As a male verbal learner, life has been difficult. Thank you! I feel seen.
I hear you! Yes, it's a lot more acceptable for females to be verbal learners in most societies.
I absolutely love this series. I stumbled upon it looking for videos on the theory of multiple intelligences, but I am learning so much about myself. I never thought of myself as a verbal learner, but a lot of what you described really fits, and explains why I do certain things when studying. I always use UA-cam videos and because I am a visual learner, I always have subtitles on. I have found that both reading and listening at the same time helps cement the information. I also need sound when I am studying. I will either put on a movie that I have seen multiple time, or I listen to music, though I do listen to music with lyrics. My favorites though are movie scores, big dramatic long movies like Star Wars, Indiana Jones and my all time favorite study music is anything related to the six Tolkien movies. Listening to your tips, I feel reassured that I am making the right study decisions for myself, even though my husband thinks I'm crazy that I can listen to Nirvana's Nevermind album while writing a paper and still get an A.
I relate to these a lottt. I love to read and write, take notes directly onto my book, and say what I’m studying out loud. I haven’t tried mouthing the words yet but I feel like it won’t be as effective for me. I also like to discuss about the topics to my classmates which is a win-win for all of us! When you brought up the speech-to-text function where I could just talk instead of type, I felt like my mind was blown. Really amazing video and I’m so happy to discover what type of learner I am! Thank you very much
Yay! So glad it helped!

I am a visual learner but it is not bad to learn some skills that help me become more verbal. The tips are very practical. 🙏 Thanks, love from India
So happy it helped! Thanks for watching!
I love this explanation!
Sweet! Thanks for watching 🤗
I learnt a lot, thank you so much!
You're welcome! 🍪😁
It`s really informational, thank you so much :)
Thanks so much for watching! 🍪
Very Informative!
Thanks! 😁🍪
When you started giving information about verbal learners i felt like you were speaking to my soul😂, however for the spelling part i actually find myself really i terested in learning how a word is spelt and i hate typos so that's for that💗
Awesome, thanks for sharing! Good point, not everything will apply to everyone ;)
Interesting topic. Good tips about software tools.
Yup! My students with dyslexia use dictation software a lot
great start!! looking forward to watching you grow :) new sub here
Thanks Sheila! 🦄🤗
My style of Studying is mixed, I learn by having a hands on approach, which helps me memorise processes better, like trying do a certain exercise,
I also prefer to listen to podcasts as the information sinks in easier, I simply can't do something if I don't actively listen to something,
I like to voice act in my spear time and make different voice impressions, not only that I like discussing different topics I am very passionate about,
I like debating with people, a healthy argument make's me remember crucial details from a certain area from the conversation.
really don't know what category I fall in.
You sound like a mix of auditory and verbal ;)
Thank you, so much Janice! Your information regarding the learning styles is very helpful.
I have got a question though, traits of Verbal learner matches with Auditory learners. Specially, listening to music, song, rhyme, reading out loud, etc.
Also this one matches with Kinesthetic learners, since I visualizes KL who enjoys doing things by himself/herself. Thus, is it possible to related solving word puzzles etc with Kinesthetic learners traits as well?
Hoping for a kind response.
Wish you a great time ahead!
Thank you very much for all your wonderful lessons! 💐
Every learner is unique so there's definitely some overlap of learning styles. Experiment with different tips and find out what works best!
I'm more of an introverted type so i don't find myself comfortable talking out loud..so I just whisper to myself instead?
Yes absolutely, I even have some of my students mouth things out without sound while they're taking tests.
Would love to know if there are a test that you like to recommend
Scary how well you know me.
Hahah :)
Paschler (2009) disproved learning styles.
chile anyways 👩🏽🦯
So I think of this category as read/write. I’m very much a word person and most of your description fits me. But I don’t like discussing something while I’m still learning and internalizing it.I would think talking it out would be more of an auditory learning trait?
Usually not every single trait will resonate. It's important to find the style that fits you the best. Yes talking out loud is also a trait for auditory learners. And yes, I've definitely seen different names used for this category. And some only break up the learning styles in 3 groups instead of 4 groups. It's just a tool for greater understanding---I don't focus too much on the small differences. The main traits I see in my students for this style is a love of words, which can show up in different ways... reading challenging books, doing crossword puzzles, looking up new vocab words, learning new words in other languages, etc. For many of this style, this also translates to verbalizing a lot. They tend to have large vocabularies and enjoy discussions, but of course, that wouldn't be everyone. They might be drawn to philosophy or political science, the types of majors where there's more talking and discussing possible solutions with others in a classroom setting.
Sounds definitely like me!
Nice! 😁🍪
I am a visual learning but verbal learning is not my strong suit, thank you for this.
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching ;)
Am a visual learner sometimes I think I would just give up
Hello
Can voice recording notes and relistening to them be of benefit to verbal learners?
Hi, Yes it would, even just making the recording where you have to say all your notes out loud would help. I also recommend that when you’re listening to it, you pause the recording every so often and summarize what it’s saying out loud to yourself.
I think I'm verbal but spelling isn't a difficulty for me , but I do struggle with visuals especially in natural sciences with the graphs and charts etc
Does it still making me a verbal learner? 😢
WHEN YOU ARE AUDITORY + VERBAL LEARNER 😂 i literally loose marks at graphs nd maps ... THNK U for the amazing tips
You're welcome!
This one seems very similar to auditory learning
I was a verbal learner in school.now it's hard i don't know why?
I'm a combination of a visual and auditory learner. What to do?
Great question! Yes, most people are a combination. I would try strategies that apply to both of those and see which works best for you. For example, most visual learners prefer to read information versus listening to the audiobook. Because you're a combination, try both and see which way you're able to retain more information.
I read aloud but whenever i had to study up to 10hrs ,my throats really hurts.. what shall i do??
Just mouth out the words or whisper quietly to yourself
Awesome video. Enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for sharing. New friend & hope for your return of love 💗
Is it possible to be both a kinesthetic and verbal learner?
Yup!
I talk a lot so I'm probably a verbal learner!
Yes totally!! Verbal learners like to talk everything out loud ;)
Ok
Which types of techniques should I use If I feel both a verbal learner and a visual one? I feel like I am 50% and 50% and they seem like being the opposite of ea h others 😂
Try different strategies and see what works best for you!
@@SharpCookie thank you!❤
Am I the only one that teaches teddy bears 😅
Nope
I cannot go to library..
I wish you were my teacher
☺️🙏
How can i know my style
Hi I recommend watching the four videos I have on learning styles and notice which characteristics describe you the best
What is difference between auditory and verbal?
Great question! Different learning paradigms use different names for the learning styles. Some call the verbal style "verbal-linguistic" or "reading/writing." Some even interchange the verbal and the auditory. For me, I see the key difference in that verbal learners are closely connected to words---they like word games like scrabble and it's easy for them to learn foreign languages. They usually have a strong vocabulary. They enjoy reading. Auditory learners are more about sound and hearing. They prefer to get information by listening, so listening to podcasts, audio books, and lectures. It's easy for them to hear voices in their mind, so when they're recalling verbal instructions or information they can usually hear their teacher's voice in their head.
@@SharpCookie thnx for answering me I am kinesthetic learner and the tips you gave they really changed my life and I feel better about myself now😁
