Telling people that a ceramic coating provides UV protection, is unfortunately a false claim. If you think about it, any ceramic coating can be tested for hardness like with a independent company like SGS Laboratories. Coatings can also be subjected to durability testing like with Boeing industry. When it comes to UV testing by a independent company, no ceramic coating manufacturer will send their coatings off to be tested for UV protection, and that's because they would be wasting their money for this test, and it would fail the test. That's why there is no data from any ceramic coating manufacturer proving their claims of UV protection.
unfortunately they are just snake oil salesmen, if you spent the time, effort and cost of just using a great paint cleaner, clay bar then polish and finish with a natural carnauba wax over the same period of time as you spent on those exotic coatings you can get better depth and luster.
I have a client who took his Audi through a tunnel car wash for two years, and the coating actually saved the paint from being too swirled up. Optimum Gloss Coat was what I used.
When your ceramic coating wears down do you do your same procedure in prepping for new coat as you did for first coat? Do you have to remove residual ceramic still on car or you coat over it? Thanks
These are great questions! We will answer this in next weeks video on 4/3/23. In short for now, you do the same process to put on a new coating. It won't hurt to coat over an already coated surface, so long as it is cleaned up prior to doing so! Be sure to tune in when we answer in more depth when we post the video to answer it!
10 year ceramics when ceramic hasn’t even been out for ten years to even test 😂 Ceramic is like someone thinking steroids will magically make you look like Arnold. If you’re already are a car nut ceramics did nothing for your life that we didn’t already have. ( wax. Sealants. Sio2. Hardners. Hydrophobics. Glossers. And above all polishing / compounding ) I’m bitter but ceramic can never achieve the look of wax. Silica / Titania. Yea I know for different people but people who daily a car and want a ceramic will 99% of the time leave the car to fail. Let’s be honest how many people even know how to properly wash a car…

@@chrisbrewer4285I just wrote on this that nothing can beat what we had before ceramics. Wax… and you will never get the look of wax as well
How maney years after first ceramic coating do recommend to refresh that coating? And we have to do all steps like claying polishing and...?
All coatings are different. Some last a year (usually $499-$699), 2 years in $1100 range, or a 5 year coating which runs over $3000.
Very educational
Glad it helped!!

I think it is the latest snake oil, wax and sealants are just as good if applied properly and often enough.
The fact is it hasn’t been around for 10 years, so how can these snakes oil sellers make such claims! It’s all BS frankly.
Move that lamp. Your logo is getting blocked
Ceramic coating is a scam. Stay away from these snake oil salesmen. Do your work and clean and wax your car. Nothing beats that.
