Was definitely chillin' at home with the family! Hope your evening was great! Congratulations on the shed, it looks awesome! You did a wonderful job, all the best to and yours in the new year! 🤗
As a former electrician, I would say that you did a lot better than many of the guys that I worked with on jobs. Kudos to all of your hard work in this series. Definitely looks like the labor of love. Hope you love your she-shed!
Serena, I’m so proud of you! This She Shed is absolutely amazing! You’re my idol. I wish you much prosperity and happiness for the New Year and every year going forward!
By the way, I own a home in Houston TX That needs so much work. When I'm there visiting my son it stresses me out about how much work needs to be done but I've watched some of your videos and I think I'm going to try a few things myself. I sure would love to have a friend with your experience to help ;-) Thanks again!!!
Absolutely amazing!!! So bright and multi-purpose! I agree about the insulation. But I'm gonna diy one last time for my own shed. Excellent airflow tip!!!
Finally I found a clip that let me see whole process to get the shed exactly what I have been wanted for. I am gonna order shed and have been thinking what I can do for insulation, electric, plumbing and dry wall. Your video gives me answer for almost all questions in my head. Thank you❤
Mrs. Serena, all I can say is WOW!!! Thank you for sharing all your projects and knowledge with your fellow women. You give me and countless other women courage and confidence to tackle these types of jobs. Thank you again :)....
Aww, thank you so much, Victoria! It's been a lot of work, but I have loved every minute of it, learning along the way. Hope other women can learn from some of my wins and mistakes! :)
Turned out beautiful! I love how you made your own blinds, I'm thinking I might just do the same for my new She Shed I just got blessed with. Thank you for such wonderful tips and great inspiration!! 💗💐
So proud of you. You did so much of your own back breaking work! I’m currently moving south and working on my own shed. Taking pieces from my garage studio, here in New York, and moving them with me to the south. It’s fun and frustrating at the same time. I am constantly reminding myself to ENJOY the journey.🙄. But I really enjoy and feel inspired to keep going when I watch your videos. Thank you and keep making them. Also, I did NOT know about your podcast so thank you for mentioning it. I will look for it.
Belated Happy New Year (2023) to you, your family and followers Serena! You mention Mini Split AC, I disconnected the Central AC and installed Mini Splits. One in my bedroom and one in the living room. It's a great investment, plus they are energy savers.
I think you have done a fabulous job…I love your she shed and want one! (The highest compliment I can give you 😉) I also really appreciate the realities you shared as you learned your way through. All the very best for you and your beloveds in the new year! Looking forward to your future projects.
I agree! When I first got it, it was all about being a workshop, but the more time I spend in here, the more I realize I would love to outfit it to be livable space *WITH* hidden workshop space.
Best wishes for a wonderful New Year ❤️ You inspired me to pick up power tools and make something while watching you build your she shed! You're amazing!!!!
What an amazing project! You are so incredibly talented and fearless! I would not have even had the nerve to try any of the things that you have done! Keep on Keeping on sister!
I appreciate this video so much! I have a shed/boathouse on the water (was built in 70s to hold extra boat gear while racing our boat; rebuilt 5 yrs ago after hurricane flooding). But it is a raw space, not utilized except for storage (and could make a cute on the water she-shed! Been hard to find videos on how to convert it myself. So, thank you for this and all the How To Vids! ❤
I am watching all your videos and find the shed build amazing..You Aspire to Inspire. ? question if I use polypro form board do I need a vapor plastic barrier. My shed will come with soffits. Thanks,
My 12x16 Yoder building. I put in elec., dry wall, insulation, ceiling w/attic stairs, flooring. The only difference is no cement. $12,000 total. I was going to put in a pic but it wouldn't let me.
Hello great video on shed I was wondering since u added electricity to ur shed and are knowledgeable with electric issues I am wanting to run some electricity to our shed for outlets lights and a dryer and washer my question is what size wire do I run from my main panel and how much service amps do I need to be able to do so any info is greatly appreciated thank you in advance
Happy New Year ! Your shed really is amazing and intimidating ! Do you recommend taking classes at community college even if you don't plan on doing construction as a profession ?
I know you didn't want to go crazy with the paint but all that white wall would drive me nuts. Great job on the doing the work you did. Save money and got educated. Shed looks nice and comfy. Can the hubby visit you in there?😀
Hi, sweetheart! Is there any plumbing in there? Great video. I’m a guy and I’m not as good a worker as you are. I think you did great on that insulation! Great videos!
Thank you so much for such a thorough video! I'm curious if your shed came with a ridge vent? Or is this something you had to install yourself along with the soffit vents?
Aww, thanks! The ridge vent was something that I had to select as an option. Otherwise, I think it would have just come with gable vents. In this case, it's either or: ridge vent or cable vents. You shouldn't have both.
Great work, but please help me understand. Why to use tuff shed galvanized foundation over a well-done concrete slab? Why not to bolt it directly to the slab like a regular stick-built construction? That way, it would not look like a shed, which it kind of does with the galvanized foundation. But I suppose there is a benefit to using the galvanized foundation over the concrete slab, I just don't know what that is, and would like to know as I am about to do the same as you did. Thank you,
Would like to learn how to wire and relocate plugs. As well as light a room without electricity -- battery lights. Like a chandelier or fan on a ceiling. Have no idea other than theory how to do it. Lol
WOW..... It looks amazing 👏🏾 This just shows anything a man can do. A woman can do it better... hehe. Now I can't wait to start seeing the amazing crafting diy and thrift store diy that will be created in there. Keep up your good work, and happy new year 🎉 .
This is fantastic and all credit to you. One question I have. Is it as spacious as it looks on camera or does the camera add footage? Hubby and I are going to get a backyard shed built in the same dimensions - 16x26, for a boardgame/sewing room. Your shed looks so spacious that we might make it a little smaller. I'd love to know. I wish you many fantastic fun hours in your shed. You did a brilliant job. Happy New Year!
Sure! The shell of it was about $20,000. I bought right at the beginning of a price hike, so the base price is likely about $23,000 now. The foundation was $11K, $4K for the drywall, $3K for electrical wiring (which would have been about $7K if I hadn't wired the interior myself). And $5K for the mini split. Not to mention other supplies and materials, like the insulation I did on my own. Still cheaper than hiring a contractor to build it from scratch.
It is not usual for construction workers to clean up. You’re actually lucky they didn’t leave a room filled with debris. It is understood that you will do the final cleanup.
Nice place but one glaring mistake, the French doors are supposed to open out not in. Did they reverse them by accident. That’s a huge waste of space. Particularly knowing a patio would go up front.
Hmmm....I don't know, never thought of that. One opens and closes for the most part, and it never swings all the way in. It hasn't been an issue, but it's a good call for those who may watch this and know that they want theirs to swing outward. Thanks for pointing this out!
We asked the same questions to tuff shed. Answer is in-swing door is more water proof. They don't have option for out-swing door. Customer will have to supply their own.
Goodwill Finds - We have to be careful which location we buy from on the site. One CA store only shipped half our order, making the product useless and refused to answer our calls or emails about it. We had to dispute the charge and get our money back. They didn't respond to the bank or CC company, either.
Happy New Year's Eve, everyone!!! Who else is chillin' at home tonight, like me? :)
Happy new year!
Was definitely chillin' at home with the family! Hope your evening was great! Congratulations on the shed, it looks awesome! You did a wonderful job, all the best to and yours in the new year! 🤗

You should be a shed project consultant. I am digging your finished project. I'll never go in the house! 😂

Nicely done. Love the shed. Could be a nice small home really.

LOVE your video of the whole process, help me with my shed office process.
You did an awesome job. I have a shed I started working on 3 yrs ago DIY so its taking me some time but I'm doing it. You've given me some great tips.
It always takes much longer than expected. But it's part of the fun! The process, the journey. Good luck! :)
What an amazing project! You are so incredibly talented and fearless! I would not have even had the nerve to try any of the things that you have done! Keep on Keeping on sister!

Great work! How was it during the winter months? Did you feel child still coming in?

Great video! Glad you got this done before inflation went bonkers. The shed came out beautifully.
Beautiful
It's beautiful. All you need is plumping and someone could live in it.
Thank you!! :) I definitely need plumbing!
Zoning in towns usually requires 1 living area per lot. If you want more living areas you need more lots.
Great work, but please help me understand. Why to use tuff shed galvanized foundation over a well-done concrete slab? Why not to bolt it directly to the slab like a regular stick-built construction? I know it varies from store to store and town to town but do you have an estimate of cost of goods??
🙏👏
My mother-in-law and spouse refer to Good Will as the "BOUTIQUE".😉😉😉
Did I miss the bedroom closet final finish makeover , 👀

And yes, drywalling is a job by itself.
Love it
