A solid starter guide! There are, however, some little details I think are worth sharing. One of the biggest pieces of advice is regarding enemy aggro and alert states.
Enemies in Hunt tend to have 4 states: Passive, Alert, Searching, and Aggrod
    - In passive state, they patrol, or sit/lie down (zombies) and are otherwise harmless. In this state, their 'detection' radius for sound and visuals (though mostly sound) is lowered. Zombies in passive state will most often hear a player before seeing them.
    - Nearby SOUND, or damage from silenced weapons, will put enemies into Alert state. In Alert state, enemies have an increased awareness, especially for VISUAL stimulus. Be very aware of Hives (Bee ladies) in Alert state: Their detection radius is massive, and they can even spot players through little gaps in walls, etc. Enemies in Alert state behave differently than Passive - they tend to be louder, and more active. This can be a VERY helpful indicator of other hunters being nearby. Hives especially are a very obvious 'tell' if they are pissed off (you'll see a cloud of bees around them).
    - If you make a SOUND near an alert enemy, the enemy will enter Searching state - they will move to where they heard the most recent noise, while in Alert state. If they do not find anything there (the player moved) they will resume their Alert behavior at the new location. This is very important when playing in teams: often times, a single player can run through enemies without drawing aggro - but anyone following them will run into Alert enemies instead, and be attacked. The Searching state can be skipped if you are immediately seen by the enemy - but you can break line of sight to reset this.
    - Once an enemy SEES the player, they enter Aggro state and attack. Aggro state varies from enemy to enemy, but generally involves the enemy running after the player and attacking. Breaking line of sight with the enemies can often times put them back into Searching/Alert - this is especially effective on the grunt zombies. Immolators are better at keeping track of the player even if they try to hide. Hives will send bees directly after the player, and slowly move themselves towards the player.
I also wanted to share some more advice about Immolators (Burny Boys). They can be huge pests, but you can leverage them to your benefit:
    - If you shoot one from a distance to ignite them, they will enter a rampaging aggro state. This makes them aggro on to everything, including other enemies, explosive barrels, sometimes even doors and barriers. This makes them extremely dangerous to hunters - if you are inside a building, especially defending a boss, don't be shy about shooting Immolators that are outside to make them go nuts.
    - Once an Immolator is ignited, they 'burn out' (lose HP) over time, and will die in 30 seconds.
    - If you lure one into deep water (the really slow movement areas), you can safely pierce them and kill them (very useful for knives/swords/bayonets).
-Choke Bombs (a later unlock, releases smoke that puts out fire) kill Immolators almost immediately.
-Even if you one-shot them with a heavy weapon, they will always explode.
-If you ever see another hunter trying to melee an Immolator - shoot the Immolator. I promise you will enjoy the results!
-If you ever need to burn a Hunter, but don't have a lantern/molotov, shoot an Immolator and lead them overtop of the corpse - Immolators ignite everything they touch, including downed players.
Also left out is one of the most important tools - though admittedly they take some time to unlock: Decoys!
It's just a bag of metal scraps but you can use them for SO much. Some of the best uses are:
    - Throw a decoy at a lantern to break it (example: the lanterns on the chicken coops and dog kennels).
    - Throw a decoy at a door to knock it open - this one is very underrated, and can fool people into thinking you are right by the door.
    - Throw decoys into water to attract Water Devils (you can also shoot the water to attract them to that location - if you are in a hurry this can give you time to cross the water).
    - Throw decoys at/near enemies to put them into alert state - this raises their 'awareness' and makes them more likely to notice hunters. Use this if you are trying to flush out other players. Especially useful on the Bee Ladies, as their aggro radius becomes very large once they are alert.
Hopefully these tidbits help out some other new hunters! Hope to see you out in the swamps.

The tips for the Immolator are very helpful, I've had problems with them in the past as I always try to use my knife to limit the amount of noise I make. But having a silenced weapon will be great. And do you have any effective ways of killing a pack of hound dogs?

DarkDobe great advice but not 100 percent accurate in regards to heavy melee weapons, if some one finds a sledgehammer in the world it's a heavy weapon and it's great against the Immolator and will NOT create an explosion when you hit them or when they die, glad to see you helping people and good hunting.

The most memorable moment in Hunt as a solo for was when I spawned near the Godard docs spider lair, meleed it to death, and began the banish and entrenchment. 90 seconds later I didn't see a single duo...but rather the rest of the server who took up arms against whoever killed the boss so quickly.
In early access at the time the only viable rifle was the Mosin so I took it and managed to 1 tap two of them but alas the other hunters were already banging at the doors. I had bear traps set but they're only good against one hunter then they need to be reset. One came up the sliding doors stairs behind bear trap boy and I let the double-barrel sing and managed to take them both out. I popped a quick reload and downed another hunter at the westerns stairs and managed to damage one behind him. Another hunter broked the second-floor door, hit me with his Crown but missed the second fatal shot as I used me second round of the double-barrel to finish him off. At this point I took the bounty, jumped out the second-floor window facing the dock and tossed a large dynamite in the same window and blew the place to kingdom come...At last, I used my dark sight and saw not a single soul left. I claimed my reward by looting a dolch, the crown and king and about $2K worth of cash (no hunt bucks at the time) and quickly fucked off to the extraction point.
Then I got wrecked in the second match at clue #1.
    What a game

Hey there this is a long one.. I just want to add some informations or correct you here and there. Maybe it helps others or you . (I am at 725 hours Hunt.)
First of all there are alot of more or less important details missing for all the PVE enemies but that would make the video atleast 5-10 min longer so thats alright.
    1. Even if you trigger chickens or dogs in a cage. DONT shoot the lantern. The chickens etc can be heared maybe a third of the map. Your shot can be heared everywhere. If you want to take them out. use a flare, decoy, throwing knive. or even throw a lantern at the lantern above.
    2. (just added information) You can kill 4 Hellhounds solo without loosing to much health. It needs some practice a normal Knive (prefered). Still better to avoid them if possible. I dont recomment fighting dogs with dusters or with the mellee of oyur gun.
    3. (Little tipp for the horses) You can use 1 throwing knive to the head to kill them or (until they fix it) you can even use 2 throwing knives to the body. (they wont trigger if you hit there body for some reason) Or a third option is take a lantern turn it of with x and throw it at the horses head. (Will die instantly)
    4. Crows. They are loud yes but you cant hear them over the entire map. Maybe half or even less (im pretty sure its less than half) But they are still loud. You can kill them with a firebomb or a lantern. (i think Crytek said that poisen bombs should kill them but that is bugged as far as i know (Havnt testet it in a while cause i dont want to waste a poisenbomb)
    5. The Darksight (wallhax) (you explained it later in the video) are nice but they give you more of an disadvantage. You only have 5 Seconds of it after that you are like all others exept that everyone knows where you are until you die or leave the map. 2. You can only see them behind walls you cant shoot at them while seeing them so you need to watch where they are take out your gun and shoot at a wall. (You dont always know if there is more than 1 wall or other stuff between you so your bullet wont hit for sure. 3. Its not so easy to tell the distance to the other hunters with your wallhax and the image of them is blurry and not 100% acurate which makes it even harder to hit them. And the last thing. If they are close they can hear oyu use the darksight and shoot at you before oyu can shoot at them. So its a double edged sword really.
    6. i dont recomment killing the PVE around the boss. Some of them sure but not all. With some experience you can tell what is a zombie and what is a hunter. And the PVe enemies outside are basicly traps that can eather hit player so you can 1 hit them to the body or atleast alarm you when they trigger them. And it takes time to kill the PVe mobs, And you need the time to set traps and kill the boss.
    7. For the bosses. Best thing is a bomblance or a sticky bomb but that is not what you normaly have. If possible use an Axe its just the best. If not avlable use a sledgehammer. A pitchfork or a shovel are way better at fighting PVE than the bosses. But they work if it has to be.
    8. The health bars form tier 2 or 3 Hunters. Maybe you wanted to say the right thing but you didnt. Yes they often have more smaller (25) healthbars. But if you look at regeneration that is an disadvantage. If you take 100 damage you wont regenerate anything. Dosnt matter what health bars you have. If you take 99 damage and have big bars (50) you will regenerate this big bar and only miss 50 health. If you have 4 small bars for example you only regenerate 25 and miss 75. The small bars help when you get killed cause when you get revived you are only missing 25 and not 50 for the rest of the game. Overall if you are new and dont know how to fight PVE a big bar is better cause you regenerate more PVE damage. When you are a veteran player take small bars cause PVE wont touch you much anyway.
If anyone read all of this than thanks. i hoped it helped. And if you are new to hunt or want to start playing it then i will gladly help you out. You can ask me questions or we can play hunt sometimes in discord for example.

That is not true, the sound is heavily reduced compared to walking on them, but can still be heard, and should still be avoided if possible! Crouching is not completely silent depending on what floor you're walking on either, wood floors, metal sheet roofs or water for example are much louder while you're crouched, than most other surfaces. Great video. There are A LOT of good tips in this video that take time to learn usually. A couple notes I would say:
    1. Crouch walking on tin is not silent. It isn't horribly loud but it is still louder than crouch walking on any other surface.
    2. Don't leave the boss lair while fighting the boss unless you REALLY have to. It's a great way to get instagibbed.
    3. This one is sort of a preference but the hand crossbow sucks :P

It does 200+ damage on body shot and is quiet too.

5:20 Correction; Burning Hunters can be revived, you'll just catch fire while doing so. If the fire around the Hunter goes out the Hunter will still be burning, you need to use a choke bomb or revive them to stop their health burning away, reviving takes a long time so if you can make it to the body you can tap the revive key to stop the burning even if you need to get to cover right off and can't risk the revive.
Also 6:30 yes, follow the lead of a more experienced player but please spread out, sticking your nose up our ass can get us both killed, particularly inside buildings or taking cover, if we're too close together one enemy explosive, a fast firerate weapon, or a high impact weapon can wipe a team stacked to close together. Medium, Long, and Shotgun ammo can go through players. And players have mass, if I need to reload and run for cover but you are in the doorway, I won't get in, there's not pushing past like in Cod. Ideally we want at least 10m apart for newer players, as you get more experienced that distance will change based of the range of your loadout.
7:10 Ok so this isn't just about levels, people instantly leave group on matchmaking even with a group of all Prestige 10+ with level 50 Hunters decked out. It's weird but matchmaking can be hard no matter what level you're at. Yes some people will leave based on Hunter tier, level, loadout but for the most part as long as you bring a medkit, health shot, melee, and a gun, you'll get in. Personally I only leave Snipers and people who bring no health. (Sniper players have a habit of finishing off all the enemies but still running off to extract without reviving.)
Mostly good advice for new players, some of it is stuff you grow past doing with experience but I have to refute the sound advice, there is no 'silent' in the game; if you move through noise traps while crouched, open doors crouched, etc. there is still noise, it is much more quiet than sprinting through glass and chains however crouch movement can absolutely still be heard, Hearing crouched players is a matter of range, headphone/soundcard quality, and volume. Even crouch walking (not over noise traps) can be heard with good audio if you are paying attention .
Last tip, if you are in the boss lair and have time before the enemy teams arrive, get rid of all light sources and barrels, if enemies toss explosives at you the lanterns that break will drop oil that burns a while and barrels obviously explode. Break the lamps with them turned on (toss Decoy tool at them) so the oil burns off, toss pickup lamps at the barrels. Reason you break lamps turned on is because even if you turn them off an enemy explosive can still light their oil. So if you have time, burn off all the lights. You don't want to die to an explosive and get set fire too because you were near a lamp.

technically, burning hunters CAN'T be revived...because when you start the revive, they stop burning

    • @VargVikernes1488
      @VargVikernes1488 4 роки тому +3

You don't catch fire while reviving burning hunters, unless the fire around them hasn't gone out. Also, you can put out the fire by just touching them if there's no time to revive fully.
There are no additional sounds while you crouch through inanimate sound traps (glass, cans etc), only the usual sounds of footsteps.

    here's some extra tips:
1- set spawns are a thing, remember where you spawn, and if you spawn close to that same point, chances are, another hunter might be there
2- check the map with tab, helps remembering spawn points but also helps to determine a path to follow in case there's two bounties, you don't want to make the mistake
of constantly switching border, and split the clue find.
3- it can pay off to check the afore mentioned spawn points, sometimes there will be an afk idiot who forgot he que'd up, easy kill, easy xp (his own fault, not yours)
there's a bunch more, but most things will come with time (like learning boss patterns, yes that's a thing)
Also, watching other yt'rs like psychoghost helps a ton, don't try his style out for yourself, but see what he avoids and such, his style is WAY too agressive for a newbie
    [EDIT]
Ralph's wrong about being silent, in Hunt you are never ever 100% silent, NEVER!

Hit 800 hours on the game tonight, and I don't intend on stopping there.
This game is one of those titles that comes once every ten years. It's a sleeper hit, but I'm sure that with time will become one of the most popular online games out there.
Additional tips I noticed SkillUp doesn't know about from the footage in this video:
    - Heavy Melee the Grunts (Zombies), Undead Hounds (Dogs) and Hives (the Bee ladies) in the Head for a one hit kill. This allows you to save stamina per kill if you're dealing with a mob of enemies.
    - Heavy Melee Hunters (Human Players) in the head when you're forced to pull out your knife for the same effect.
    - To dispatch Hives and Concertina Armoreds more easily, just bring Fusees or a Flare Pistol to burn them. You can also utilize the Lanterns found around Compounds for the same effect, although this usually covers a wider area and might block the path you're trying to get across. *Pro tip* - Bring Throwing Knives and practice hitting Hives on the head with them, they also kill them in one hit and it's the best way to do it because they die instantly without making their triggering sound, so you can avoid alerting nearby players.
    - Typically the only Sound Traps that you need to be careful about are the Crows and the Caged Dogs. Ducks, Horses and Chickens make lower sound levels and are usually not an issue unless an enemy team is already very close by, at which point triggering any mob around that area will cause any experienced player to know exactly where you're coming from regardless of your stealthiness.
    - Hives, Armoreds, Imolators and Water Devils make huge amounts of noise when triggered by players, so if you can, simply avoid engaging them. Try to learn these sounds and get familiar at recognizing when they occur, it's valuable information that enemy players give you that helps you survive.
    - Learn to recognize Weapon sounds, this might seem "super hardcore" but in time it will become intuitive as well. You can study these on the menus while your buddies gear up using the 3D View feature on the store, which allows you to inspect the models of Weapons, Tools and Consumables and also shoot them to hear what they sound like and what their max fire rate sounds like.
    - Experienced players more often than not make a lot of noise. It's usually bait for naive players that think they're dealing with noobs, when in fact they're walking into a trap. Don't blindly rush noise without care, take your time to figure out where the enemy team is headed and then try to make a move. Walking blindly into an ambush is usually going to get you killed.
    - When killing a Boss don't be afraid to make noise, what you need to worry about is occasionally pressing your Dark Side key (while the Boss is alive) to check to see if the Boss' icon is flashing White or Red. If it's White, no enemy Hunters are within the Compound you're in. If it's flashing Red you better tell your partners there's people nearby and you need to heal up, reload your weapons and get ready to defend your Bounty.
    - When detected keep on the move, don't peak the same spot twice and navigate the map to your advantage. This last part is highly dependent on how well you know the maps, so learn your maps by heart. Everything matters, down to the windows, doors, floor holes, fence holes, etc. Know it all by heart.
    - Always aim for the head. Body shots are ideal when a target is moving and you can't guaranty a headshot, but aiming for the head is the way to play this game specially with the several one bullet in the chamber rifles the game provides. If you do get a body shot, switching to your sidearm can provide a faster way to finish off a kill, than reloading your one bullet rifle for the 2nd shot.
    - Enemies will often try to shoot at you through walls if they can hear where you are, so even if you're inside a building, if you're near cracks most likely enemies on the opposite side can see you moving around and that's a recipe for dying early in the fight. Be mindful of holes, gaps and cracks on floors, walls, fences and anything in between. You can see through all of them, and experienced players will take advantage of these. They can also hurdle explosives through those gaps so be sure to run away when you hear a fuse go off near your location.
    - Enemies will often use Explosives to bait you into moving inside a building to figure out where you are, so after you hear a fuse you have to run but by doing so you give away your position, so be sure to know that they know where you are. The advantage here is that they won't possibly know that you know that they know where you are. Stonks bruh. Learn them.
    - Never EVER crouch walk unless you're 100% sure you're not being looked at by others players. This is the easiest way for you to die from a headshot. Even if it's a bit louder, walking standing up is almost always a better option. This is very dependent on the situation and how in control you are of it, but it's a nice general rule to follow regardless. Never give your enemies free headshots.
    - Use Concertina trip mines to block off Entrances from possible attackers trying to get in. *Pro-tip* - Use the mines as the attacker to block off the Exits so you force enemies to exit buildings where you can easily kill them. If you're using these, always shoot them after you place them, enemies can easily remove them with the interact key and if they've been triggered they'll usually avoid that area entirely.
    - Use Alert Trip Mines near barrels for the ultimate explosive trap. Just try not to kill your teammates in the process (spoiler alert, you very likely will).
    - Avoid crossing vast water bodies when you know people are nearby, you are incredibly slow while in deep water and it's another easy headshot you're providing nearby enemies.
    - Avoid sprinting in water, it makes a lot of noise as well. So as a general rule, just avoid water haha.
    - When you make a loadout consider your effective range. If you're taking a shotgun consider bringing either a Caldwell Pax or a Caldwell Conversion Uppercut which are two sidearms that allow for medium to long range shooting to compensate your shotgun's lack of range. When you enter a match, go through your loadout and think of how you might have to approach fights, so that when you do find enemies you'll know how to position and how to better engage them to help your team win.
    - Play Quickplay after you've learned the basics to familiarize yourself with the various weapons, the shooting mechanics, the bullet travel speeds and the various tools, consumables and items scattered across both maps. It's also an amazing way to learn the map layouts without pressure of losing Hunters/Gear. You get a Hunter at the start of each match, you find the gear on the map (Battle Royale style) and if you win the match you get to recruit the Hunter you won with for FREE. It's always a win-win scenario, even you if you lose you're making money and learning so much per match that it doesn't matter what the outcome is.
    - Pairing weapons of the same Ammo type allows you to bring extra max ammo to a Bounty Hunt match.
    - The best Traits (the Perks SkillUp mentioned) are Determination and Greyhound for traversing the map quickly and being able to give chase to enemy Hunters before they can extract. Physician and Doctor to allow you heal faster and to make your healing items more effective. Fanning and Levering are powerful traits for combat. Honorable mentions - Quartermaster, Bulletgrubber, Packmule, Kiteskin, Gator Legs, Silent Killer, Lightfoot and Beastface. All others are more situational, and won't make much of a difference unless in more focused builds.
    - There can be a max of 12 players on the server in every match when you're playing Duos, but that doesn't mean there aren't less than that as well. Matches aren't always full, but just because you haven't seen or heard anyone in half an hour doesn't mean they won't try to ambush you right at the end of the match to steal your victory. You can't imagine how patient Hunt players are, they're Tarkov levels of patient.
    - Always be mindful of Extractions as soon as you start the match, it takes a while to get used to, but it's a valuable factor as to which Bounty you should attack first, then second, and then which Extraction you're most likely to find enemies in or not when it's time to leave.
    - After you Banish a Boss only one of your team members picks up the Bounty initially to check where enemies are all around you. *Pro-tip* - Always do a 360º turn as you use the Dark Sight Boost (the Wallhack SkillUp mentioned). Every use of the Boost should only take you 1 second at a time to maximize it's use, that ensures you can get 10 uses out of 2 Bounties (yours and your teammates') and 20 out of 4 when you Run the Gauntlet.
    - ALWAYS RUN THE GAUNTLET AND STOP PUSSYING OUT OF FIGHTS! (only excuse for this that sticks is if you or one of your teammates has lost a health bar) *Pro-tip* - When you find a Boss lair empty during the Banishing phase, I left it to go kill the rest of the server on the 2nd Bounty location and steal it. I don't care about the Bounty I just Banished you see, I play to get kills! ;)
P.S. if you have no one you know to play with, Hunt Showdown has a great official community on Discord where you can meet people from all skill levels that will certainly help you improve your skills. Don't try to speak with others through the in-game voice system, because enemies can hear you through it and since Discord became a thing nobody uses it. It's also based on distance, so if you're far away from your teammates, they won't be able to hear you.
Edit: Added more tips, several adjustments.

      - Boss have resistances to different damage types. Butcher deals fire damage, so resists fire but is weak to rending (bleeding) damage. Spider deals poison damage, so resists poison damage but is weak to fire. Assassin deals rending damage, so resists rending but is weak to LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE! haha
      - If you want to bring Gear to kill the Boss' faster, bring Concertina Bombs to kill the Butcher and Stamina Shots to kill the Spider and Assassin. Pffft That's old meta BS, the real men bring 1 Sticky Bomb and Yeet it at the Boss for up to 75% damage in one small and compact package. BOOM, PROFIT! *Pro-tip* - Bring Gear according to what you need to kill players, Bosses can be easily killed with any gun and/or Hammer/Axe found in every Compound for free. The true Hunt is not of Monsters, but of Humans. A Hunter must Hunt. May the true blood guide you. Oh good Hunter. Fear the Old Blood.

As a decently experienced hunter, my one tip for new players is that crouching outside of buildings does not make you invisible. Always considering that you may be ambushed at any time keeps you alive because moving fast and efficiently and considering cover can stop you from being headshot. Also please stop bringing combat axe and dual-wielded conversion pistols on free hunters, you always want to have a medium-range weapon like a single pistol and some type of long or short-range weapon like a Springfield marksman or a Romero talon. Not being able to hit people beyond 30m reliably is a huge crutch.

Deam, overall a very good guide.
For the ones interested, here some more tips.
HellHound tip: they will run up to you then back of and only then will attack. The strategy is to keep running towards them with an heavy attack. And only attack when they are on there back leg, when they just jumped back and will try to attack you. But yeah try to avoid them.
Waterdevil tip: tread slowly through the water to try not to trigger them, this is the enemy I attack the least because of the need to use ammo. If you thread slowly you sometimes still trigger them, start running and you'll get out of the water without major damage. If you need to be fast, run towards the water and jump right before entering you now have a small lead. Never try crossing a swamp or lake with waterdevils, takes too long and is faster to go around.
Immolators are a good way to gain XP of the beaten track, use dusters though.
Being fully silent does not excist in this game. When everything is quiet, people will still here you sneak. Sometimes it is better to move fast when noticed.
A fast boss kill can be interesting, specially when you're with three. Use fanning (combined with a chainpistol) or levering (with a regular winfield 15 bullets)
Try to learn there sounds when becoming agro. Learn to solo kill them, so the rest of the team can guard.
With love to see a guide for the more experienced.

A tip I adapted to my own recently was waiting before banishing.
After taking the boss down I would wait and hear people out, I won’t banish for maybe 10 minutes, this helps to pin point who else is collecting and just on your tail with clues.
And then I still won’t vanish as some people will be heading for the one that is in current banish, so about 75% of players go to one currently being banished, wait it out, then come cross more people who are looking, most of the time because the other teams don’t think anyone found the clues or many people in server, or people are slow, they will bring that other bounty to you! Then take them out as they will show up on your map, then you and your team got 600!!!!

I'm sure others have mentioned this but the icon flashing white/red is ONLY for the compound with the boss in it. If you haven't yet found the boss and use your Dark Sight and see it flash white or red, you know the boss is in this compound. This has a range of 50 meters.
The clues have a similar mechanic but it is *not* visible in Dark Sight. The clue itself will glow red and it would have an ominous growling sound coming from it. This has a range of about 30 meters. As mentioned, if you take the clue and then someone enters the range, they will hear it turn red but you will not.

Quickie starter tip: whenever you spawn next to an area, assume that someone else has spawned near it too. If you spawned to the north, they spawned to the south and vice versa. You can learn the 'spawns', but this is a good rule of thumb. My first step when I drop in is running just a bit towards my nearest enemy's 'assumed' location. Best case there's no sign of anyone there, and I can explore the first area in safety, but you can also find AFK players, people rushing to the point or can even get the drop on people deciding their first course of action.
In Hunt as a rule, pro-activity seems to beat reactivity. If you can be doing something, be doing something, and this is a good way to set that tone for the match ^^

This was a great guide , i got in a game with 2 other bros , wasnt long until we found another squad, i was trying to position properly , peeking only to get info on where they were ,then one of my teammates got knocked, and they pushed us, i shot one through a window and he fell back. I think my teammate finished one or two of them off, we resurrected our friend and we kept going towards the blue light but i heard some footsteps above me walking slowly and i notified rest of my team , the dude killed one of my teammates but I shot him in the back as he was retreating, 1 shot in the back is all it took, my 1st kill secured. We then killed "the assassin" , it downed my teammated , we started sacrificing the dead boss, as we set up traps around the building. We then looted the boss and revived our teammate and made our way back to the boat where we extracted. Solid mission it said. I felt like a pro cause I actually played really well, time for round 2.

They made it easier for solo players as you now que with one tier lower players than you are, I play about 50/50 solo and it's just fine when you know what you are doing. It's just a very hard and unforgiving road to take if you want to learn this game (I did this so I know :) ) as one mistake usually means you are listening the menu music again. Also random matchmaking is now different, you get a cumulative time penalty for leaving lobbies so people tend to do less of that.

Hopefully your video's give the game more life. The game is great and deserves more players yet I do think Crytek's choice to keep selling the game at £35.99 is an absolute tragedy, the less is more argument could be made as I think more people would be willing to jump in and attempt to learn the games nuances if they could get the game for say £15 instead. The price is just too damn high for a multiplayer only title that only offers 2 game modes and 3 bosses, with this video existing hopefully Crytek get the funding they need to bolster the game and give it more life.

I really like this game and I feel like there could be an amazing storyline to it. Nevertheless, i suck at FPS games and it’s been really hard lol. However, I can’t wait wait until a fully fledged PVE mode is added or a sequel with both PVP and PVE modes.

I very much liked the "getting gud" part where you tell your viewers that we are probably going to buy shiny weapons and still immediately die, sometimes several games in a row. I'm a very average player and this is pretty much expected from me, and hearing that it's normal is reassuring. It's easy to psyche oneself up and go in thinking that you're going to dominate, but it's likely that all of your opponents are doing the same thing.
Well the point is, it's okay to lose sometimes

One crucial thing.. You are never silent even if you crouch. Hanging chains and stuff doenst make sound when you crouch through them but crouchwalking can be heard in general and especially on metal roofs. Weapon switches also make sounds so does ADS.

  • @karlhansen6161
    @karlhansen6161 4 роки тому

Generally a pretty solid guide, but there's one thing that's way more important to remember than others: everything makes noise, no ecxeptions.
The question isn't about if you should or shouldn't make noise, it's about how much noise you make, because even crouching and reloding makes noise, it's not much noise, but it's still enough to alert a hunter that's close enough to hear them, also shooting a gun (unless silenced) is the loudest noise in the game, and can be heard through the entire map.

  • @jordick8427
    @jordick8427 3 роки тому +1

One additional useful tip would be to run through bushes and foliage if you're being chased by other players or if you're simply going for the extraction.
This will make some noise, but it will also make it significantly harder for enemies to land a shot on you.

Something I'd like to mention about the crows, is that they fly off opposite of the direction they were trigged from (ie they'll fly forwards if you go behind them, left to right, etc.) and you can bait this out by throwing something near them or shooting near them (preferably with a silenced pistol or weapon).

Most reviews as he says in the video pick and choose what to focus on, and often leaves out a lot of important things about the game. It's really really nice Skill-Up fell for the game and took the time to make a comprehensive review and guide! Very much appreciated, and i hope it will help the game get a bit of a playerbase injected from it! :) Very well done review

New player here; IMO the reason to group up is less that you'll get somebody who knows a lot more about the game than you do (everybody I've been matched with so far has been about as stupid as I am), but rather because the game's firefights are balanced around having partners, and they're just a lot less fun without one. It's not just that you'll have twice or three times the firepower. Without a partner, every time somebody gets the drop on you, you're probably about to be sent back to the main menu, whereas when somebody kills you with one, there's a chance they'll get you back up if they can keep the enemy from burning your corpse. That stops firefights from being rocket-tag-y and turns them more into tense games of area-denial, where corpses are basically tactical resources. It's a _lot_ more interesting, IMO.

When you talked about the Swarmers you said to take them out with a charged up melee attack and to hit them in the chest. But it's much easier to take them out with a silenced pistol, if you have one. And their weak spot is not the chest. If you look at them, you will notice that their head, or what used to be their head when they were still a normal human, is almost completely detached and is hanging, upside-down, on their backs. If you hit that with a silenced pistol it will one-shot them without ever aggroing their swarm.

Just correcting something the whispers and the flashing icon are not for clues but only for within 50m of the boss/ bounty. Clues glow red and make a rather annoying loud sound if 2 different parties are with in 30m of the clue, this sound only comes from active clues so the ones you didnt already pick up and be careful 30m are a lot less then you think and people sometime watch over open clue to kill you while you pick it up.

Great tutorial, but for people playing the game in more modern times, the boss icon will only flash white/red if you are AT the boss lair. If someone is near a clue, the clue will glow red, so you can still see if enemy hunters are nearby. However, this still works even after the clue has been picked up, unlike the previous system. On top of this, there are grunts with lanterns on their head added with the new map, De Salle. If you hit these grunts in the head, they will explode into a small fire which can burn a health chunk if you aren't careful.

when I play this game with my two counter strike buddies the argument "aim is like15%" dies quicker than I do in my average hunt game. they kill fast and efficient while I really like to sneak around - which leads to me watching the enemies die in front of me from different angles.

Contrary to what's said in this video, don't ever shoot dog or chicken cage lanterns. Unless your weapon is silenced it's not worth it. Cages can stay aggrod for a long time after you're gone, lending some ambiguity to where you went, and if you're staying in the compound move away from them and they will eventually calm down, becoming a sound trap for your enemies. Your gunshot will always be louder and the sound will travel farther than the noise made by an animal cage and it is much easier to pinpoint where someone is based on a gunshot than a sound trap, no matter how loud that trap may be.
Most importantly, something that seems to have been glossed over, it doesn't matter what you're attacking; hive, grunt, immolator, hunter. Always aim for the head. It will do up to 3x the damage and will save you a lot of heartache
