I was just having this discussion with my son. DH vs XC tires for enduro racing. I've moved to tire with a less aggressive center tread pattern for "dry" races. He really liked his DHRs but I convinced him to bring the pattern down and immediately felt a difference in the pedaly sections. Our last race at Glen Park was a bit greasy from overnight rain so it was hard to judge the DH traction. I'm so tempted to jump on that early bird release of BrakeAce! Eichlin beat me by 2 seconds. Maybe this is my edge next year. LOL!
Nice I love those trails 😍 last time I rode there with Aggressors and had multiple flats! Watch out for Bob- he's got his BrakeAce on order so we're expecting some more time in there 😉
Great vid Matt, looking forward to more of this stuff. Would be interested to see a cumulative test on two tracks, ie a fast flow track like Eagle vs Shark, and a DH track, and then add them together to simulate the variance you might see in an enduro, and what might be fastest tyre overall. Would mean lots of riding for you!
Great vid buddy. Big XC tyre fan here. For our trails, I've found running a 2.6 Rekon out back speeds things up over all our flow clay tracks when dry but still enough tyre to play with
Nice one Matt. I wonder where the break even point for XC tires being faster is. How steep and rocky does a trail need to be before downhill tires are faster (disregarding flat resistance for a minute...)?
Yeah I've been wondering where the balance tips. My hunch is that we might be able to use the FlowScore - above a certain point and you're better off with big tread
@@mtbphd that makes sense... Well either way. My XC bike has Rekon Race/Rekon and my long travel bike has DHR II/Assegai and I'll be keeping it that way
Great content, thanks and keep it up.
Cheers 🍻
Fantastic content. Keep it goin bro!
Shot bruv 🤜🤛
Nice video
Thanks man
