Iam 60 an I've never seen one man so talented as him before besides Elvis frank Sinatra and James brown Michael Jackson and there's a few more but he is the best
The craziest thing to me is that he wasn't even young in most of these dances! He was born in 1899 but he was still just as energetic, charismatic, and talented as someone in their early 20's. Love him!
Should watch him at the 1970 Emmy Awards...he was 70 years old and still made people 1/3 his age look like they had 2 left feet...edit: Sorry, it was the Oscars...
What a classy high energy performer. His foot work is astounding and always with perfection. He was always in sync with his eccentricities while dancing. What pleasure to see. What wonders . He could make the most complicated sketches seem so easy which makes him stand out from the rest.
Fred's 'drunk tap dance on a bar' number from 'The Sky's The Limit' is one of my favorites. Every time I see him dancing... his massive talent..charm...and unassuming manner gets me hooked all over again. We could certainly use a Fred Astaire today...thankfully we have his 31 films.
Fred Astaire was born in 1899 so it's easy to see what age he was in the movies mentioned here. It's pretty amazing to see that for some of those movies he was in his early to mid 50s and was still had energetic moves. The youngest you see him here in this list is him in his mid 30s.
I watched Pick Yourself Up so many times and I'm still amazed esp with how Ginger dances. So graceful and love her little nuances with her dress which is part of the dance.
My favorite dancer of all time. Wanted to dance with him just one time. My mother would just smile when I said that, not wanting to burst my bubble. Greatest dancer of all time.

As they filed out of the theatre someone touched his arm and when he turned around it was Fred Astaire, who wanted to tell him how much he admired Tamblyn's dancing!

I am so astonished at the fact that how can she dance (tap dance) wearing those heels. OMG!! It hurts very bad. I have that kind of block heels but couldn't even do one nice step wearing them. Gosh. And She totally slayed it. *There's no other like these two*

Fun fact: the 'rotating room' was actually a cover-up for the fact that Astaire simply bent the law of gravity to his will through sheer awesomeness.
