Love to see another manual 171 going around!
A few of us kicking around in Melbourne now
This became to be one of my favourite Videos ever !! Listen to it about 15 to 20 times a day :D
Going to buy one
Me too. Obsessed with the sound. This exact car is for sale atm actually.
@@KnLAutoDetailing exactly This car does Not Go out of my mind. About 24k is the price to have it here in Switzerland. I requested already ;)
@@KnLAutoDetailing have you listed it anywhere?
Cool! Love my Crown wagon. That is probably the only manual swap in oz.
We have a few down here. There is even one that is 2jz swapped with a tr6060.
THIS IS EARGASM !!!
Holy shit, I want one soooo much!!!!!
That’s wicked
Thankyou Sir 😊
We need some more videos of this..
As i get better filming/editing this car will make more appearances
Yay! Sututu
makes me want to manual swap my crown even more now
They don't drive as nice when converted but they are much better and actually sound nice without the auto
@@KnLAutoDetailing what do youmean dont drive as nice?
@@deathrager2404 it is a bit lazy on throttle, clunky, lacks vvti. Runs rich. Basically the ecu and tcu like to talk in crowns and now mine nolonger has the tcu everything is slightly out of whack. One day i wish to put a haltech in
@@KnLAutoDetailing ty
Can you get the standard ECU remapped, or do you need a standalone for that?
love the build, how'd you get the reverse cam in the main head unit?
There is a little splitter box that was in the car when it was imported that allows 2 video inouts into the vtr. I don't know how it works but i did pot about it in the modern crown owners page on fb
That is beautiful what a car, is it your daily? Heard there heavy on fuel whats it like now?
Hey mate, yes it is my daily now. On the fuel front it os dreadful. Runs very rich. Get about 400km to a 60l tank. I think it is actually worse as a manual due to certain ecu related things and how the swap was done.
Beutiful
Would love to know the parts you sedan for manual conversion gbox cluch pedal etc
Hi David,
Pedals, handbrake, remote shift R154, factory LSD and a host of aftermarket goodies all pinched off my old JZX110 MKII
What handbrake are you running? I currently can't find a JZX100 handbrake to buy and my is200 handbrake works but I had to cut a whole lot of the trim.
Cheers
You have to cut a whole bunch of trim regardless. I'm using a jzx110 handbrake
How did you make the shifter boot or is it somthing that can be purchased?
The shifter boot is also something I grabbed from my old JZX110. It is just the standard toyota JZX110 boot sandwiched in the auto surround. Definitely seen neater and something I will be revisting at some point but it is good enough for now.
Fucking beautiful
Did you do the conversion? Does it have an r154 in it
Do you know what car the handbrake is from. Im doing the same to my JZS171 wagon too
Hi Hayden,
The conversion was done by a shop as the car was purchased during one of Victoria's many and long lockdowns. Everything in this conversion was sourced from a wrecked jzx110 Mkii that I used to own.
What wheel specs are you running?
Sick set-up too bro!
Hey Daniel, wheels are 18x10 +19 HP disc wrapped in 245/40 michelin ps4. They were made to order through autotechnik in sydney
Where did you get the manual swap done from? Did it come from Japan already swapped?
Hey mate. The guy that did my manual swap no longer works there but the place was called urban automotive.
I have a royal extra from the same generation really wondering where can I get parts for the brake pads and rotors. I live in Canada .
Hi Jeff. I believe they should be the same as is200/300/altezza. I know for the athletes they are
@@KnLAutoDetailing tjanka
Hey guys, wondering if you've ran into any rego/roadworthy issues with your manual swap?
The car was rwc and regoed before the swap. I do plan on registering it as a manual given it is a straight swap from the chassis. It does have a check engine light however as a result which wouldn't pass a rwc.
Where was the microphone located ? inside the engine bay ?
Dual mics set up, one next to the intake and one on the rear bumper. It is a combination of 2 seperate mic kits into my Nikon D800
Hey man, how’s you get the headunit to work in English
I'm not sure i know what you mean?? The screen is exactly as it was in Japan. Everything is in Japanese with one or two words being in english.
What gearbox was used for the conversion?
Also I believe you can mitigate the tuning issues you mentioned with a transmission emulator.
It is an R154 from a JZX110. Yes an emulator would fix the problem but it won't solve things like fueling. A standalone would fix everything but that is more investment than i am willing to spend atm.
@@KnLAutoDetailing I've never heard about the fuelling issues before, I assumed the emulator was supposed to take care of all that.
Do you have more details on the issue? I had planned to manual swap without a standalone...
@@BlueXonar nuh fuelling is because i'm running double factory boost on a highflow turbo and still have stock fuel system.
@@KnLAutoDetailing ahh gotcha!
how good is the kurtz dumppipe
So good. Little hard for me to compare side by side as i did it at the same time as the hypergear went in but all the other jz boys i know can report better responce
Where did you get the exhaust from? !
I believe i bought it through rhd japan. It was many a few years ago now though so can't confirm with the invoice. It is the blitz nurspec for a jzx110 slightly modified to fit the crown
If you don't me asking which car importer did purchase the car from, cause I am looking at getting one myself but don't know which importer is legit. Thanks
Hi, this car was personally imported by an ex employee of Apex in Thomastown. I bought off the guy who imported it for himself but never registered it. I have in the past imported through japdivision in Clayton/oakleigh and jdmhq as well. Both were very good.
@@KnLAutoDetailing thank you
Что за штука где пепельница?
Gfb g force. Boost controller
i also live in melbourne and i also have jzs171 sedan. can I copy your build?? and what shop did you take it too?? BEAUTIFUL BUILD MAN LOVE IT...
Thankyou, my build is pretty generic jz. The shop that did it is the place i bought the car off. I had my old wreck sent to them and they did all the work.
@@KnLAutoDetailing mate what's the name of the shop? I've got a crown coming and everywhere I've asked have said they won't/can't do a manual conversation. Cheers!
@@GT1337abc urban automotive. I think you're asking the wrong people
@@KnLAutoDetailing thanks!
@K & L Detailing What price did it cost to convert this to manual? I got quoted by a company for the price of $8000+ depending on what type of gearbox and clutch. This is using new gearbox and clutch. I am curious as I don't want to get ripped off. Thank you
I AM FULLY ERECT
😂😂😂😂
This thing looks mint 🤌 makes me miss my jzx.
How do you find the Shockworks ride? I had some of their early gear on my x100 about 10 years ago and they were super comfy.
If you ever want to sell it, I’d be keen.
Hey mate. I actually already sold it late last year. The shockworks are absolutely mad. I love them and want to put them on every car going forward. My set however were actually for my jzx110 and i transferred them over to my Crown. As a result they were incorrectly valved and sprung. A bit too bouncy for ultimate comfort. In the 110 they rode much better than stock and i had the thing like 50mm off the road
