The detail in Cryteks environmental design is a big part of why I’ve been hooked on this game for almost 6 years now. The maps feel like real places in a way that absolutely zero other multiplayer games have achieved.
I've played this game for over 1k hours now, everything else I play gets pushed aside to come back to this. If you like extraction shooters you'll love this. Seems simple but there's a depth to it that makes it very compelling to put time into. The atmosphere is great, setting is unique, gameplay best in genre, the audio in particular is better than anything else out there.
I remember firing the game up for the first time and jumping into training mode. The instant I pulled the trigger on a springfield and popped the head of a zombie with that satisfying crack sound I fell in love (obviously you learn later that's not the way to deal with AI on live but still)
Props where it's due, the interviewer and dev both actually play and the way they unpack the upcoming changes is exciting and engaging. Haven't seen a game interview this good in years.
Been playing this game since early release in 2018 and i’m so happy how far they progressed After all these years it’s still my favorite pvp game of all times ! Can’t wait
The new map and updates look amazing. Hunt is still somewhat of a niche game but the support it receives is awesome. The developers really have a plan in mind.
I love that they went big on the mines idea. I remember talking to my co-op buddy last year about what we wanted to see in a new map and I said how cool it would be to have larger networks of underground tunnels like big mines. The way it changes how you traverse the map, more cover but less awareness, how spooky they could get. Man I can't wait to see it first hand.
Scott is great and all, but I really want to give a shout out to Evan. He was well prepared, knew what to ask about, KNEW WHAT SCOTT'S ANSWERS MEANT, on point follow up questions. I had a great time watching this interview. Killer.
Always love hearing developers talk more in-depth about their game. This interview was so insightful and fun, it made the time just fly by. The map, and the update as a whole, looks like it's gonna be a blast, can't wait!
Just wanted to say that this was a really really good interview, and it goes both ways. Refreshing to see the interviewer be an actual fan of the game asking relevant questions and even more refreshing to see a game director that definitely knows what he's talking about. It's very apparent that he actually plays the game which is a huge plus! Well done!
Really enjoyed this interview and hearing the logic behind your design choices. Map looks great, excited to play it. Also, nice Fellowship tattoo, Scott.
I really hope they are internally testing an exploring snow. Even light snow, with minimal visual limitation. In the video its revealed that they are looking into other weather effects, but not snow. At least it was not specifically mentioned. Probably hard to actually achieve from a technical pov.
It actually isn't hard as compared to the ash and fire modifiers as well as the fact rain storm is so impressive I imagine implementing snow and snowstorm would be no harder than any other event they have had before
Now that’s a textbook example of how new features and ideas and changes have to be conveyed from the developer to the audience. Perfect community management: “We know how our game works, we understand different playstyles and approaches that our gamers love, we want everyone to have a chance of winning - either by calculation or blunt force”. I love the game but I feel that my chances of winning are significantly lower than of those who have been playing it up and down since the alpha. I’m so touched when I see that the developers care. Thank you ❤

You can tell the passion is real with this team. Breathe of fresh air in gaming where it’s become soulless and all about money. Like it is very possible to make money and make a game you love just as much as the fans. Passion always sells. People know and appreciate when some love has been poured into something. As far as I’m concerned hunt showdown is the best shooter out.
