Amazing, I get the feeling more cool dynamic and simulation stuff is now on the horizon soon as Maxon have finally sorted all this stuff out. Thanks for this video, you always do great work.
First time i liked the video before the end - and you didnt even ask for this upfront (which i hate:)))! Great stuff! Thanks for sharing! Also love how you show the raw process of artistic research, particulaly how you dont know which values to input - that's exactly how i do it everytime, like do i put a hundred? no, ok, then 0.1? Yes, that works!
Thanks for the video! That's probably not right about car example, when you count polygons. The default of Collision shape in new Rigid body is "Auto". If it is not Box of Sphere - it would be Convex Hull (according to documentation). So original geometry is not used. You may enable drawing of simulating mesh in project settings -> simulation -> draw -> Rigid Body Shapes. But it is good that in rigid body collision settings you may crank up Geometry Accuracy - so it would be almost original geometry!
I have a very important problem with dynamics. I made an hourglass using Cloner, Rigid Body Dynamics and Collider Body. My problem is that when I set the shape part to moving mesh, the playback speed in the viewport becomes very slow and I can't do anything at all. what is the problem? my system has these particulars: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable) System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
We're certainly heading in the direction of particle based water and viscous fluids now. Now, I must get the update... ** Edit **. Just downloaded my update and set up a dynamic sim with a thousand cubes. If you want your objects to stop jiggling about, set the Collision Shapes to Convex Hulls. Works great!
I'm really confused)) bro, in the beginning of the clip you said that in constant shading the calculation of geometry collision is 5x faster, and then in the rest of the clip you are torturing with lines on the balls slowing down the process several times, maybe dozens of times))))
Oh i know. that's kinda what happens when I'm on the fifth attempt of recording it. I started at 9am. finish at 2pm. crashes, errors, camtasia issues, redos etc. it happens ha
@effectatron Hi. amazing review and tutorial. thanks man. BUT I have a question. my pc specs are 4070 ti/ intel i9 13900k/128 GB RAM but i can not get a smooth simulation like you and everytime c4d crashes or freezes. any tip to fix it?
Can you apply the new rigid body to a null object and have the children get the same effect? You could in Bullet rigid body. Trying to cache Bullet rigid body physics just crashes my c4d now
I have an old video on it - ua-cam.com/video/2u-YC53x64c/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Effectatron but there are new nicer ways too but its about the same. easier now with the standard material
Ok, let´s look those game changers updates. IMHO AI will kill all DC apps. Gaussian splatters are the future. No joke, just check it. As a begginer, I´m almost ready to make top level VFX with no effort at all.
i think this is finally gonna put xparticles out of business theyre trying to own all their own infrastructure at this point, octane too is gonna take a hit

Love your teaching style. Straightforward. No Fluff. Perfect.
Thanks!
That trick with Constant Shading is literally saving me! Thanks for this great tip 🔥
Nice just updated today but didnt get a chance to check out the update log so thanks for putting this together 🤙🏿
no prob!
It's pretty fun

Thanks! I hope so!

Thank you for this tutorial and your work! The "Set initial state" tip is really helpful.
thanks!
This was amazing, instant sub! Looking foward to learning more from you.
Thanks for the video!

Oh nice. Ok cool thanks! Good to know. But there is definitely a speed difference with polygon count 100%

Niiice
Can you explain this? how do you use convex hulls?
Looking back at this I realize that I said to use constant shading. Then proceeded to use the slowest option instead😅 and it was still pretty fast
So which is the fastest?
Constant Shading 100%@@StylishGaz
13:30 if it´s "2 seconds" flat, does that mean that we could simply set the framerate to ~5 or so for the simulation?

@@effectatron I got it, bro! Thanks for the reviews.
@@effectatronI've switched from camtasia to mirillis action, much much nicer :)
There is OBS, no, we want ad-suited bloeatware.@@Ace5Studios
Hi, I've got all content of simulation tag greyed out, how I fix this? Thanks.
Ok but how to trigger dynamics, I dont see ghost objects in c4d 2024 only in old bullet system.

it has more to do with VRAM than anything. Checkout my tutorial on these settings which should help you out ua-cam.com/video/nzni3jHhqUY/v-deo.html
I did it and it helped a lot. Scene became workable and cached. thanks@@effectatron
Awesome! @@Miladismaeelzadeh
Excellent video - really helpful, thank you
Hi! Thanks for the video. Can You Please check, do the Stage Object working in this update? Or is it me...
Can you apply the new rigid body to a null object and have the children get the same effect? You could in Bullet rigid body.
Trying to cache Bullet rigid body physics just crashes my c4d now
Thanks man! Love it 💥
thanks!
Good stuff! How does the default rigidbody compare to the bullet solver?
So much better
if you disable wireframe shading it will work a bit more quicker in viewport
Yes I mention that Constant Shading without lines is the fastest. then i forgot my own advice lol
Great tut. is there a specific workflow to convert from Blender to C4d models, especially with materials?
I have an old video on it - ua-cam.com/video/2u-YC53x64c/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Effectatron but there are new nicer ways too but its about the same. easier now with the standard material
true. I did it all manually with texture files one at a time :)@@proceduralcoffee
Got a long way to go C4D.
soon... i hope
It’s cool Maxon is finally not relying on xparticles. Still a way to go until it’s on a Houdini level though.
cool video! Seems I don't have the same performance in 2024, can you tell me your pc specs? I have 2xRTX4090 and an i9 9920x - 12 core 3,5ghz
lol my pc is no where near as good as yours. I have a ryzen 4900x and a 3090
Looks nice, But still i like Houdini more. And ahd same things before c4d get

guassian splatter is crazy cool

Could it be time for a particle system update?!
maybe!
Cool, but top tip - maybe don’t start a "check out this cool update!" Video with the laggiest demo ever as your first example.
but it was worth it cuz i got to use godzilla lol
