    My wife and I visited China 5 times in the 2 years before covid. Spent 6 nights in Chongqing and found it very safe, just like every other place we visited. We'd wander streets at night - even parks - and never once felt threatened though we were both in our late 60s. Fantastic country and people.

    I was in Chongqing during the hectic May Labour Day holiday (video coming next week) and it was incredible!! I’ve never seen that many people in one place at one time…
    Never for a second felt unsafe, however.
    Even in ways you wouldn’t think of.
    For example, I was near the bridge with hundreds of thousands of others. In many other countries, this amount of people could lead to a stampede. Not here in China!!
    They had policeman directing crowds, making sure everywhere was okay, closing off areas before they got overwhelmed.
    Excellent 👏👏

I use Toronto as an example because that's my city. You will have people preaching about politics or religion in 1 corner, another corner you will have people protesting about anything. And then you will have people smoking weed, littering the streets here and homeless people there... Nothing pleasant walking in downtown anymore

    China is a big country. Many Chinese probably don't know where all the provinces. China actually has 4 ancient capital cities. Beijing is more famous because it is the current capital. Shanghai is more westernized. Xi'an, Nanjing and Luoyang are the other three capital beside Beijing. Chongqing is closest to Xi'an where you can see the terracotta warriors and also where the ancient silk road began.

      If you enjoy Chinese culture and historical landmarks, Beijing and Xi'an have been the capital cities of various dynasties with the highest number of times in history. If you like natural landscape, as long as it is a frontier province, there are great scenery, such as Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Tibet. If you like ultra modern cities, then you must go to Shanghai. If you like slow living, Xiamen and Chengdu are good choices.

    • @williamlucas5852
      @williamlucas5852 Рік тому

      @@chao-1oveandpeace Are the americans really free to do what they want ? If you think they are, then you are seriously misguided. They dun even actually have the "freedom of speech", which they are always bragging abt. When they dun like what you are saying they will fire you from your job (think Tucker Carlson). Even when you say something wrong in the social media like Tweeter you will get censored and banned (think Trump). Even the President himself can't just say what he wants. What a joke!
      Are they really free to walk around the streets. esp at night, without the fear of being mugged or killed ? Are they really free from worrying abt the safety of their kid each morning when they send him to school ? (think. mass shooting)
      And "prosperous" ?
      Only the elites there are rich. The majority of the common people are struggling just like any other countries too. Thats why there are so many homeless people all over the country who can't even afford to own a house. And people holding 2 or 3 jobs just to survive is also not uncommon. Plus the fact that their cost of living is very high, so they may seem to be earning more than others but, dollar for dollar, their actual purchasing power is def lower than people living in a country with lower cost of living.
      People always assume that the americans have a lot of freedom and are very wealthy, but actually by and large, they are not. Most countries now in the 21st century are equally as good (if not better) as them.
