paid $1600 to have a new 2024 gmc truck done. kinda regret it. doesnt prevent swirl marks or prevent rock chips as advertised. i have both after having rocklear installed. i also can see the application lines where they wiped on the product.

Hi, Thanks for the reply, as it turns out, I just took it upon myself to try, I used Macquires quick wax and it worked awesome, much more gloss than without it and very slippery. Now hope it holds up well. Thanks

I just had a2023 C8 Z06 Rocklear coated, and now it’s parked for winter here in Maine. I have no doubt based on what I was shown that there is definitely more paint protection. My only negative comment ( not really negative) but it’s definitely not as slippery as a fresh waxed surface, have said that, is it ok to use a maguires spray wax or similar. I have done it in a non conspicuous spot, and it definitely is more slippery and I would say shiny. So any input you might have on after care would be appreciated. Thanks

i had it done but the finish is very coarse. can i add a coat of ceramic coating to have a smooth finish

Hi, very interested. I just had a 2023 Z06 done with Rocklear, looks good. Couple questions, I doesn’t seem to be very slippery, like a new wax job, can you use spray wax or detailer, to make it slippery and shiner? Or some kind of spray polish just to dust it off in garage. 2nd question, how long should it cure, before you use anything on it.pretty sure I am going to like it. Thanks for the information!

It’s easy on camera! Absolutely correct. I’ve been a detailer for 15 years and have done around 200 ceramic coatings and installing this stuff has humbled me! This stuff is next level. Great video!

Only Negative i see is that if you only have 1 installer in your area (like i do) if you need follow-up help say a rock chip fill etc. and they go out of business where do you go? if there was a aftercare bottle or something where this could be done (30 ml bottle or something) that would give more peace of mind to the consumer to go ahead with this, with PPF you have multiple places that can help with that. To me this is the main disadvantage.... if you live where there is not a lot of rocks, salts debris etc. then you are golden for sure.

So IR is almost like a ceramic ppf? How thick does IR get after it cures? I think ppf is about 8mm.

Have a couple questions. After the 15 years do you have to reapply? What happens if the cost has doubled and you dont want it redone what has to happen with the first application? Does it slowly fade over time? Does it yellow when its not in a garage or ever waxed? With the warranty do you have to follow any guidelines? Does geographical area make a difference with the warranty? I have worked with exterior coatings for over 30 years that have the same claim's and they never live up to expectations. So my question is what long term durability test have there been on this product? Is it a two part system part A and part B or just pre mixed from factory? Is there a sweat time before using? Why is there no customer reviews online or UA-cam reviews? Seems like its just dealer/installer reviews. Thanks

I’ve seen some comparisons between IR and PPF but never between IR and any “healing ceramic” or plain ceramic coatings. Is that by company rules forbidding such comparisons?

Ceramic coating is a scam. Stay away from these snake oil salesmen. Do your work and clean and wax your car. Nothing beats that.

So Icon Rocklear is kind of a permanent liquid sealant on your car. Then how come the website stated that it's only last 15 years? What do I do if it's degraded after 15 years and the installer in my area is gone?

In the video you state that 3x the product is being used relative to ceramics however in other marketing material I see a claim that the layer left behind is 20 - 25 times thicker than ceramics. Please help me with the math and explanation.

Aside from this video, there are no other videos demonstrating its hydrophobic properties. In fact, numerous comments suggest it’s not actually hydrophobic. Why hasn’t anyone provided clear, truthful examples?

If have spots that have been victimized by rocks chips, and I have the actual paint to repair those (hopefully...and once I'm not on the road so much), is there the possibility of still needing paint correction of some kind to fix those chips and damage?... Or will the Icon Rocklear be enough.

Ceramic coatings bead and sheet water too based on the amount of water on the surface🤦🏻‍♂️ water spots can easily be removed from ceramic coatings as well if they aren’t a junk coating.

can it be bound to stainless steel? I am thinking about Cybertruck here, do you think it will work on it without any paint on it?

Has there been any cases of failure? Local applicators are hesitant of failure and the price to remove this if needed could cost thousands with the time and removal process. PPF you can peel off, this you cannot. This product seems to cause quite the stir when researched. I am curious, I would like to see some cars 3,4,5 plus years of this on it. That would make me a believer not just vehicles that are freshly done or even 1 or 2 years later.
