To be honest, I have seen the truckload of videos about long-lasting motivation but it did not work out for me, I always feel great temporarily but this video is definitely different from the rest as @Chase Hughes helped his viewers to CONNECT THE DOTS, which is required for an individual to transcend to next level. Thank you for this Chase. I lost my husband of 35 years at 55 and pretty much lost myself. I used to be so positive and upbeat, but I’ve found myself to be inwardly negative and self sabotaging. I felt the same way. I lost my mum 5 years ago and since then I've been "going through the motions" of life but not really living it. Watching this video definitely made me sit up and take notice - and take notes! You are definitely right about the video providing hope that things can and will be different. But unlike the standard "self-help" videos, this one makes so much sense to me and provides real steps to take in order to change the mindset you can so easily get stuck in.

Chase I’m such a big big fan, I totally agree with you, had my heart transplant when I was young, now I am 42yo, I did exactly what was told by my doctors and surgeons, it’s about the same what you just mentioned on this episode, to look ahead at my future, plan what I wanted in 30s, what I wanted in my 40s and now my 50’s, I avoided alcohol, drugs, negative people, and focus on my health and the people I love, and I was so glad I listened , having a good balanced in life is the key to my health and my career, sleep early and exercise every day. I am now planning and working towards what my 50’s is gonna look like. Without the hard work and discipline I don’t think I could do it. But I remind myself everyday I put a picture in my closet, a picture of me right after my transplant with the cables coming out all over my body and there is no way I’m giving up in building a good life given this is my second chance. Like I said, big big fan of yours and the behaviour panel channel, and am getting your book today. Iv learned a lot from you guys. Thanks 😊

As I listened to #1 "Get ahead of Yourself", I began to realize that this is exactly how Jesus lived His life. Every moment was lived with His mind ahead of Himself. He beautifully demonstrated how to life a perfect life. Although I read the bible daily, I never saw Him so clearly! What a wonderful revelation! And #2- His powerful "electricity" created Miracles of healing for thousands of people! He even told us we were the Light of the world! #3 He told us He was connected to His Father who was the Source of His very life and power and message to us all. And so much more!
Many Blessings to you Chase for your powerful God inspired message!

I appreciate this so much! In 2020, two days after my birthday, my blood pressure reached stroke zones and my doctor told me if I didn't make some dramatic changes, I wouldn't make it to my next birthday. What a wake-up call! My whole thought process had to change and I began to think about future me in a way I hadn't before. I have since lost just shy of 110 pounds because of the changes to my diet and workout. I swim, walk my dogs, hula-hoop, and garden, growing as much of my own food as I can.
One big practice I incorporated is thanking my past self for certain decisions. For example, recently I flew cross country and didn't need a seatbelt extender. I thanked my past self for making changes. Sometimes it's thanking my past self for buying extra apples, or whatever. My sisters and I often say things like, "you're welcome, future self".
I watched this video and felt validated but also, was reminded of some of the things that have made these past couple of years successful for me.

Just a small epiphany I had several years ago...getting up early to make coffee and there's no water in the coffee reservoir. It's no big deal to fill it up, but in the morning when I'm still half-asleep and needing a quick caffeine jolt, I often thought I should have filled the reservoir up when I was cleaning the kitchen the night before. I started to think of filling the reservoir the night before as a gift to my future caffeine-seeking self. By relating that thought to other things about the house, I found it worked better as an incentive to stop procrastinating than my usual cursing myself for being lazy.

@@ava198 I think (for me at least) self awareness and time is what will stop someone from cutting.
To be able to go into the places of your mind that you've been running from for so long, and to sit with the ugliness until it's no longer ugly, to understand it and accept that it's ugly and that it is ok to be, is what not only stopped me from cutting, it allowed me to start thinking OF myself, instead of ABOUT myself.
It's been 2 years since the last time I cut/burnt/hurt myself, I still have the scars, but they remind me of own far I've come. I never thought I'd ever be happy and content, but I am both of those and more now!
I urge you to find a therapist that specialises in trauma, childhood trauma in particular, and work towards unpacking all of that stuff you've been trying to bury. It will be hard at first, you may even go backwards for a little while, but stay strong and sit with the pain for as long as it takes, because one day you will wake up and it will be like you are opening your eyes and seeing yourself and the world around you clearly, for the first time in your life!! It is such an amazing, wonderful feeling!

I read a book 20 years ago about eating processed food and it changed my life. I lost weight and have not been that size since. I try to stick with natural foods, butter rather than margarine and brown undefined sugar and whole milk, are just the basics. It's not always possible but my body tells me when I've been overindulgent and need to get back on track. Your other 2 rules need some improving maybe this year it will click.
Thanks for your advice, wishing you and your family a happy new year 🎉 😊

Thank you. The last 8 yrs have been stressful. Two patent infringement lawsuits (that settled in my favor), a nasty divorce from a cheating spouse and a move across the country to be back with family. There is no more drama I need to worry about but yet anxiety plaques me. Hopefully, now I can just focus on peace and not just waiting on the other shoe to drop. I'm glad I found you. I've watched you on the behavior panel. Now you are my favorite.

I found myself rewinding parts of this. Concise, practical and impactful.
I’d love to get Chase’s take on self-sabotage. How many more times will I find myself saying WTF Heather?!? It’s a behavioral Ground Hog’s Day that leads to negative consequences, but I ride this pain train like my life depends on it. Why?

    • @julielea5268
      @julielea5268 2 роки тому +9

Heather, I'm not brilliant like Chase, but I have some beliefs about self-sabatoge. It depends on the individual, so if you can find the root cause, you can remove it yourself. Is it fear of failure? Fear of success? What is the payoff? Meaning what does staying on the pain train give you? Is it staying in your comfort zone?
Whatever it is, the brain has neuroplasticity, meaning whatever it's comfortable doing now, you can change it to different comfort zone. Hypnotherapy is the fastest way to learn to think a new way (be comfortable doing it).
There are videos on YT & you can learn to do it yourself after awhile.
It's always going to boil down to self-love. Or just love. It's the most powerful vibration in the Universe.
When you love something, you put your time, energy & positivity into it every waking moment & you keep building on what you have.
And the one thing everyone really overlooks is belief, that's the gas that makes the engine of life run. What you believe in materializes, good or bad. Without belief in yourself; no amount of talent will get you there, with belief people accomplish things far further than other more talented (or smarter; stronger, etc). I've seen & experienced this all my life, I've been manifesting since I was 8.
Also; it's impossible to be grateful & fearful at the same time!!
Best of luck to you, I hope this helps a bit Much Love❤❤!

@@julielea5268 Hi Julie. I hope you are well. I just had to comment on your post. Through life I have found that a small number of people have given me advice, usually just a brief sentence or a few words and it has had an impact on me and stuck with me. You mention in your comment self-love. This got me thinking and going back over the years to see if I could remember a time it applied to me and if so, if it correlates to my self sabotaging. Food for thought. Lots of thought. So, I'm glad I discovered Chase from watching The Behavior Panel, bringing me to your post. I do believe things happen for a reason. Take care x

@@shazzzalee9790 Thank you. I think it's usually fear in one form or another. When I was younger, 20's & 30's, I was fearless when it came to most things, but sometimes bad things happen in life & pile up, & now it seems I need to take my own advice! Thanks for bringing my attention back here, I suffer from perfectionism (feeling not good enough) when trying new things & need to give myself permission to make mistakes!. I'm reading Chase's book right now(The Ellipsis Manuel) & it's amazing. Best of luck to you, may you get everything you want in life! ♥️♥️

He always looked to the future, never complained about his childhood, worked late nights, took great care of his family. He loves challenges , makes quick decisions, doesn’t waste time gossiping about others , moves on from things that didn’t work, I admire it so .

Chase, you really chunked it down & described it more clearly than any motivation videos I have watched on UA-cam and read in ( useless) expensive books on " How to..."
I have reached two " secret" goals this year:
    1) I was acknowledged to be one of the best tutors in my field in Denmark and later this year my 6 colleagues, our boss and I was nominated to be one of best innovative workplace in Denmark.
    2) I am teaching a small group of students ( 40 so far) in healthcare in my town on bodylanguage & communication and HOW it feels to be old and perhaps suffering from Dementia / Alzheimer's.
My goal for 2022 is to convince my superiors that I am the VERY BEST person to teach / show EVERYONE in Holbaek on how to be a better caregiver & colleague.
    THAT IS WHAT I WANT!
Honestly: I dont care about money.
I am content with what I earn.
All I want is to help the students to acknowledge their huge potentials to become the very best and pass it on!

      Of course I said YES!

      Skål!
My granddad has dementia and the doctors are grasping at straws on what to do with him, had to charge nursery home because the last one was grossly incompetent. I only read some research regarding lions mane mushrooms (pindsvinepigsvampe) and how it can both reduce symptoms as well as act as a preventative, but unfortunately most mycological research in Denmark is behind the curve, so it's hard to ask people here about it.
Good to see someone helping out the cause though, hopefully such an occupation will be rendered useless in the future - no offense, of course!

Taking care of "you" is also taking care of the environment, everything is connected. We'd have to eat 8 apples in 2022 to get the nutrients of ONE 1920s apple. The soil gives us nutrients, if we neglect the soil by over farming, we don't get the nutrients we need to live.
