Nah performance is worse, hunt was never optimized too great, but now it's even worse, at least on rigs I tested it on (like 4070ti, 79xtx, or some 3060).
@@heibk-2019 Yeah u are correct new engine version introduced to hunt, new more expensive graphics features and dx12 that is more GPU hungry, but also with dx12 it's a bit more GPU intense, rather than CPU, so that is a good thing in terms of optimization. What I meant is they didn't spend too much time on optimizing, from what we see, they didn't correct major performance issues, like stutters when loading enemy players or large amount of assets, or when in fight, CPU usage is still the same except dx12 using more GPU out of the box really, problems with vram utilization, and so on. I'm sure they will be fixing more and more stuff like that in future, this update is more like a fundament for future development, like it was with eg cs2 source 2 for valve (to some extent).
Watched this twice and will keep re-watching to take notes as a completely new player to this game. One of the hardest things for me is knowing where people are, I always die not knowing who shot me and from where 😅😅
Good since it incentivizes you to play risky but smarter so you can take advantage of the full banish HP you get from Necro now, in general they've significantly accelerated the gunfights in Hunt by making hunters burn faster and some weapons like shotguns more deadlier.
I think they went too harsh on reviving in general. They introduced instaburn in Tide of Desolation, which I think was good enough. But now you can only necro once AND you burn much faster AND chokes are only 1 min now AND they kept instaburn. It's just too extreme. I think either burns should be slower again or instaburn should be removed. Because now all these changes encourage passive gameplay even more.
I hope my 1660Super will be able to run Hunt as well as it used to before the update, I'm so happy to FINALLY see a Spencer carbine, it should've been in game from the start, asked for it to be added on the Discord like three years ago
It's kinda wierd how they handled the throwing spear problem. It looks like they just bumped its price to 150 and left it like that. Like that's gonna change anything.
I haven't played the new update yet and won't for a moment unfortunately, but watching the video I have the clear impression that every bullet is slower. Is it just me or is it really the case?
My friends and I have been dealing with hitreg issues, but only with certain gun/custom ammo combinations. I'm liking the new map, but there are still plenty of kinks to work out.

@@Cluxiu I have an amd 3600 cpu and rtx 3070 gpu, the game runs flawlessly on medium-high settings at stable 72fps (I have a 75hz monitor that's why I locked it at 72)
They didn't buff anything. Crosshair now simply shows the 'real' spread of a shotgun. Spread numbers didn't make any sense before. It's a good change, but now it feels harder to play shotguns, because I think that I need to be more precise. But that's just a skill issue tbh.

this map is awesome, and i got better fps than before on this same settings. Very good update. Unfortunately UI looks bad. Playing on rtx 4070 and i5 14600k i have like stable 190-200fps medium settings
My computer is dying on me with major stutters in a few games, oddly enough 2080ti and an i9 9700k and the frames never hitched or anything abnormally. Natural FPS felt a lot better.
The stuttering thing was always in hunt and still is pretty the same way (so in fight, when loading players and assets), tho with dx12 that came with updated engine, GPU usage should be bit higher and so frametime, 0.1% should be better, but as I tested on few work rigs, it's seems they spend close to none time in terms of more advanced optimization and bugfixing from before update unfortunately, hope they will spend some more time on it eventually. And overall performance on v.high-ultra is pretty awful compare to before update not great state, at least on my 4070ti, 3060 or 7900xtx, on 3440 to 4k res. it will go into 60-70fps on 4070ti, better on xtx ofc. And their implementation of dlss/fsr look so blurry man...
everything low exapt lighting quality on high, dlss amd anti smaa are optional but definitely don't use fsr. fsr implementation is really bad in this game, causing blur and shimmer and even worse so while anything is moving.
The new UI is... I don't know, I never thought UI can be that terrible. It's very bad, and it's not something I want to get use to. Gameplay wise it's fun, I guess.
I decided to give it a chance and spend the day playing off and on. I love the new map, especially the mines. Really convenient for getting towards certain areas for clues and the like. A lot more fun than running through the forest. Don’t mind the new UI to much but I don’t see the point in complicating something that wasn’t complicated from the get go, and haven’t ran into any shadow issues, but some textures here and there bug out and appear purple/missing texture for me whenever I goto interact with doors, some other stuff as well but nothing major. After 270 total hours I don’t think I’ve ever crashed more in a single match than I did today. 😂 A total of 6 crashes within one match of hunt showdown. Amazing work cryingtek I will come back for more. 😂

It's there, but if you read the patch notes, it's implemented as a distance beyond which bullets start to drop. You can actually see the drop range on the screen while in ADS. Up to that range, bullets fly straight, but beyond it they start to drop, at various rates determined by ammo type -- heavier ammo like long drops faster, but has a longer drop range, while compact starts dropping pretty early, but drops slowly.
They really improved the straight line travel distance on all weapons. In one of the devs video uppercut had only 15 m drop range iirc, now it's 65. Now it's kinda intuitive and only prevents pinpoint sniping at really large distances, and mostly doesn't affect normal gameplay. I like it.
My old chad graphic card died a few months ago... now I have an RX550 until I get more money to buy a new one, but here in Argentina now is very difficult to save some cash. I have black/dark zones issues, and It's unplayable... I NEED A NEW GC! :(

Delete user folder in hunt folder it should get better.
Confirming above, deleting the user folder resulted in change from 25fps to 100fps. Not too much, but I have a laptop.

my 6 star pvp in Mammon's Gulch looks like all people bushcamping and nothings happening for 20 minutes
6 star is what you make of it, some games will always be like that tough
It’s literally day one of the map lol people are gonna camp give it some time and let people figure it out before you bitch
It's going to be more campy just because people don't know the map yet so rotating or being in the open is all the more risky

The random stutters is what kills it, i can get up to 80 or 90 frames but randomly stutte down to 40.

Yeah. new update has 3 big issues, in order of importance: the desync is huge now, the FPS is really sus sometimes, and the UI is absolutely awful.

Go in the range and shoot at far targets with fire ammo. You'll see it.

It's called realism . The bullet takes time to travel to its target , just like in reality.
