    Thanks for the video, considering buying these or the CPE210.First question, What UTP cable do I need to extend distance between the poe output of the power adapter and the poe lan0 on the accespoint(Extend to 20 meter)?Second question, What I am missing is the setup between the access point and the modem/router of the internet provider, because I think the access point needz to be in the same IPrange as the IPadress of the router, otherwise the client won't get access to the internet or am I wrong?Thanks for answering. One more question is the software of the CPE510 the same as the type CPE210?

    Please be aware regarding the (DFS) Dynamic Frequency Selection on 5 GHz. DFS is prioritizing military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar.
    That means that your link will disconnect between 1-10 minutes if it will find a military radar, satellite communication, and weather radar use in you neighboorhood.
    The sellers of 5 GHz links, as TP-Link, are talking quietly about this. I had to learn it the hard way.

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  3 роки тому

      This is not being quietly spoken about its a nature of the beast. DFS are typically reserved for Radar. To get FCC certification to use the channels are legally required to include such a check and balance to ensure the wireless use is not interfering with said radar.

    • @gagarinone
      @gagarinone 3 роки тому

      @@TPLINKTECH You and other companies doesn't inform us customers, when you advertise this products, about DFS.
      It took me 2 days to understand that it wasn't my setup which were wrong.
      For any user where stabilty of a WiFi connection is important, any equipment using DFS should not be used.

    Is the repeater mode in therms of transmission power and not bandwidth as good as a AP?

    At 4:16 where it says "security: none" you need to select wpa 2 or wpa 3, because wep and wpa have almost no security, other people can connect but also see your traffic.
    Wifi networks are scanned in bulk very often, don't assume nobody will reach your network :)

      @@Duckathan as long as they have line of sight with the main AP they should be able to connect. Though in your situation I would actually recommend the EAP225-Outdoor instead of the CPE210. Using the TP-Link Omada Controller you can wireless Mesh the units to each other They transmit Omni-directional instead of Directional and they operate on both 2.4GHz instead of 5GHz. and using the controller they can all be managed at one time instead of individually. the EAP225-Outdoor has a maximum range of 150 Meters so that would more than suffice for 200 feet between the units.

      Height limits would be the limits of the ethernet you are using the only requirement is that the two units have clear line of sight and are in range of each other. On the Client side you can connect an AP or router to allow multiple clients to connect. On the AP side it would be a one to one connection with the router.

    • @TPLINKTECH

      That would be accurate for any open network. You would want to secure your network always. With the CPE however a client would need to have line of sight and be within the beamwidth of the CPE to be able to communicate with it.

      For CPE systems that is very difficult to do. It's not like an Omnidirectional low-power system that is easily influenced but other systems in the area. These systems are high power and very line of sight. The main interference factor is if something obscures the line of sight of the system.

      That's happening when the (DFS) Dynamic Frequency Selection, on 5 GHz, is active.

      I'm no expert but basically yes. You can select Range Extender, Access Point, or Bridge based on your needs and connect devices compatible with 5ghz wifi (like most phones and computers.)
      Keep in mind that this is a very directional signal, it's not going to be well suited for "moving targets." You can connect a cellphone to the wireless signal, but you would be better off with something omni directional.
