Lovely JZS you got there! I’ve recently got hold of one myself , not sure on keeping to manual swap atm. Have you got a post up on the PistonHeads forum , thinking it’s the same car or possibly previous owner?
Thank you! Gratz on the new car! they're good fun! Yeah same car/guy. I'm keeping mine auto, suits what I use it for, daily driving/VIP style. You can get more out of them if you go manual for sure 👍
@@edd90k enjoyed reading the little build thread on PistonHeads & I know what you mean the autobox does suit them when your cruising about & it’s not the worst box by a long way! What’s the next plans for yours ? Is it still stock mechanically no power upgrades?
Thanks. Yeah still stock, it has the suspension mods and audio upgrade but the rest is as it left the factory. To he honest with you the 1jzgte is enough for daily driving. I had things like hks intake etc but found that it took away from the comfort the car has. Being my daily driver, I'm just trying to find that nice balance between comfy/good for daily task and actually cool for me to look like/own :) As said, I'd like air ride, custom exhaust with a "loud" button and a lip kit to tidy bring the front a bit lower. But all hard/expensive to do right now.
Hi mate how you getting on with the car? I got a vx a few months ago and love it. My navi wasn't working for a start wouldn't read the disk now works all of a sudden. I'm looking to put an android head unit in it similar to what you've got, any issues installing it? Cheers in advance
Hi, yeah all good 👍 still going strong as Toyota's do! Mine never worked, has been disconnected and only works for climate control. No issues installing it but you need a beatsonic adaptor imported from Japan. As these cars require to have the screen active for sat nav etc and without that you won't get sub/speakers working properly. It can be done by a proper sound shop by using resistors etc and rigged to work without it but for a DIY it's easier to just import an adaptor 👍
No problems 👍 yeah, if you search for "beatsonic mvx-43b" that should give you the full jzs171 kit including the surround/trim piece. The prices are all over the place, used items often popup on auctions

@@chappy2121 I'm down in west-sussex! :) I think there's a few round this end, have seen a couple at car meets/shows but they're very rare in the uk!
