Fred's name can always be mentioned when discussing the greats of golf. A silky swing, a champion's attitude, and on his day, he could hang with anyone who's ever played the game.
I had the privilege of meeting him once at Firestone in Akron. He took the time to talk with me and shake my hand. Besides being an absolutely phenomenal golfer he is one of the most down to earth and genuine people I’ve ever met briefly though it may have been. The man is a professional in every sense of the word.
I’m very new to golf at 29 years old, but man, came across one clip of his and all I can say is his swing is absolute perfection. So effortless. Calm, cool and collective. Pure art!!
I discovered this man's GAME GEAR (SEGA) GOLF game this week in 2023 here. Its literally the best on the whole system, which brought me here to see the legendary moments.
I followed Freddie a couple times at Bay Hill when he was at his peak in the early 90's...i was struck by two things, one just how flexible his body was; when he walked he was always kind of gliding along rotating his arms and shoulders, hard to describe but you could just tell his body was super flexible. The second thing was how wide his shoulders were...they are WIDE!!! Dude was a physical specimen.
lol..im a huge fan of freddy since i got into golf in the nineties and saw everything televised he was in but never did i know about this crazy chip till seeing this video
A golf swing you could watch for hours and hours...

That reverse wedge was insane. Going by 40 feet if it missed the pin.

"Chip-in Speculator"
What about the Albatross he hit in the early 90's ?! Short putts to win are not "Greatest shots",
I wonder how old he will be when he can finally grow a beard
Now he's just a grumpy and woke.
