Mark really is fantastic if you haven't watched him and the crew over at the behavior panel on UA-cam your missing out the four of them are brilliant and work so well together!
Today, having only spoken to a fellow dog walker several times in the street, for a couple of minutes at a time, a couple of times a week, I asked her if she'd like to have lunch - for a more meaningful conversation (as she seems like a very interesting person). I was taken aback at her enthusiasm and very glad I did so. Perhaps an example of what you're talking about Mark?
Brilliantly presented. Thank you, Mark....our world needs to think more this way. This just left me marveled, the way we were created with all these instincts for survival and closeness. It comes to mind the life principle taught by Jesus Christ..... love your neighbor as yourself.... think about others first instead of doing what I want or feel. Thank you again great job👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Awesome speech, Mark. I love speeches that end on a really positive note with an important message for us in personal interactions. We need to talk to strangers and listen and engage with people we normally would just walk by without a thought.
@Mark Bowden, thank you. Yes, I seem to easily feel the friend in people and they in me..of course children for me it's just always there and I wonder its it my needing that comfort. I also get overwhelmed by too much stimuli when adding to people's energy the other senses of hearing sight ~ now I have health issues that emotionally & phyiscally that I've noticed is really sometimes off the charts, though when I go, my thoughts I guess up into the brain an reroute , distract the anxiety and feeling overwhelmed, funny thing a main health problem is "Stiff Person Syndrome", yes the same thing Celne Dion just announced and I've had for 30yrs "low level" it's ironic because this effects the muscles, my ridgity that begins I feel lower down and I can then walk home and recharge. It's Mark and the panel that has helped me do this, oh which I began to do in the house; yup, just started smiling when I woke up, so as I was brusing my teeth and making coffe my thoughts were "this is nuts, to feeling my muscls relax and the smile "energy" having me start just being friendly to myself. The Behavior Panel are a godsend for so many reasons. Each so different & Mark certainly comes right out as the friend from the get go.
Marc, I love the way you describe things I love the way you’re all your intelligence that you have. As a person with a disability especially the last piece I do come and get to meet people no matter how uncomfortable I am. Because I know with those of us who have disabilities, we have a tendency to want people not to be nervous or scared. At least that’s been my experience. Thank you Mark Bowden for everything you do. Later!
I teach at risk high school students and this is a message we try to teach them. I'm going to incorporate excepts of your talk into my lesson plans. You Tube suggested this video because I am hooked on The Behavior Panel.
Thank you for pointing out the indifference category and encouragement to use all the information to help people see us in the friend category. I am in cardiac rehab where almost all the patients present as indifferent to each other. I am using your training to try and come across as a friend. I honestly believe we have all in cardiac rehab been through some sort of trauma and will heal better if we aren't indifferent to each other but find friendly support in each other. It has taken time, but I'm slowly making in-roads and finding/making "friends." There are so many brave people there. Some are on oxygen tanks, walk with canes or rollators... and a couple are in wheelchairs. One person has a translator because he doesn't speak English. Interestingly, his reliance on body language to communicate made him very receptive to my use of your body language techniques of friendliness. Thank you, because I just want to spread support to these hurting peers in cardiac rehab.
When I was a kid, my mother used to get into conversations with total strangers everywhere we went, even standing in light at the checkout at the grocery store. These days, I find myself doing that. It's amazing how openly people respond to that. What I haven't figured out is what signals I'm putting out that clearly say to others "Please tell me your life story, I want to hear it" when I'm just sitting by myself and reading without even acknowledging people around me. These aren't small-talk people. I'm quite serious about the "life story" thing. They can keep me there for an hour or more just listening to their stories. Happens to me a LOT, and I have never been able to figure out why people do that.
Mark, I love watching The Behaviour Panel and this amusing and insightful talk was both eye opening and something else I can’t think of right now. You did highlight one of my favourite aspects of my parent’s characteristics. They engaged people everywhere they went. They engaged with the grocery store workers, with the pharmacist, with everyone they came across every day. They had wicked senses of humor, and deployed them every day and made people laugh every day. They lived in a small city of 40,000. When I had to go to the grocery store after they had passed away, and I had to tell the workers that they were gone, they wept. Because my parents touched people, people they did not know, but soon knew as friends out and about in the community. They never had their phone numbers, they weren’t ‘real’ friends, except where my parents found them. But my parents and the workers in these different facilities, brightened each other’s days, shared troubles and confidences and connection. My dad was a truck driver, my mother was an exceptional artist and musician, who taught my dad to play drums so he could join the band that supplied part of our family income. Both were curious life long learners. They engaged with people, they engaged with life. It kept them young and fun. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, humanity, and humour. Love from Alberta.
I just watched your TEDX Toronto. IT WAS GREAT AND VERY INFORMATIVE. I just love your Behaviour Panel, I’ve been following the episodes with the other 3: Greg, Chase and Scott. Love it. Thank you. This from a fellow Torontonian who just finds body language and behaviour interesting.
Mark, the second I saw this Ted Talk with you being the speaker in my feed I had to watch. You see, Mark you are my absolute favorite body language dude! I always enjoy your commentary because you seem to have the most fun. You certainly seem like you have more fun than sayyyyyy Greg! You all have your own style which keeps things from getting boring. Anyway I just wanted to pop in quickly and let you know... I'm watching you.... yvonne
The first video I saw you on this blew my mind. Made me wonder why I had not realized some of these things before, like for instance, how be more successful in my home business. I did pretty good then but I'm terribly ADD (yes, I'm going to use this excuse) and I believe had I known about your videos I could have been even more successful. Really makes you think. Btw, my apologies on the "I read your book Worm" in the last BP video live, I *assumed* you were the author w/o checking info (as if you didn't know). How bad is that! 😁
A fine slice of motivating content. Many thanks Mark. Great energy and passion as you would expect ! I shall be deploying some key elements today & beyond :o)
mark I also look scary if I try to pull a toothy smile I really wished I could look more smiley without feeling its fake or put on.. or looking scary. do you think you may make a video for tips for this? BTW love you guys on the behaviour panel it's amazing to watch, thank you for this and other insights into human behaviour
Would love to know what the Zoom equivalent of this is. Its hard to see how the truth plane works when all they can see is a head shot with maybe a pair of nostrils!
I love listening to Mark speak. So intelligent.
Mark really is fantastic if you haven't watched him and the crew over at the behavior panel on UA-cam your missing out the four of them are brilliant and work so well together!
You should do more videos about this, thank you it is brilliant.
The Power of Caring.
This is my favourite TED Talk. Watched this many times inspires confidence and positivity ❤❤❤

What a great story. That's exactly what I am talking about. All the best going forward with it. Keep me posted.

Thank you again Mark ✌🍁
I LOVE Mark so much! Genuinely started feeling anxiety when he was acting predatorial, even though I knew it was an act. He's so good!

Cheers!

Love it! Everybody can benefit from being a little bit fake to not miss out on life-changing opportunities.

I love this when I watched it years ago.... Absolute future classic for me
Thanks!!!
Thank you
Brilliant message - really useful for networking!
Mark I love listening to you and I’m always thinking a lot of the same things that you and the panel are saying when you do your videos. 🤩😚

I've watched this several times. Some before TBP and some after, including today. Btw, don't tell the other guys, but you're my favorite. 😊
Your secret is safe. It's not like this is a very public forum! ;-)

As always, it’s such an enjoyment, with ounce’s of mind bending, body tingle’s, when I watch your uploads. So much respect and admiration!
Very good talk. I never really looked at it this way . Makes a lot of sense. Thank you Mark
I love the animation you bring to your speaking engagements. Brilliant message.
