Special thanks to RoyaltyFreeTube for a fantastic Background!!!!!
In terms of appearance the Narn are humanoid, hairless, generally taller than most humans and of a stocky build and have a yellow-orange complexion, distinctly mottled with patters of brown and/or green spots. Narn eyes are, for the most part, tinted red and gift them with very acute vision encompassing the infra-red spectrum.[2]
A supple yet tough bone structure and thick skin endows them with a higher degree of resilience to physical harm than most other humanoids; a trait the Centauri "pain technicians" have tested to its limit. Aside from mere protection, their tough, leathery epidermis not only manages both the internal and external body temperature but also stores quantities of fluids and energy that allow Narn to hibernate for several days at a time. This ability to regulate their bodies' water also means that common alcoholic intoxicants have little or no effect, except in considerable quantities. Based on season 1 alone you could believe the Narn were going to be the big bad of the show. Yet in season 2&3 it quickly turned out that their empire was a paper tiger. Their fleet was geared to the Monroe Doctrine and was heavily slanted towards the biggest capital ships they could build. They had little to nothing in the light cruiser/escort roles. Their military was top-heavy and cumbersome and slow to adapt. In open war the Centauri proved to have larger fleets, better technology and tactics. Their Vorchan light cruisers ran rings around Narn fleets, allowing them to pick and choose their battles while the heavy Primus cruisers mopped up the shattered dregs. The Narn’s obsession on revenge led them to build a fleet that looked good, but was weak when out to the test. The Narn would have fallen to the Centauri even without the Shadows backing.

The narn early behavior, while despicable, is actually pretty understandable. They were oppressed, brutally for a century. They did what many abuse victims do and identify with their abusers. They adopted machiavelian and expansionist policies because that was what the centauri had used with them. They wanted to prevent themselves from ever being subjegated again, and felt that the best way to make sure of that was by being as ruthless as their worst enemies.

I always perceived the Narns as turtle base for some reason, or amphibian base.

Marsupials = Australian Kangaroos. + Reptiles, as a partial base.

Their spots remind me of Dinotron (repaint of Neo Hardhead from BM). :P

This is all good but what was the ultimate fate of the race. We know humans got to the level of like Vorlons but we don't know if any of the other races joined them at that level of development.

Early on somebody said, and it may have been Kosh but I'm not sure, that the centori and the Narn we're a dying people. They may not have made it to the next level of advancement. But I don't know definitively.🎃👍

@@OmegaOrdained I remember the episode when Kosh said that. He could have been talking about both races but I have a feeling he was talking about the Centori. They call themselves a Republic but they are really a dictatorship the emperor is always right. Vir had the best of intentions for his people but after that who. They could have destroyed their own society.
The Nanar is hard to say. If more and more of them followed the book of G'Kar, I can see them reaching Vorlon level. Also the Mebari. Maybe a few other races.

tmorri603 there could be natural reasons as well that could have eliminated the Centauri or narn populations. There was that genetic plague that destroyed that one civilization, that could have had the Cure if they didn't eliminate the other population that was on their planet, sorry I forgot the names. Or War LOL. The Babylon 5 novels might have the answers you're looking for, but I don't know having not read them yet.🎃👍

@@OmegaOrdained I think JMS never answered that question of what became of the Narns or Centuari. The Humans and Minbari both became like the Vorlons and eventually went beyond the rim
