now i understand why i get super stressed when there's too much chattering around me when i'm trying to work....thank you!
You're welcome, and thanks for watching! And I'm right there with you---I had to get a pair of noise cancelling headphones. I definitely recommend them for those times when you can't get away from the chatter.
Same, I start reading things out and tapping foot or pen until I get so agitated that I stop reading

No one mentions how much it sucks being a visual learner because you can never just a read a plain text and remember it all😂
Right
Word
Horrible.
Don't you remember what it says in the page?
Trueee 😭
Took some notes for anyone in a hurry & later reference.
Tips:
1) Quiet Place
2) Colour coded notes
3)Charts/Graphs/Diagrams
4) Outline
5)Sit Up Front
Thank you for the video!!!
You're welcome!! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your notes with the group! 😊🙏
Prerna Kewat thanks again 😂
@@chelseadengwani5185 😂 what a coincidence
you forgot the time stamps
Aww...:-) tested live. It took 3-5 min to learn mentioned 5 tips in a normal way . but visually it takes less than a minute . it works.. thank you.
wow the tip about having a calm environment is changing my life lol -- I always wondered why I hated working at coffee shops or places with noises -- resonates with me! I also loved sitting in the front of my classes at school , I wish I knew all this earlier! Thank you for these
Awesome!! Yeah it always feels good when we start to understand ourselves better!
Yes
I'm a visual learner all of the way! I have to watch someone do something, which is why YT is great for me to learn new things. Great video!
Yes!!! I totally hear you... UA-cam is my #1 resource for learning anything new.
I’m such a visual learner! I have so many color mArkers , pens. Etc.. for my diagrams and drawings! Trying to figure out what is best way to study for nursing school! Thanks for this
Oh yes, I always loved different colors! Best of luck in nursing school!
As a visual learner who’s finally trying to figure out how to optimize his study habits, this was ridiculously helpful. Subscribed!!!
Thanks Karan! Great to have you join us!
One trick I learned recently that helped me a lot is - write in smaller font in the notebook. This way the entire topic can be written on a single page and it is easier to remember. So if a topic has 4 parts i can remember it easily if one part is on top left, another on top right and so on.
Great idea! Love that!
I like this alot
Oh gosh i love that!!! Thanks for the tip❤
I'm definitely a visual learner! The only way I manage to work my way through university articles is because I read the text several times, and every time I do I write notes in different colours, with bullet points and sometimes drawings. I also really enjoy good visual examples for difficult concepts, because once I understand the visual example I can so easily adapt it to new forms of information.
Awesome!! Sounds like you understand how you learn best really well. Good luck with your studies!
I am a visual learner and didn’t understand that until later in life. When I understood that, a whole new world of learning opened to me!! ❤❤❤
That's great!! 😊
I think I am a visual learner and one curious thing I have noticed is how I recall information.
For example if I want to recall something, then I need to picturize whether it was on the left/right page, top/bottom half.
As soon as that blurry image comes into my mind I am able to recall the entire thing.
Oh yes, that's definitely a trait of a visual learner!
Definitely the same with me, remembering the location of information helps me remember the information itself
SAME. But maybe because I just recently switched to buying ebooks (since it’s cheaper and doesn’t take much space), I find it a bit harder to grasp the book and imagine what page or where it is on.
its me :))
I just want to say thank you. All of these websites and quizzes and general how to know what learning style you are could not help me figure it out. But your explanation? It was spot on. I am a great speller, I remember my notes exactly on what page, I daydream in color, I remember the most detailed information of what someone looks like...all the other information out there on visual learners was not me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am doing my masters degree in medical science which is the first year of medical school and it has been so so difficult. I never really had to sit down and figure out what helped me until now. I used your tips for my biochemistry exam and I was able to remember so much more information. I can’t thank you enough. I don’t know why you don’t have enough views or subscribers because your channel is top notch. Maybe collaboration with a UA-camr who is not as indie as you are? You’re amazing, I really believe that God guided me to you that night because I was on the verge of tears. I switched up my entire way of studying and it has helped tremendously. Sorry for this being so long- I just wanted to say thank you.
Wow!! Thank you so much for such a beautiful and heartfelt comment. UA-cam can really take a lot of time and energy, but it's so nice to hear directly from the people I'm helping. I'm so happy you have a plan now for studying that really works for you. It makes a huge difference. As far as my channel, it takes time and consistency to build authority on UA-cam and gain a larger audience. I only just started posting this past February, so it'll take some time (like anything worthwhile) to build and grow an organic audience. But of course if you share the videos on social media or with your classmates, that would definitely help too! Again, I'm so happy you found the video helpful and keep me posted on how you do this semester!! All the best!
I too remember on what page my notes are. I mark numbers on my textbooks to remember all the points; and the pages with the points would just flash through my mind during exams. Always had a difficult time understanding the science subjects as they were very descriptive. Its kinda crazy but it gives you the push to just work even harder!
I remember the embarrassment of having to read several paragraphs spur of the moment, standing in front of 30 professionals. When I got done the lady teaching the class ask me what it meant. I told her I didn't know. She said you just read it. I told her I don't process words like that. Everyone looked at me like I just arrived on the planet.
This is not as uncommon as people think. Being able to read words on a page is very different from one's level of comprehension. Even comprehension itself is different for different people. Some may only get a basic comprehension and others much deeper. Also you were put on the spot in front of a large group. That would definitely affect your comprehension versus just sitting at home reading the same thing by yourself when you can go at your own pace and re-read parts that confuse you.
Thank you for the thoughtful reply.
Starting middle school, this helped because as much as I absolutely loved being around people ( and sometimes wanted to vanish ), it helps just to learn by myself especially maths, because I have a tendency to visualize the theory and stuff, so thx, definitely subscribed. I also love color coding, especially in complementary colors cuz it stands out from each other. Thank you so much!
I am definitely a video learner! Whenever I'm reading or studying, I have always liked being in quiet settings as well. Super helpful tips!
So happy it helped! 😉🍪
This is absolutely spot on, thanks for sharing. I have always been a visual learner but I didn't know until much, much later in life because no one else in my family is a visual learner.
While undergoing tests to see how epilepsy has affected my memory, it was found that my verbal memory was horrible (I can only remember 3 out of 30 words no matter how many times I hear it), but my visual memory is still strong (drawing complex shapes after only getting a glimpse of them). I also have always tested well with spatial recognition, and I assume other visual learners would as well.
Oh wow, thanks so much for sharing your experience! Yes, as a visual learner myself, I find it relatively easy to rotate shapes in my mind. You seem to be extremely visual though. I have come across other learners like you that are really on the extremes, where their spatial recognition is so good that it's off the charts yet they have some deficits in other areas. It might be worth your while to do some auditory memory drills on a regular basis.
I feel like I now know why I have trouble remembering names! I love that I can help myself at my workshops and retreats by using name tags! :)
Yes!! You'll be surprised by how many more names you remember if you use name tags. Or my other trick is to find them on Facebook because once I'm seeing their name next to their photo, I remember. And very cool you have a yoga channel. I taught yoga for a few years too!
I came across you videos and I have a very strong admiration towards you as you have taken initiative to learn and teach about different learning styles where our school or parents only look at our grades not caring about our different learning styles or try to understand them.
All the very best to you ❤
Aww thank you Tiyasha! I always think it's our responsibility as tutors, teachers, coaches, etc. to discover what works the best for each learner, that's our job! It's not about making the learner fit into our own agenda or how "we like to do things," that doesn't work well ;) It's about experimenting and finding what is most impactful to each student.
This all makes sense now. I'm an almost blind visual learner. My spatial intelligence is off the charts. Thank you for sharing.
Do you know any visual learners?? 👀
Yes I am actually a visual learner and yes I can not focus when a lot is going on in my environment especially noise. I did not know it was connected to visual learning! Thank you for sharing, glad we have that in common .I just subscribed and looking forward to your vids thank you :)
@@AdrianaPVillalobos Just watched your video too! We definitely have a lot in common because eventually I want to have a second channel about spirituality/life/forgiveness, etc. Thank you so much for sharing, and I look forward to connecting more!
I really love these videos! It's so nice to have these handy, they will help a lot of people!
@@LaurenHebert8 Yess!! I hope so :)
I am one. Your video really helped me a lot because I'm one person who loves colorful things and decorating my things but i have one question though, how do you study for a test when you are a visual learner because that is one thing i struggle with and my grades haven't been doing so good.
I'm just NOW realizing that I'm a visual learner and you described me perfectly 🤣
Awesome!! 🙌😊
I hate studying at crowded places like a cafe 'cause I keep distracted by people who arrives and I get irritated by their noise. As a result, I don't get to study. I prefer to be alone in a library or in my room. Nice video. Keep it up. 😊
Me too! The quieter, the better! 😉 Thanks for watching! 🙏🍪
It’s interesting cause I’ve learned that I am a kinesthetic and a visual learner, and in the kinesthetic video you mentioned they were interested in stuff like mechanics, which just happens to be the career of my choice, and then in this video you said visual learners like photography, which is my passion, and I was just like “WOAH 😳” freaky accurate. Great video! Really helped me know about my self!
SO COOL!! :) I'm glad it spoke to you, and it helped you learn about yourself!
Love to see a research paper demonstrating learning styles. Love to see a paper showing how these tips are detrimental to other "styles."
Hey! Visual Learner here! All the things you explained were very relatable! I’m so grateful for this video!
So happy it helped! Feel free to share with others who might benefit! All the best 📚😊
I’m a visual learner! Thanks for the tips! I will definitely keep this in mind. 😄🙏🏾
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful 😉 Thanks for watching!
I always sit in front, to take it all in. I "draw" my notes and colour code. I use post-it notes for tabbing my text books. Tip for when you have a noisy home - use earphones and play soothing music on loud to drown out the distractions and help you zone in.
Great ideas!
What you described was my childhood and I never knew why! But today I learned I’m a visual learner and everything makes more sense! I’m gonna try outlining for studying.
Sweet!! Best of luck! 😉
Thank you for taking the time to teach us. I loved it! You helped me understand how I could work more efficiently. :)
My heart warms by your stated fact that I was a visual learner since then, i doodle a lot, and ace my spelling, and quite imaginitive. Thank you for this information!
You're welcome!
I'm a visual learner, I really love colours and art. 😀
Thank you for this video. You really have a way of clearing things up perfectly. I’ve watched other videos and taking test and it seemed I was always a mixture of it all. But today I discovered who I really am. I am a visual learner… exciting!! I have always spelled words in my head, I love creative arts, doodler, quite the active imagination, and when someone asks where something is at… I picture it in my mind and can tell you exactly where it is. “Two shelves down and to the left of the…”
Thank you again for helping me make sense of it all and for all the study tips. Lol, now I know why I have to write all my notes in color and draw pictures 😁
Thanks so much for the lovely message!
I wish I knew this while I'm still studying, maybe my grades are better. But its never too late to learn, this is also helpful on daily lives. Thank you so much and more power
You're welcome! So happy that you found it helpful. And yes, most of us will definitely need to learn new things throughout our lives, so it's never too late!
Yes! All the descriptions you give it's me! What impressed me the most about your video was when you say it helps to sit in the front, I always do that without knowing I was a visual learner. It is true I get distracted easily seeing everything around me. I am also thinking meditation exercises I do that involve visualizations have helped me imagine in more detail places, people and items! 😊
Yes! First thing in the morning I like lying in bed for 15min while I visualize ;)
This is spot on. Whenever I meet new people, I ask how they spell their name and once I know how it’s spelled I tend to not forget it. Also makes me a lover of UA-cam learning because there’s normally infographics that I can follow
Yes so true!! I love learning new things on UA-cam.
Colours and setting up the way i understand is so important in remembering as a visual learner
You're very informative!Thank You
I love your content, I do have a suggestion. Can you include a summary in the description [main points, etc] for those that will learn better by seeing those points during/after the video. Thanks for considering my idea an keep at it with the great videos!
When I was in early grade school, I was a kinesthetic learner. As I’ve gotten older I never even noticed that my learning strategies changed until today. I took several test and found out i’m actually a visual now, and I looked up attributes and they literally all apply to me especially the ones you spoke about. The picturing names (i usually associate them with faces), the spelling perfectly, the doodling, diagrams, etc etc.
Very interesting! I've always been visual, even as a child, but I can definitely see how this could change over time. In our school system kinesthetic learning is the least accepted (you mostly have to sit still in a seat for many hours and are punished if you don't), so perhaps you had to adapt to your environment...? This is just a thought.
Thank you for the great tips!! I actually have been doing outline and I agreeee, super hepful! And I like to add more colours to my notes to help me as a visual learner and also to make things more happy- if that makes sense. Like, if I don’t really like the class, doing that makes the class feel better.
Awesome!! Glad you're doing it already ;)
I am a visual learner and was great a designing at school, however, have found it hard to work out what works for me. Good video.
I am a visual learner, thanks for these tips it really helps :)
Great! Thanks for watching!
😀😀
Great info. Very useful. I’m definitely a visual learner. I color code everything.
Hello, I'm a visual learner and I'm glad I found this video. You're very helpful to me for good, relatable study tips.
That's so good to hear, Vonyee! You might also like a video I made on Cramming for Exams if you ever need to study in a short amount of time! Thanks so much for watching! ☺️🙏
@@SharpCookie You're welcome
Love this. I used to draw pictures of all my history essays to depict the events. The people had big feet though and odd faces but that's cause I had no reference. When I drew a squirrel from a book it looked amazing. I can play animations in my head too which is useful for understanding aerodynamics and can feel the pressures changing with the shapes very useful for ideation. I love visual arts, graphics, film painting. I will try these new tips. Also you can put chemical bonds together to come up with chemical compounds. I did that once in class and the teacher said I must have looked it up in a book, I was like no, I just thought of it actually in my head.
This was really helpful! I have always been a visual learner, my mind is very easily distracted with noise or a thought. The different colored pens and highlighters is a great idea! I have usually always remembered things by outlines or pictures. I can see in my mind where the answer is under the headline and I can sort of see the pictures that were on the page too. I've never got A's on any of my tests! But, I'm hoping with this method you've shared now, I'll be able to study efficiently!! Thank you!!
You're welcome! We're very similar in that we both can visualize what a page looks like very easily, what a cool skill, right?! All the best to you!
i'm a visual learner, thanks so much for the tips! it really helped in school for me!
So glad it helped! :)
Thank you for the tips
Yes, I am one. I think I pretty much followed your tips just either because I was lucky or it felt right. I’ve know a lot of visual learners who needed to follow your advice. Okay, so I sat in the back of the room when possible, but other than that I followed them. And I do think it hurt my learning some. Thanks for the video, great information.
You're welcome!! I'm not surprised that a lot of youtube content creators are visual learners. We like to watch videos to take in information, so it's no surprise that we would have a desire to create them for others. And I totally hear you about sitting in the back of the room... I did that for most of my life. Now I'm at the age where I don't really get embarrassed about sitting up front if I'm at a workshop or lecture. And those are the seats that are usually empty! haha
Oh my god!! Today I realised i am a visual learner. Thank you so much! I really liked your video
This is so true for me. I have the HARDEST time working at home withy little siblings, the tv, and parents taking work calls all happening around me. I find that when I put my phone near me but out of my vision, it's as if it was not there and I am able to focus, if anyone needs help detaching from your phone while studying lol.
I hear you! I have to put my phone in another room or inside a drawer. I invested in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, and they're life changing! You can also get some really good ear plugs---I wear ear plugs a lot when I'm working ;)
thank you so much, this is very helpful
Actually now I had know the secret why I normally closed my eye and see Images, but I didn’t understand how it work. I’m happy to acquire that from you.
Great video!! As a visual learner myself I wish I seen this video back when I was in school. Great work!!
I wish I did too!! But it's never too late... we still learn as adults, so next time you're at a workshop or lecture or taking a course, you know what to do!! haha
Nothing much, though i wanna share these. I have a core intrest on paintings, arts etc.I do sketches even. I remember my lower grades study , i used to make photos maps , in my studies. But these days , i had started coping friends technique and reading the other way.. And offcourse i am not satisfied with results. I believe my natural learning process is by visualization. Thanks for the brief discription. This was really helpful🤗
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much!! I just finished high school and hopefully will get a seat in university I am aiming for in a week, I hope I can apply this into my study :D
You're welcome! I also have a video about cramming that might be helpful to watch ;)
good video!. sometimes i lost my technique. sometimes i can memorize while listen to music. sometimes i can memorize by visualize. but the doodle part,yeah.. i can say that im 80% visual learner. thanks for the tips!
You're welcome! Yes, I completely agree, most of us are a mix of types but there's usually a dominant one ;) You might want to check out the videos on verbal (ua-cam.com/video/-eyedrnGCv4/v-deo.html) and kinesthetic learners (ua-cam.com/video/eBN_OO94uBQ/v-deo.html) to figure out what your other 20% is 😉🍪
I legit went from stressing out like heck to happy and excited as I found visual learning to be much easier: Instead of learning facts about Charles ll, I do pictures of him and events he was in; Rye House plot.
I’ve got a history exam in 13 days. Wish me luck with this newfound knowledge 😄😄
Good luck on your exam!
I feel like I am both a visual and Kinesthetic learner. I do work well with outlines and am the one to doodle and like drawing, but also I've recently figured out that I have aphantasia to some degree as well. It doesn't really make sense to me how I can be able to at times see the things that I organize and can visualize it, but at the same time I can't picture or see things like an apple if someone say to or even be able to see my parents faces yet I know what they look like. I also find myself needing sound and distractions to get things done or am always fidgeting. I'm probably a 1 off case ,but just thought i'd share and say thank you for the videos.
That's so interesting! Thanks for sharing. It's amazing how we're all so different and unique.
I am a tactile learner, just discovered after 68 years. I will use your tips and I am sure it will get more out of my reading. Any other tips will be wonderful Sharp. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
This video was very helpful. This might be the reason why I can't remember the password for my combination lock but get it every time when I see the lock.
Fascinating. I'm such a mix between the verbal and the visual. Thinking back to school, I think it really made a difference what topic I was studying. Math and science I was definitely more visual. I remember my calc teacher even moving me to the front of the class!
Interesting! Yes I definitely think we're a mix. When you need to memorize something like an address or keycode, what do you usually do... Do you repeat it verbally several times or make a rhyme or song out of it or do you try to imprint it visually in your mind so that you see yourself punching in the keycode or see the numbers in your mind?
@@SharpCookie For an address I definitely go the verbal route of repeating it and/or using memorization technique (mnemonic, word association, etc).
Can you practice learning? Can I become a better visual learning? Or just stick to what comes naturally?
This is a really great question. You can 100% train yourself and improve in other types of learning or cognitive functions. What most likely happened is, as a child, you found a way that works for you and then kept doing it throughout your life, thereby improving that specific style and strengthening it even more. So you can consciously decide to start practicing memorizing something visually instead of verbally for example. Next time you need to remember an address, close your eyes and see it written out in your mind like a picture. Now the question about whether it's beneficial to train yourself in another way or stick to your current strengths is up to you! There's different schools of thought on this. Even as it relates to life, some people say cultivate what you're good at and others will say practice on improving what you're weak at. It's a bit of a balancing act---I think both is important. Working our brain in new ways than it's used to is always a good thing.
Thank you so much sharp cookie,I’m so much more confident now :)
Yay! 🤗
I'm such a visual learner! Loved the tips!

Awesome!!! 🙌🙌
I think I’m a visual learner because I can’t remember people’s name but the way they look. Also, videos helps me understand a topic even more.
You have a new follower, I loved this video I have a nine year old that is a visual learner and I had to take her out of school because she wasn’t connecting with the teacher at all ,she was struggling so much😔I will watch all of your videos so you can guide me in this journey of homeschooling .blessings to you😘

I think I am a visual learner and there's nothing wrong with sitting in front of a class to learn something. I have a school assignment exactly like this and thanks for educating me about visual learning.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Wow!! , I'm ADHD and I found recently, because of my diagnosis, that I'm definitely a visual learner, I used to highlight my textbooks but without using colors ( duh! :( ) ands also using caps between sentences in order to visualize the key points also without using colors (double duh! :( ). Now I can undestand why I was doing so, even when it was completely intuitive and done in a low effective way. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, greetings from Mexico!
So interesting!! Thank you for sharing your experience! Greetings from San Diego! 👋
I am definitely a visual learner. Spelling is life, lol. I love word searches, crossword puzzles, and problem solving. I enjoy using markers, colored pencils and colorful post it notes. I like to incorporate columns and categories. Lastly saying a word, using flash cards, or repeating a persons name are all very important to me
I've been getting into crossword puzzles too lately! And I'm also finding online chess enjoyable. I like visualizing different possibilities on the board and what each piece can "see."
nice video - thanks !!
Glad you liked it!
Definitely a visual learner! Such great tips!
Nice! I'm thinking we need a visual learner facebook group, haha
this was really helpful , thanks a bunch
You're welcome! 👋
Definitely visual 👀 right on point! 200% doodler lol👍🏻 all of the description resonates. Calm for sure cause I see every squirrel 🐿. I color code everything! My notes are all pictures. So on point! I always sat in front 😁
loved that you wrote "I see every squirrel" that's how my husband describes me lolol
Omg the squirrel comment made me laugh so hard!! 😂 You are 200% visual learner!
I am fall in love the way you explain each details. Your enthusiastic attitude grab my attention without fail ❤️❤️❤️
Aww thank you! :)
I made mini notes, off my sub notes, from my sisters notes, from the one chapter in the book. 🙃 been studying Real Estate for almost one year and still trying to learn! Oh yea, color really helps in my studying!
This was very helpful thank you❤️
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching! 🍪😉
The spelling part is TRUE! I see words when i close my eyes
You described my learning to a T!!!! Thanks!
Am currently in grade 11, and I only know my times tables because I still remember a page containing the times table from 2 to 12 (three pages actually)vividly in don’t even have to calculate anything I just see it and this was when I was in grade3
Lol i color code everything and have an ocd obsession with the way it looks on paper and whether or not i understand the highlights later when taking one look at it!
I loved this video! Thank you S2
😁😁
You’re so dead on. Outline everything!!! I I always added a doodle to each outline topic. 😂
Too funny!! ;)
Great video! so useful for mee!
Awesome! So glad it was helpful!
I'm definitely a visual learner. Thank you soo much
I'm actually writing exam next week
You're welcome!! Thanks for watching! :)
THIS IS SO ME💯‼️🤣🤣🤣 most especially the word spelling stuff, the name tag and sitting in front of class (most especially now in Graduate School) 🤣🤣🤣 now I understand why studying in coffee shops doesn’t really work for me no matter how hard I try! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I’ve also watched your video on the verbal learners. and I think I’m a 70-30 of visual-verbal learner, I need to see and hear/listen to better understand, and I love speaking/reporting 😁😁😁
Nice!! 🤓🤓
