Hi Inga, I enjoy your podcasts. I'm sorry you are still too cold to record outside. You have such a lovely view. I wanted to tell you that when my first 2 grandchildren were born (14 and 13 yrs ago) I knit many nappy covers which we call "soakers". They cover the cotton cloth diaper and are made of 100% wool. They were fun to knit. It was like magic because some properties in the wool (or maybe in the lanolin) remove the urine smell from the soaker. The wool also absorbed urine from the cotton so the baby's skin didn't get a rash. The other cool thing about wool soakers is that you just pull them off the baby and leave inside out to dry. They were washed once a week and we added liquid lanolin once a month. I couldn't believe that they worked so well. Long winded story about one use of Lanolin! :) I live 50 miles north of San Francisco, in California wine country. I am spinning 100% Corriedale from a local sheppardess that is a gorgeous light gray with a little brown. I am addicted to spinning and knitting.
Ahh, listening to you is just what I need!
Doesn’t matter how long it’s always enjoyable! I’ve been sitting knitting 🧶 socks listening and watching you ! Absolutely joy in knitting 🧶 I ages! Hugs & xx 😘
Look at yourself in a mirror holding that new pink/coral yarn! Your skin is glowing. Can’t sit to see you wearing it. 💖
Thank you💕
I love how your stash is growing and growing (and growing) with every episode😊 I‘m very curious to see how it looks right now 😂 the colours are just beautiful and they fit your room very well. So the perfect background for a knitting podcast!
I simply love the first garment shown the colour is perfect for you. The long jacket is amazing and will keep the family warm. Love your acquisitions and find them so interesting. Take care and enjoy the spring
I used wool when cloth diapering my kids. You lanolize the wool diaper covers to make them leak resistant. We lived in the central valley of CA at the time where it's very hot. The breathability of wool covers greatly reduced diaper rashes. When you wash the covers you'd need to re-lanolize them by emulsifying the lanolin in warm soapy water (sloomb cubes were my go-to soap at the time) and adding that to the covers which would be in a warm soak. You'd squeeze the water out just like when hand washing sweaters in a towel and air dry after that.
You can totally pull off that pink!! 🌸🌸🌸
Ah you always make me feel it’s normal to cast on all the things! I totally agree with your philosophy 🥰 I cannot believe how much colourwork you achieved! 👏🏻 I always love your episodes and laughed at your end bloopers 😂
Happy belated birthday. My husband and his sister share the same birthday 5 years apart and 30 years
later our daughter arrived 15 days late on the same date.
I love the acquisitions part!😊
Lovely episode again. I really want to buy one of those project bags soon, I live in Belgium so it feels local and I noticed that she will have bags made of scraps fabric later this weekend
Come to Denmark! We have spring. Sun, storm, rain, sun, a bit of snow , sun and and
Hi Inga. Lovely podcast as always……BUT show me the snow ⛄️ lol. I know it must get a bit, same old same old snow for you…but we hardly ever get any and when we do it doesn’t last long. I love freshly fallen white stuff…soo pretty 😍 xxx
As soon as I received a notification, I started watching this :) I love all of your pinks! so fun. where I live (the pacific northwest of the US), we don't really get snow. But, it just snowed yesterday for the first time all winter IN APRIL lol. and happy belated birthday!
Whats happening with global warming, its april we dont want snow😂
Also in the PNW (Washougal)- got 11” yesterday, all melted today, another 1-3” projected for tonight! And 1/2” hail to top it off! Great day to stay home :)
@@KK7THK Can you send that "wet stuff" down my way (to northern California), pretty please? I have forgotten what rain feels like. :)
Lol keep it coming down to San Diego please!! Was 96 Fahrenheit here this week.
Lol…. I love to see your clip at the end… hilarious and very relatable that this happens all over the world..
. Happy knitting
Hi Inga,
That was a little bit of everything haul, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Your choice of colors for the big sweater jack is perfect they really bring out the design. LOVE, love, love the pink. It's so weird how I am nuts for Pink, but I also am crazy about rust, green, browns, and some blue. Go figure.
Have a ball casting on,
xoxo's Sandie
lovely selection of interesting things . enjoyed seeing the Alder dyeing . Some years ago life circumstance took to living in beautiful surrounding to one of great challenges . In an effort to be more appreciative I decided to dye a project of found objects from a block distance around my apartment . There was a very unloved park with alder trees so that colour you showed was very much a memory of mine . Hoping the neighbour finishes their work and you get some P&Q in the meantime as you say "thank heavens for knitting "
Happy belated birthday! I so enjoy your podcast. Love the tulip sweater and pink is a good color for you.
Inga-that straw colored yarn is so beautiful. It will be a beautiful summer top. Also that new grey sweater looks so wearable. Thank you and be well!
Looooove your behind the scenes 😁 Happy easter
I can relate to spring taking it's sweet time to arrive. Currently in a white out blizzard here in the Canadian prairies that they are calling the worst storm in decades. I'm just trying to distract myself with knitting, gather my candles in case of power outages and hope after that we finally get some spring weather soon! Wishing the same for you.
I’ve knitted a lot of J C Rennie but only on a knitting machine. I respect you a great deal with hand knitting it. 😍
Another fantastic podcast😅 thank you Inga
Thank you so much for another great episode! I love your esthetic and how many projects you work on at once! Right up my alley 😁 Happy Belated Birthday! Xoxo
Thank you, Inga for another lovely Podcast. Enjoy your snow, I’m in tornado season now! 😳
Love that Tulip sweater!
i’m very jealous of your ability to wear your knit ware all year. In south Alabama is is hot most of the year. I rush to wear as much as I can when it is winter. Love your new sweater. the scallop on the bottom is beautiful. Color palates are earthy and cozy. Look forward to each podcast. 😄
Gotta love one's neighbors. 😊
Good podcast none the less.
Inga, could you please talk about how you wash your knits? I thought you always had to handwash but I'm intrigued by the idea of putting them in the washing machine. It would be much easier to wash sweaters that way, I bet!
Yes all my wooly sweaters( not superwash and very fuzy moahir) i throw im at 30 celcius wool program eoth wool soap😁
Such a great episode. Thank you!
I usually 8-tie my hanks at 3 places for dyeing. Helps keeping them in line.
Hi, Inga! Happy Birthday🎂🎉🎉. I hope you had a good day. I love your tulip sweater. All of your WIPs are looking good. I’m partial to the colour work cardigan that you’re knitting… it’s so fantastic❤️
Oh, I am loving your sweater too!
Hi Inga, happy belated birthday! Love your podcasts, you are so funny - baby diarrohea😂 keep the yarn vomit and undo it gradually over a few weeks. Wool is a great teacher of patience💖. Love and hugs from Shetland. 💖
Happy belated birthday. Loving the pinks. Can’t wait to see the FOs🧶❤️
I just love your podcast. I'll be in Bergen and Alsund in June! Can't wait to buy some yarn while I'm there.
Oh there's nothing like a bit of drilling from "them next door" to test anyone's patience! 🙄 You got there in the end, for which we are eternally grateful 😊 Love watching your podcasts, hope the sun returns soon so you can work on your No Frills again.
Belated Happy Birthday!🎂🎉🎈
Thanks for persevering and completing your podcast despite your noisy neighbor. I loved the color of your tangled yarn. Perhaps you could use it for stripes.
Wow, you've made so much progress on that colorwork cardigan! Jasmine is my favorite scene too 😊
Hey Inga - I know this message is so late - this book was written by the lady with the Lovely Greens podcast TANYA ANDERSON - A WOMAN'S GARDEN - it is awesome and divides plants into eating - dying/crafting - health/beauty - allsorts - so you know what plants to grow for different things - like maybe soap. It really is my fave current book because everything is in one place. If you can grow calendula you're pretty much OK I think....
❄️💙☀️Happy Birthday, Inga!! Thanks for sharing!! ❄️💙☀️
You will look beautiful in the pink! (Oregon-- hail yesterday--looked like it had snowed!)
Lovely inspiring episode, your editing is great it just seemed like one continuous recording. Happy Easter !
Hi Inga! Just thinking about you yesterday while I was walking seemed ages since watched your podcasts!! But there you were ?. Love all colours you use ! I’m same as you never wear pink often it’s just not a colour I prefer I’m mostly rustic like you! Socks are gorgeous and wow! That pink as you are showing now is lovely! Like the green sweater as well! What on earth do you do with all your sweaters you must have massive cupboards and wardrobe ha! Ha! Thank you for your podcast! Xx 🥰 and Happy Easter 🐣 xx 😘
I do haha and also have some at the cabin😛
I love that you are branching out into pinks. They are my favorite colors. I love naturals also, but a soft mauve pink is so pretty. I look forward to my knitting projects and they bring me lots of joy. I am an ED nurse and having joyful moments is always the best. I knit a pair of socks out of merino, cashere and nylon. They are soft, but very fuzzy/pilly in a way. But enjoyable all the same. I would like to purchase a natural dyeing book and I can't seem to find the Colours of Nature that you spoke of. Could you let me know the author of it. I spin yarn and live in Florida, so lots of natural dyeing/solar dyeing opportunities here. Thanks so much and I look forward to your knits and acquisitions.
Its from g-uld in denmark😍
Happy Birthday belated 🎂🎊❤️🎉
Thank you💕
Winter has returned to southwest Montana!
Me too me too LOL😂 I just bought a indie yarn called vintage rose (mainly white with a section on bright pink and green) very spring and not at all what I normally buy but it makes me happy to be knitting it up. Wish I could share the photo here 🥰
I can envision it like a vintage rose bush against a ehite wall🤩
Hi Inga! Wonderful podcast as always. It's such a shame that it was too cold for you to record outside. Last podcast was lovely. I really enjoyed this episode. Looking forward to seeing the next one!
What do you like to plant? I just want to squish all your yarns!!! Those colors are so calming
Want some sunflowers different colored flowers , peas, berry bushes etc😁
A wooden toothpick works great as a small cable needle
Loved your episode! Background noise happens!
Since you love to use Finull Rauma, I wondered if you could share with me how the gauge changes once it is washed and dried. I did wash my gauge swatch, but the gauge didn’t change hardly at all and it seems to me like it should have bloomed more. I used a size 3.75 needle and got a gauge of 5.5 and after it was washed it remained at the 5.5. I just started knitting a sweater with it and I’m concerned my gauge swatch is not giving me an accurate depiction of how the yarn will behave after the sweater is knit and washed. Thanks! I just love your podcast and I finished my first pair of Doble Tofler thanks to your tutorial and I love them!
In my experience it has alot of memory and the gauge doesnt change much at all with washing just softens 🥰
Dear Inga, here in Chile use lanolin for sore nipples in mothers who are breastfeeding. It works great on baby's butt skin when it's sore for diaper irritation. Also you can use it on little cuts and wounds that needs to fast recovering. Try it!! I work as a midwife here in Chile. With newborns and premmies and breastfeeding moms.
Hey Inga when are you opening your yarn store?😉 Actually your coloring looks really good with pink - both the dusty rose pink and the neonish pink, they both look excellent with your coloring! your kafka sleeve looks amazing! thank you for the podcast today
That would be the dream😘
Takk for en koselig episode. Såå mye fint du lager : ) God påske :)
Such lovely projects! Could you tell me more about how you wash your woolens in your washing machine?
30 degrees celcius, wool soap and 800 turns
Maybe Caroline from Honer och Heir could tell u how to add lanolin to your knits. She's an expert.
Takk for ny, fin episode fra deg 🌿
Noisy neighbours whilst recording! Not a good mix 😂. Loving seeing all the pink yarn. Im not normally drawn to pink either but have been feeling the same way this spring 😊.
I have an Ella Rey or Ray navy speckled fingering yarn. I purchased two at $25.00 each. I wound one fine on my umbrella winder. The second one must not have been put in the umbrella correctly and it became all tangled. It looks like your gold yarn mess. Sad because they are expensive yarns. I still will try to untangle it.
That stash🧶🧶🧶💕
Hi ❤️❤️❤️ so happy to join again your podcast 🥰
Where are the bags from? I don't see a link to them here.
The stones Used for your stitch marker, are probably amethyst (purple) and rosequarts (Pink) .. The green is harder..
oh how i love your videos ! hope you're doing well
Thank you for asking💕 i am😘
hola me encantan los bolsos que marca son para poder comprarlos gracias
i checked all the west coast US stockists and no one has mykt til dame =( i guess i'll just wait until mother knitter stocks the booklet
I love your Tulip sweater!! I bought this pattern before I finished my first sweater (I'm new to garment knitting) and having a couple under my belt now I was thing of turning this patter Ito something I could wear in summer/sprig with a linen or cotton yarn ad shortening the sleeves. Looking at the pattern it looks like I'd need something with a worsted weight. Do you have any suggestions? I'm on the east coast of the US and already in May it's going to be 95F or 35C this weekend and I might need to out down my wool. Last summer I knit a lot of washcloths and hand towels which I needed and practical int he heat but I don't want to stop my new garment knitting! If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it!!
Jessie maed has lots of lovely sunmer knits, i just uploaded a video of all my summer garments😁
@@knittingtraditions I will need to watch asap!! I’m trying to catch up now. Lol 😅 but thanks for the rec! I’ll have to check them out!
It always makes me so happy when I see that you have uploaded a new episode, I always feel so inspired for new projects after watching your podcast. Happy belated birthday to you 💕
Also don't dye with white white - that has probably already been dyed to get it this colour so has chemicls etc in it..... use a sheep coloured wool that might not have been dyed - you have plenty - you will get a much darker colour - I also liked your dying because it's such an even colour - well done
🐑❤️🐑❤️🐑
Do you put all your knits into the washing mashine? In one video you told, that you wear knits every day and I was thinking about this question a lot of times, because it's so much work to wash all the knits by hand
I do unless im afraid a garment will bleed 😄
Hilsen Hege-Kristin
Tusen takk Kristin😘 god påske🥰
Cashmere sox will not last. They will pill & develop holes if you wear them all day long. You can add silk or nylon & silk & a highter twisted wool. Those will last longer, but... can b slippery. Neither combo will last as long as high twisted BFL (or BFL+nylon) for socks.
Does anyone know if the Twisted Sisters or someone else still sells the Yarn Twister by chance? I can find anything like is online…though i may just be calling it the wrong thing lol.
Twizztersizzters on instagram is the only ones selling it i belive as they have the patent on it😁
What a great inspirational video! Can you please share the info on the beautiful pink yarn at around 19:00? Thank you!
Its gepard silk mohair tweedy
@@knittingtraditions Thank you so much. :)
Hello again ! Question here… what did you use as a mordant when dyeing with the cones ?
No it has natural tannin in it so no need aparently
20:53 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
👋 😊
Black Walnuts husks will get u brown
Maybe il have to plant a tree🤩
Regarding uses for lanolin-it can be soothing on sore nipples as a result of breastfeeding.
Amazing😍
Привет из Украины!как бы мне хотелось титры ,чтобы вас лучше понимать!
I wish I had your life
Aww happy belated birthday to you and your boyfriend Inga! 🥰
Thank you💕
Hello Inga i love your podcast. Whenever a new episode drops I cozy-down with my knitting and am always mesmerized at how quickly you complete your beautiful garments! Thank you for your Channel, you inspired me to create my own knitting podcast last month! Happy knitting 🧶!! I’m am flight attendant and hope to make it to Norway in the not too distant future. Will bring an extra suitcase for yarn “souvenirs” 🤍
Always love your podcast and start watching as soon as I get a notification. Thanks for inspiring me with all of your beautiful knits and rustic yarn.
Your brown No Frills Sweater is stunning! 😍 I’ve knitted three No Frills so far and loved each and every one, but I do not have yet one in a brown-ish color. You inspired me!
Hi Inga, you always make my day when you have a new episode out, I can sit and knit with you in my living room :-) You are a great inspiration to us - thank you. Yesterday I just published my 2nd Episode of my Knitting Podcast - Wonderful World of Knitting. Check it out if you like. Greetings from (warm) London :-) Cathleen x
😍I wanted to knit the Guernsey pullover from the Sandnes magazine so much! I literally cheered out loud when I saw you pull out the magazine. It is also my favourite design from the collection. Unfortunately I couldn’t find it here in Vancouver. Really hope Canadian stockers will stock this pattern soon.🥺 P.S. Happy birthday! I really enjoy your podcasts. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤
Maybe ask your local yarnstore if they can find it?😁 enjoy your podcast to😘
@@knittingtraditions My local yarn stores don’t carry the pattern, but I just managed to find a Chinese Sandnes stocker that sells it.😅 Guess I’ll be able to get it with some effort in shipping! And thanks for listening to my podcast.🥰 I’m glad you enjoyed!
Always so excited when I see you did a new Podcast! Happy belated birthday! Hope you treated yourself to some great birthday gifts! Another lady here in the Pacific NW! Expecting more snow tonight and that makes it a great time to knit!!!!
Maybe do a No Drills sweater next time 🤣
Hi Inga! I am kind of in a spell for that twister... I just want one...Could you please give me a link to the "shop where can I purchase one, Pretty please?
Strange, I live in Seattle and it is also snowing :) I'm not sure I remember ever having snow in April here. We do not get much but I love seeing it.
Where are the stitch markers from? I can't seem to find the company.
Thank you for another lovely episode
😊 un an nou cu fericire😊si mult drag😊 🙏🏻😘
❤🧡💛💚💙💜💯💯💯💯💯
I really like the blanket squares. Your notes say you used a .75 needle but I’m guessing either a 2 or 3 is missing. Can you verify?
I so love your podcast!!! Happy belated birthday too! 🎂🧶🎂
3.75!
you have so many beautiful projects. Also would you be able to put a link for the non-superwash wool advent. I don't think I am spelling it correctly as I keep getting other things. Thank you. I really look forward to your episodes coming.
Sesrch for zakami on insta😁
