      Give it a try and let us know if it works. Personally, I try to avoid doing work on the phone:)

    It is a very helpful video. I was wondering how to get the To-Do bar as you clicked in 3:28 s. I am not getting anything like that. I am using the latest office outlook 365 in Windows 10.

      Most probably, it's because of difference in platforms. For some reasons, Microsoft has different version on Mac, Win, and Web. I think Web has most of the features right now.

    I noticed - you use outlook for mac in a browser. Why not the desktop app, may i wonder?
    Great video, btw! Thanks for putting it all together!

      I don't know the current state of the platform, but when I recorded this video Outlook on Web had more latest features then Mac OS desktop app. So, this workflow wasn't there yet.

    New to this channel and loving it so much! Just wondering what project courses are best for IT industries? I’ve done PRINCE2 Practitioner and about to do Agile

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  2 роки тому +2

      Scrum Master is a must. So, go for CSM. As for me, PRINCE2 and CAPM/PMP are way too theoretical. You won’t use what you learned in real life.
      At the start of your career, you need a simple and practical project management framework. Something you can easily apply in any company and for any project as a starting point.
      That’s why I recommend my Practical Project Management Course. It comes from my 10 years of practical experience as a PM in software development industry. You can find the link below each video, in the description.

    what's outlook's alternative to shift + drag to quickly duplicate calendar appointments somewhere??? the quickest I found was right click - duplicate - edit screen - press save, drag to desired spot,... I just find that to slow, I'm in the browser

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  2 роки тому +2

      Unfortunately, web version doesn’t have a quick drag and drop duplication:(

    My senior PM insists on having 30 min “daily stand ups” at 9.15am EVERYDAY where we catch up on our general well being not work. It slows my momentum day and drains me. Is it wrong that I feel this way?

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  2 роки тому +3

      It’s totally fine to feel this way. Imposing team building meetings like that is a bad strategy. People should feel a desire to communicate on not work-related topics. Moreover, it should never be mandatory.

  • @kiv2477
    @kiv2477 Рік тому +1

    This is brilliant and I'll start implementing straight away. Is there any advice you would give in my context below
    I have a lot of scheduled meetings both operational and projects however I also run a team of 12 and throughout the day I have multiple people "Teams" messaging for immediate issues, how can I better manage my "Teams" messenger which has become basically another inbox

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  Рік тому

      Thanks for writing.
      Think about a way to delegate some of the Teams communication to a tech lead or senior-level person. I'm sure you don't need to provide all the answers yourself.
      In most cases, lots of messages means people lack priority or clarity on how to execute the plan. Spend some time to explain main workflows again.
      Also, ask people to resolve technical issues in private channels and update the whole team with information they need to know.
      But overall, I will repeat. As a project manager, you don't need to be preset in all communications.

    Can you tell me how to setup the same view as what you have in this video? I am using the desktop version of outlook.

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  Рік тому +2

      It depends on whether you are on Mac or Windows. But unfortunately, Mac, Win and Web have different set of available features. They don't match one to one.

      @@ITProjectManagers I’m using a PC with win 11. I noticed you were using a web version? Do you know how I can setup the same view on desktop version of outlook? I couldn’t figure it out today.

    How would you export ms project tasks to outlook?

    • @ITProjectManagers
      @ITProjectManagers  Рік тому

      You need to see if there is native integration. Check the documentation. Maybe this could help smallbusiness.chron.com/outlook-microsoft-project-51771.html
      Otherwise you can try to explore Zapier.

      Somehow I feel the “hate” towards outlook is more out of compulsion to hate it than an actual one😊😊😊
