Back then no UA-cam, no Facebook or social media. People across the world felt the power of the mighty LED ZEPPELIN thru the radio and by spinning vinyl. Raw talent in its purest form. Greatest rock n' roll band EVER 🐐💯
Stevie you just heard one of the greatest rock singers of all time.. The great Robert Plant, one of the greatest guitarists of all time ... Jimmy Page and the great John Bingham on the drums..never been a more badass band
The intermission is actually really rhythmic once you get your ears accustomed. It follows a nice pattern, but it takes more than the first listening. Zeppelin were masters at experimenting with sounds, great times. Also, "Babe, I'm gonna leave you" is a must if you want to see pure vocals. But first you gotta develop them Led Zeppelin ears, so maybe Stairway 🤘🔥
So true about developing the led zeppelin ears, when i first started listening to them i only liked whole lotta love and the end of stairway, now? Put it this way i own all 8 of there albums. Tangerine been possibly my favourite, closely followed by rock and roll, stairway, whole lotta love, in my time of dying... i fucking love led zeppelin
@@jordangrieve3636 Tangerine is a massively underrated piece and In My Time of Dying is just insane and then there's Dazed and Confused and the thing is their live performances actually blow away their studio recordings. In my opinion there's never be another band so dominant and which so much impact on the music world and I doubt I'll ever see another one in my lifetime. Absolutely unique and in almost every respect.
The use of the theremin is also so bloody pleasing, love that effect (a sonic metal pole gadget you move your hand around and near to etc to create sounds)
“ Willie Dixon, probably the foremost blues composer of the mid-20th Century, penned a song titled 'You Need Love', which he gave to Muddy Waters to record in 1962. Seven years later, that song's lyrics would be the inspiration for Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love'.” Many Zep songs are built on the classic blues masters’ creations.
1969 was a time of psychedelic music and experimental sounds....Zeppelin had a couple of songs that really delved into that.....most notably this and especially the song Dazed and Confused. Robert Plant was one of the first “Rock Gods”...in fact, he was often referred to as The Golden God because of his gorgeous mane of hair. Jimmy Page was God of guitar back then. John Bonham was and still considered one of the top five rock drummers of all time and many consider him the best. John Paul Jones did bass, keyboards, mandolin and was and still is an amazing musician. Zeppelin fame came from their albums and from their live concerts. They did not release singles. Live they often played for over three hours....and were famous for improvisations on the fly....Each member was tops in their field and together they made a MONSTROUS legend of a band. And had huge influence on hard rock. Watch them live.....You would love Black Dog from the MSG 1973 concert. Or, for sexy as hell blues...watch Since I’ve Been Loving You from the same concert. That will show you how charismatic they were.....absolutely mesmerizing onstage.
Also why I like Stevie's reactions: he'll honestly say when he's heard a song before. Like he said in this intro. How he could've randomly come across one of their songs in life. Meanwhile you got reactors out there that keep pretending like they never heard Bohemian Rhapsody anywhere lol.
I also like how Stevie will tell you he 'heard' a song before, but that he never really 'listened to it'. Meaning he heard it, but didn't pay attention to the lyrics, and when he does it opens up a new experience of depth or understanding. Stevie has some of the most 'honest' reactions around. Either 1st time hearing something, or going back to something 'old' and simply paying attention with new understanding of writing and talent.
FACTS! "You know, I've always heard about him but I've never actually listened to any of his songs. So this'll be a new experience for me! Wish me luck, I hope I like it! Anyway, here is my first totally genuine reaction to Thriller by Michael Jackson!"
You’re right, Robert Plant was the ultimate lead singer/frontman. Others have been great, amazing voices, great entertainers, but this guy was both the most influential rock singer and best blues singer, both at the same time. As for the confusion in the middle, never heard it explained, but my interpretation has always been it was orgasms and light headedness that comes after. Could be off, but, my interpretation.
Also one of the most overplayed, like Freebird by Skynyrd. Led Zeppelin has way better songs than Stairway, but then again, music is subjective, so I digress.
@@CamiMack5616 To each their own. Personally I enjoy both of those songs or at least "just as good" to my ears as pretty much any other song I've heard from those 2 bands(although I do enjoy Kashmir, Achilles Last Stand, Dazed And Confused, and Sweet Home Alabama as well a lot). Both songs have really long build ups that tease you for a long time, with the payoff being an intense climax that catches my attention as a metal head. I haven't listened to a ton of songs from either band though, I'm not big into classic rock personally. I tend to enjoy classic rock songs that are closely related to metal or classical music in sound/structure.
You have no idea how amazingly influential they were and insanely talented. Robert Plant is The Golden God. Oh and an orgasm in the middle is what's going on
As popular as they were they were still experimental with sounds.. In rock music there are times where the instrumentation was the highlight as they actually all played their own music. In that break down the guitarist actually uses a bow from a double bass/violin to play the electric guitar.. Its sort of a psychedelic moment to drift off with the vibe.. Its like a moment of mumble rap in a lyrical rapper song, not about the vocals as much as the vibe and feeling.. same with a lead guitar break, just close your eyes Stevie, sit back and enjoy those moments. You have to remember that bands in the 60s and people attending shows were more open to drugs like lsd and cannabis to enhance writing, performing or attending a show. Listen to The Beatles and tell me they werent experimenting with drugs while doing music... given, not all bands were into drugs etc but pretty sure Led Zepplin were.
Good to see this video... I am a 67 year old white boy that saw Zeppelin live in 1970 and 1974.... back when tickets were less than $10 dollars and the woman were there to play.... good time to live. I went to Page and Plant in 1995 reunion and it cost $ 135 bucks.... still worth it to see them live on stage.
These heavy metal, hard rock British bands are what opened the eyes, ears, and minds of American kids to ... wait for it ... THE BLUES! Led Zep built their foundation on old US Blues artists' material. They did us such a great service by electrifying the old blues tunes.
If any one is wondering what the instrument is in the breakdown of this song in the middle is thats creating that crazy sound, it is a theremin, jimmy page used a sonic wave theremin for this song. One of led zeppelins greatest songs. Trust me, they are all great.
Man Big Dawg Zep has so many great songs!! Give u a few bangers, You shook me, any song from Physical Graffiti album, In my time of dying and many others!! The Goats of Classic Rock!!
Their instrumentals were some of the first that got massive mainstream play at that time. They paved the way for more bands then I can even name! If that minute caught you off guard, please do some TOOL!!! I’d love to see that reaction!
Led Zeppelin - Since I've been Loving You - live at Madison Square Gardens 1973 And if you want a couple of great guitar solos Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven - live at Madison Square Gardens 1973 Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb - live Pulse Concert
I been waiting for this!!! Zep is my favorite band and you're gonna love them stevie. They really were influential on hip hop surprisingly. John Bonham is the master of beats
The middle part: Not just "LSD", but i.e. an interlude w. instrumental play on "the rush of sex", plus Led Zep tunes take you on a journey, a trip! Oftentimes you're not gonna find you're the regular song structure, but very different parts, tempi, themes etc. It's part of what makes their music so awesome. Also, that was pretty common in a lot of 1960s music.
to answer your question at around 6:56, even though I am sure it was answered several times, that bit of .. interlude... is for those that were "expanding their minds". The reason Zeplin's songs, and pretty much all music in that genre from that time period are long and have long stretch's of just instrumental or, "trippy" sounding parts because, for those "tripping" on hallucinogens, LSD specifically, could hear, feel, see and taste the music! :) As an old "Hippy", I speak from experience! :)
🔥reaction homie. Glad to see you branching out a little. Led zeppelin is my favorite group of all time. 1. Stairway to heaven 2. Kashmir 3. The immigrant song 4. Black dog 5. Since ive been loving you 6. Rock and roll This are led zeppelin songs
Common from a Hip Hop background you will like a good bit of Zeppelin. They combine rock, soul & blues like no other. I know for a fact you'd love "When the Levee Breaks", "Ramble On" & "Nobody's Fault but Mine". Funky grooves and just badass!!
You Shook Me, How Many More Times, Since I've Been Loving You, I Can't Quit You Babe from Coda album and Communication Breakdown are great examples of the Deep, Soulful, and Harmonious Scream of Robert Plant's voice are really showcased. There's tons of examples, but these songs always come to mind first.
If you watch the live version or one of the concerts with this song. Jimmy Page the guitarist was famous for playing the middle part with a violin bow on the guitar. Watch it and u will always visualize that part going forward
The first nasty song I ever heard back in the day when I was a tender 13 years old. lol As time went on, I began finding out what he was talking about and I was enamored. ha They were the epitome of what we called psychedelic rock. Page was a genius in his arrangements and playing. I cut my hard rock teeth on this band. Well along with so many others, but Zep was the top of the list. BTW check out The Lemon Song. Great words! ha
This is my favorite band of all time, low key. Physical Graffiti is a masterpiece. If you ever wanna feel something, go watch the tribute to Led Zeppelin, that the band Heart did. It's basically the female equivalent at the time, and the singer wrote one of their biggest hits about the guitarist from Zep, Jimmy Paige. (Magic Man, is the song). Shit will make you cry!
They also have some incredible bluesy songs that you might like. Since I've Been Loving You (live from MSG '73) You Shook Me When the Levee Breaks In My Time of Dying Black Dog The Lemon Song
I promise you won't be let down if you listen to the song When the Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin . It is so powerful that there are no words in the English language To describe how it makes you
The music is what brought us together back in the '60s and '70s. Kids from California to Maine and New York to Texas and everywhere in between listened to the same music and it became a movement that helped end the Viet Nam war and helped the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Bill become law. We did this without the Internet or even cell phones because the music was the wake up call that brought us together to march and peacefully protest for civil rights, women's rights, peace, equal employment opportunity, and all the other social issues we worked to change. I believe without the musical revolution of the '60s and '70s this country would be a lot different and worse today. I wish we had music like that now so we could come together and end the terrible divisions we are living with. Like John Lennon said, "All we are saying, is give peace a chance". "Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one"...✌️❤️
Remember that at this point in technology all those sounds in the center section would have been bouncing from one speaker to the other as stero was just passed the days of "mono" tracks. It was artistic use of the sounds that a lot of bands did at this time.
That middle part was when they were getting a whole lotta love!
That would be correct
LMFAO this comment is underappreciated. You the one.
Yep. Agree.
The breakdown in the middle of the song can be explained with three letters.... LSD
I always thought it was like having an orgasms
Also a valid theory. I can see how that would be a musical translation of an orgasm.

i'm glad you're expanding Stevie really like your reactions keep it up bro 👍
Metallica "One", all I need to say.
Great reaction Stevie! Love to see more rock reactions
The only real difference between music then and music now is subtly.
No way!!
No!! the difference is the music was raw talent. Today's music is horrible
Bro!!!!!! You finally did it!!!! Thankyou!!!!!! My fav band ever!
💯❤️👍
Man Big Dawg Zep has so many great songs!! Give u a few bangers, You shook me, any song from Physical Graffiti album, In my time of dying and many others!! The Goats of Classic Rock!!
I'm almost 69 years old.😩 I saw Led Zeppelin in 1970!🔥😁 My first concert and first acid trip!🤯😂 A life changing moment!💯❤️✌️
Their instrumentals were some of the first that got massive mainstream play at that time. They paved the way for more bands then I can even name! If that minute caught you off guard, please do some TOOL!!! I’d love to see that reaction!
Led Zeppelin - Since I've been Loving You - live at Madison Square Gardens 1973
And if you want a couple of great guitar solos
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven - live at Madison Square Gardens 1973
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb - live Pulse Concert
Check out some of Zeppelins older blues tracks. “You shook me” “I can’t quit you babe” or “how many more times”
Zeplin was the first band to have a 737 jet as there tour bus ...
You get it, my friend.
🔥reaction homie. Glad to see you branching out a little. Led zeppelin is my favorite group of all time.
1. Stairway to heaven
2. Kashmir
3. The immigrant song
4. Black dog
5. Since ive been loving you
6. Rock and roll
This are led zeppelin songs
If you want to hear his voice at its raw best - listen to Dazed and Confused, You Shook Me - just great great vocals and songs in general.
You should see the live version of this song from Madison Square Garden, 1973. Mind blowing.
Loving the rock breakdowns, keep it up!
Yay!!!! So glad to see you finally get on Zeppelin 🤘🤘🤘
He could give any woman on the planet a "Whole Lotta Love "
Common from a Hip Hop background you will like a good bit of Zeppelin. They combine rock, soul & blues like no other. I know for a fact you'd love "When the Levee Breaks", "Ramble On" & "Nobody's Fault but Mine". Funky grooves and just badass!!
Led Zeppelin influences was old blues records over in England the band’s that came out in the 70s was into all the old blues records
I can understand each word in classic rock metal songs cause I've been listening to metal/classic rock for 18 years
You Shook Me, How Many More Times, Since I've Been Loving You, I Can't Quit You Babe from Coda album and Communication Breakdown are great examples of the Deep, Soulful, and Harmonious Scream of Robert Plant's voice are really showcased. There's tons of examples, but these songs always come to mind first.
You should probably do Black Dog, When The Levee Breaks and/or Communication Breakdown
Great words! ha
Stevie, stay with Zeppelin... they will not disappoint. Life changing music. Enjoy the reactions, keep it going!
Somehow I missed this!!!!!grrrr!!! My favorite band of all time. Hope you enjoy them.
I like how u like all types of music and move to it keep it up bro
Enjoy the led zep rabbit hole big fella.. Awe the best.. Superb as usual 👌
Some great blues rock! Listen to “you shook me” or “I can’t quit you babe”. Great blues rock tracks by Zepellin
They also have some incredible bluesy songs that you might like.
Since I've Been Loving You (live from MSG '73)
You Shook Me
When the Levee Breaks
In My Time of Dying
Black Dog
The Lemon Song
I promise you won't be let down if you listen to the song When the Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin . It is so powerful that there are no words in the English language To describe how it makes you
Steve, now that you've finally opened your ears, open your eyes!!
Love your open mindedness to music 🎶 ❤ 🙌🏽 that's real 💯
Remember that at this point in technology all those sounds in the center section would have been bouncing from one speaker to the other as stero was just passed the days of "mono" tracks. It was artistic use of the sounds that a lot of bands did at this time.
My favorite..Thank You by Led Zeppelin. Later in life... Bad Ass Chris Cornell sings song on howard stern show.
