulder and lats engage with a short swing and this sinking into the ground feeling with relaxed arms its effortless. Unfortunately its counterintuitive and very difficult to train into my swing. Generally my 3 wood will go 230-240 and drive 260-270. Very hard to repeat because of the hitting reflex.

      None of the tour pros are replicable by amateurs. That's why they're pros and we're not. But there are small takeaways from each pro's swing that we can try to incorporate. Thats all Zach is doing here.

    “not a big guy”. Idk, I saw him in person and while he was not tall, the dude is ripped and muscle bound. He is an athlete.

    What are Jake's wrists doing at transition? It looks like he gets a ton of power by letting his wrists collapse at the top way more than what anyone would teach...

    • @ZachAllenGolf
      @ZachAllenGolf  2 місяці тому

      True he really lets his hands get close to his body in transition. Which allows him to turn even faster. A lot like disc golfers do.

    So many people in the comments think power comes from arm muscles which just proves they know nothing about the golf swing. Look at Akshay Bhatia: power in the golf swing comes from flexibility and path, not “being jacked.”

    Why "effortless" power? The only way I can lose weight is to give "effort". I can live in the 210 range if I drop 20 on the scale...

    • @ZachAllenGolf
      @ZachAllenGolf  2 місяці тому

      Effort creates tension, and we end up pulling the arms, or dragging the club. Trying to make your body more elastic can really help this. Even just the imagery of it.
