JIMMY PAGE is a GOD! Not only is he greatest guitarist of all time, his on stage swagger is so captivating !! While a lot may be staring at Robert, my gaze is fixated on Jimmy ❤
Jimmy is using a Sonic Wave theremin during the wild middle part of the studio and live recordings of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love. The Sonic Wave features only one antenna, controlling the pitch, while loudness is controlled by a volume knob. The man is a genius.
Like I said before, these guys in concert are AWESOME! The songs vary every time. Jimmy goes off and the whole band is just so tight. What a great time to be in HS/College. So blessed to grow up with the BEST bands EVER. They reached your heart/soul like NO other band.
Jimmy uses a theremin (the object he's waving his hands around to make radio noises). Jimmy was a wizard that night lemme tell you. Next thing to watch from Zep is dazed and confused from the same concert, sublime musicianship
It is interesting how 2 legendary bands differ live Pink Floyd stay as close the the studio version as possible and then just stretch your soul just a bit more, but Led Zeppelin had the attitude that you've heard the studio version so many times let's just have some fun and totally jam the fu*k out of it.
"Is that an antenna?" Yes, actually... the vertical antenna controls the pitch of the theremin; the horizontal antenna controls the volume. The theremin responds to the proximity of the player's hands within the electromagnetic field around the antennas. It's the only musical instrument that doesn't need to be touched to be played.
Flippin' Heck, what a killer guitar solo from Jimmy Page!! Wow!! They really went to town on this version - mind blowing! An incredible band, all members playing an equal part - fantastic drums from John Bonham, wonderful bass from John Paul Jones (such a talented musician who plays many instruments), Jimmy Page, one of the best guitarists ever and brilliant vocals from Robert Plant. Whole Lotta Love with its unforgettable riff - there's not a lot more you can say really. Many thanks for the reaction guys, I can see you really enjoyed this one!!
That was a theramin that Jimmy was playing around with. He had so much fun with it.....did you catch the huge grin on his face as he and Plant played off each other? Jimmy was never as happy as he was when he shared a stage with Robert.
they were at their best during this tour.Zeppelin always made there songs better live. their show built up to just under 4 hours long. George Harrison from the Beatles went to see then during this time and asked a friend how long their show was. he said 4 hours Harrison said"im not staying here for 4 hours". George then admitted he stayed the whole time and was never bored. best band ever. best live band ever.
Wisest thing my daddy ever did was not to allow me to see Zeppelin in concert in 1977 when I was 15. I would have been lost to the road. Robert and Jimmy are THE definition of rock gods. Love your passion guys!!! Great reaction! 👍👍
Yes yes yes. Also, I mean this completely utterly totally: All Led Zeppelin. As genius and legendary as Page and Plant are, Jones and Bonham are even more so. They both have influenced pretty much ANYONE playing bass/organ in Jones’ case and Drums in Bonham’s. Read John Paul Jones’ career boo sometime.
Brilliant concert - Comments have mentioned "Dazed & Confused" - from the same concert......If you thought you have seen it all - be prepared for one hell of a surprise.....I wont give any spoilers & ask others don't. You all know which part I am talking about so let's get a reaction when they see ..... & hear. Omg ! ! ! - It's not called Dazed & Confused for nothing, although this live version could be called - Stunned & blown away. Truly awesome experience. Great reaction to this & the Theremin antenna.
Jimmy is using what's called a theremin. It's kind of the equivalent of an invisible string instrument. He waves his hand in certain positions in front of it to produce the sound and the pitch. Pretty funky!
You guys are number one in the reaction business for me. You work well together ( u should being bro’s!) I like the passion of the one bro who is introducing the chilled out bro to these classics. Surely the bro (Patrick is it?) who hasn’t heard these tunes before has caught the other bro playing them around the house etc over the years? Anyways it’s all good!
Saw em live in 76. Freaking cold blooded rock n roll. Thanks for the viewing guys. I enjoy your reaction guys. The theremin was origally used to create eerie sounds in old Sci Fi movies.
Man this is old times, I was having my 3 rd kid when this came out in 1969 radio played the hell out of this song. Not this version. But the old version which is much better.🎶🎶🍻🍻💗💗
And by the way, that Theremin was going through an Echoplex sitting on top of his amp (Hence the Echo effect on the Theremin. When his other hand was moving. There's a lever in the Echoplex where you can maneuver it one way to have a fast echo, or the other way and slam the wall to get a big thunder clap sound from his amp. It sounds really cool up close. I need one of these for my guitar and amp so badly. Fun machines when improvising. 🤙
Wow!! Yes, Plants improvising, and Jimmy wailing, Jones and Bonham...OMG! Incredible performance. Please check out their live Dazed and Confused while your at it. Thanks!🎸🔥
I was there I saw that same concert at the L.A. Forum back in the 70s I don't remember it was like 1975-76 and then they came back one last time a couple of years later to tour their Presence album and I saw that also.. this is kind of an old video and nobody will probably even read this. Does anybody remember Linda Lovelace? she was at that concert and she introduced the band...
Harrison or Lennon said they played for 20 min's sometimes didn't bother tuning the guitars since the screaming girls drowned it out. They asked Jimmy how long they played? Page said 2.5 to 3 hrs. Blew everybody else outta there.
Soul Train Bro... if you don't know about him... he reacted to every song from every LZ album, almost all unreleased / rare songs, and so on. He is now actively making reactions to LZ bootlegs
@@bllacklightt I know Soul Train Bro - great guy but didn’t see that reaction (it may have been one of his longer ones I didn’t catch). I still want to see these guys react to it, though. STB is so...cerebral by comparison. 🤟🏼I just came off of nearly 6 weeks of working 14 hour days, so need to catch up on STB. 🤗
Forgot to say there's another great song from this concert which I've watched on UA-cam - it's called Rock and Roll and it's brilliant. Also I would love you to react to In the Evening (fantastic riff), Nobody's Fault But Mine (great drumming) and The Rover (again another great riff) And of course they are all fab! Many thanks guys.
I have a led Zeppelin tattoo from when I was 13 I'm now 56, I chose to do it to show the world that zep are the greatest rock band of all time, they influenced so many bands through a huge range of genres

glad to see you guys have come back to visit LZ...i know you have recently been visiting many other artists (as you should)...i hope you have become more even more appreciative of the brilliance of LZ!!
1st year of college I would wake up to this song every day...without fail ....as My roommate would blare this - in the process waking up the entire floor! He would then follow with some Aerosmith (Train Kept A’Rollin). We were all fully awake thereafter!
Yeah this is a perfect performance to see what Jimmy can do with that 1959 Les Paul. He takes that thing from one end to the other! Check out this song on the live album "How the West Was Won". It has even more songs in the medley!

Yep, every time!
Led Zeppelin gives you a whole album worth of material in one fuckin’ song!
I was just thinking that whilst I watch this…love the reaction of the Bro’s…
this performance alone proves that Jimmy Paige is THE GREATEST guitarist everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Jimmy is using a Sonic Wave theremin during the wild middle part of the studio and live recordings of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love. The Sonic Wave features only one antenna, controlling the pitch, while loudness is controlled by a volume knob. The man is a genius.
Through a distorted guitar amp (or two) and an Echoplex delay, & probably in stereo 👍.
Yeah, there’s no volume knob on the theremin. He’s just using the echoplex for effect
A mad genius for sure! Unquestionably the coolest man in history to ever play a theramin.
“Jimmy Page is an outlaw”. Love it!!
Also, enough can’t be said about JPJ in this song. Just incredible, grooving bass playing throughout. What a band

@Alfie 02-You were at this concert? I never got the chance to go. I must admit I am so envious!
Do some research on the theremin. It's a pretty cool thing and it's amazing how Jimmy used it for the live shows.

Yes! I think Zeppelin was the pioneer of changing up concert songs. My favorite is the half hour version of dazed and confused.
Much more funky than the studio version. Just excellent stuff.
That is perfectly said my brother I have never heard that before. But it's perfect. I am high on LED zeppelin! Until next time stay well
watch how often jimmy has his eyes shut!!! he FEELS the music, it just flows from him
Robert Plant with the original mic drop! What a way to end an epic concert!
Still touring in summer 2024.
You should do their 28:57 version of Dazed and Confused from the same concert. AWESOME 👍👍👍
Yes it's bloody awesome!

All I can say!!! I was at this show!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Hmm, then I think I'm going to have to hate you.
The best there ever was!!! They are magical, mystical and leave you feeling like you've had a spiritual experience full of joy and love!!!🎶🎶❤❤❤
Never heard this Version...thank you for that...great experience...great on stage......
Perfect comment", they mess with you like no one else can", exactly crazy good
Eargasm music bro's, glad you finally got to see it.
The best part of that Jimmys thermin part is listening to Jones/Bonham hold it down in the background
....and this is why they are my favorite band of all time

And of course lets not forget about John Paul Jones and Bonzo.. 💕
Jimmy is freakin' amazing. Hear that bass and drums in the background? omg Have you guys done "The Ocean" live yet? (from this show) It's great.
My favorite version of this song is the Knebworth show in '79. No bells and whistles. Just straight up rock and roll and it sounded just as powerful.
