    I lift and the best kind of fit for jeans I've found is American Eagle's Athletic Fit Air Flex. Standard Athletic Fit and Athletic Skinny. Both styles have that little extra room in the thigh and seat, soft stretch, great taper, and are around $45. I've gotten multiple compliments from friend's wives (mine too) on the fit so I know I chose wisely. I'm 190lbs 5'9" and wear a 34/32 skinny or 32/32 regular Athletic Fit.

I found the best for me (muscular ass and legs, 5'11, 185lbs) are Lee Extreme Motion Athletic Taper (32x32) and Goodfellow Slim Straight (30x32, but ONLY in light blue wash! The other colors use different material blends 😡). They fit identically and are super stretchy. Levi 506 (athletic stretch 32x32) was a close third, would be best for real outdoor work pants. Thicker, less stretchy. Arizona Athletic Taper 32x32 almost made the list.

    I have a recommendation for a video. Maybe do a breakdown of different style of jeans, depending on your age. When I was in my teens and 20s I would wear designer Jean's. Mostly Buckle and Rock Revival. In my late 30s I usually go with a nice and good fitting pair of classic Levi's. In my opinion age does matter when it comes to the style of jeans you wear. Just a suggestion.

For any other number or other jeans brand I have to size up and look baggy at me. Levis 541 do not fit me well as live huge space in thighs. Now when levis 569 is disappearing from shelves would have go back to wrangler loose fit aka dad jeans.

    I think one of the battles of well-fitting jeans, especially in classic denims, is that we're applying the fit and movement expectations of a wool or cotton smart-casual trouser to a fabric weight and seam construction which was never originally intended to fit that way. It's a case of "style" and "fit" becoming conflated on a garment type that wasn't historically originally designed to fit, fall, or move in the same way as we now want it to.

    If the jeans have stretch, get them a little snug, over time the elastane will give some slack in the stress areas, and make a more custom, perfect fit. You can do this with 100% non stretch cotton, but it will take a loooong time, and it'll be slightly uncomfortable for a while. I would personally just get the non stretch jeans in my size or maybe a smidge bigger, since I like to wash mine to help soften the fabric.

    • @bebejoon3664

      Is it better to get a size smaller in jeans with 3-6% elastane since it will get slightly loose after a couple wears?

    • @nickkestler4848
      @nickkestler4848 Рік тому +1

      @@bebejoon3664 3-6% is a lot of stretch for a men's pair of jeans. The standard is usually 1-2%. It would take many wears to get the 3-6 to break in if you went with a smaller size, because it has more "stretch memory" and will hold it's shape longer. So, yes, that would work, but I would it might be tight for a bit until the elastane starts to wear down. For me, 1-2% is the right elastane to have a solid break in process.

      @nickkestler4848 Рік тому +1

      @@bebejoon3664 Oh yeah then for sure go down a small enough size where it fits snug, but isn't uncomfortable. If you wash and dry on hight heat, you'll get some shrinkage, but it usually goes back to normal after a few wears. The only thing is it'll shorten also, and that's tough to fix, but I don't mind it.

    I recently discovered that Levi's 505 jeans are made lower waist and with only 5 belt loops which causes the butt to sag. I couldn't figure out why my latest Levi 505s sagged in the behind until I did my research. So I compared my one year old Levi 505s to my 4 year old Levi 505's and this is what I discovered first hand: The two belt loops traditionally above the rear pockets were omitted and the waist material is shorter which prohibits pulling them up properly. Further investigation online led to others who had discovered the same thing. I no longer purchase Levi jeans.

      They're also incredibly inconsistent with their sizing now. I bought 3 pairs of 505's a month or so ago from a physical store; all of them 34x34. 1 pair was slightly loose, 1 pair fits perfectly, and the 3rd pair doesn't even come close to fastening. Same thing with my 511's.

      If you want a great pair of 505’s buy a LVC selvage pair. I’ve had five pairs and my oldest pair are 15 years old and still look great. Remember, you get what you pay for,

      Do you know short length jeans make the top baggy and droopy? It's true, I get my length longer and I wear my breeches leg over boots which also makes them fit better. You see the leg gets wider as it goes up, which means when you wear them shorter, the leg is naturally going to be droopy. I hope my lesson on Jean fitting helps lol. but true though👌

    I only find high-medium rise jeans (I like the skinny ones) in stores and I have to wear them to the navel anyway, for my shape is quite uncommon and if I wear them as they’re supposed to, it leaves a lot of fabric hanging from my lower back. But no matter how much I tighten the belt, everytime I sit or walk for a while they fall a little (got a bit of love handles that weaken the grip).

      @Peter Bravestrong I personally find more embarrassing the "from the knees up" half. Despite the body shape, a man in his 40s and over, me included, should avoid any skinny fit clothes, likewise ladies should avoid leggings (at any age, they're so vulgar).

    3:25 if your jeans are that long at the ankles, you're wearing them too low. Pull them up properly. No need to roll. A lot of men wear their jeans too low or too big and they look ridiculous. Don't be afraid to show off your ass and bulge in well fitting jeans. I wear my jeans with a belt at the top of my hip bones about 1 inch below the navel.

    as a 5 foot 9.5 person whos still growing, i wear 32 inseam length and they fit well, slightly above ground barefoot, and 2-3 inches above ground in shoes.
    I like the mid to full break the most and even though i wear black low rise slim fit jeans, my legs still look long.
    I have one pair thats a little too long thats a 34x32, well i measured the inseam and its greater than 32 inches, its actually 33.5 inches and barely reaches ground barefoot, sometimes they might mismeasure the inseam. I say no worries i will grow into them because im growing taller. For people who arent growing anymore if you tailor those 1-2 inches should be good.

    Video doesn’t take into account that jeans stretches over tine with wear. Perfectly fitted denim on day one does not mean it’ll look that way after a wash and dry cycle. All my denim seem to have stretched out at least a size after wearing them for an extended period of time.
