It just bc the Chinese gov did a best job such like " set up so many cctv every area to make sure it will be more safety while citizens going out. Plus citizens are trust and believed this way more safe for them. Living in China which you can able to walking alone by yourself at middle of the night in the dark area without worry about someone behind will rob you. Also if you leave your phone or labtop inside your car 100% noone will brake your care window and stole it. This the big different compare from the west.

Mate, I went to China and I never felt so safe in my life, and I'm a white Aussie bloke. I went out shopping in Beijing and Shanghai at 3:00am and I was surprised at the number of single people, including young women, walking around with ease. I went to USA and I felt nervous. There was NO WAY I'd go out in LA or NYC after Midnight. And I was warned by many NOT to go to certain suburbs, even during the day. In USA, Citizens carry guns and there are 40,000 Gun related deaths EVERY year in USA. Virtually Zero gun related deaths EVERY year in China, Australia, and every other developed Country in the World.
China is far more safer to visit than USA. And the citizens of China were extremely welcoming, respectful, and helpful. In USA you needed to be very careful who you approached. There were too many ANGRY citizens in USA.

Another has all her children, as young as 5, telling their voters that even her family are trained to kill other Americans. The USA Republican Party are constantly telling Americans to go and shoot other Americans. The whole country is insane. You can go to a shopping centre, buy some tomatoes, carrots, milk ... and an AR Rifle.
They have FAMILY FRIENDLY FIREARMS??? The sell them like they sell their burgers. This is why they have 40,000 USA Citizens die from Gun deaths every year ... while the rest of the developed world have virtually ZERO gun related deaths, every year.

And the people know better than to do a criminal act. Of course, crime and bad people are everywhere. But in China, punishment is enforced to the the letter. Do drugs and you go to jail. Sell drugs and you die. The law is in black and white, no in between. Americans should call for the strict enforcement and strict application of the laws. Thank you for taking the time, like many other vloggers from the West, to show what China is really like. The politicians of the West want the world to think that China is a horrific totalitarian regime, and all of its people are downtrodden, oppressed, and desperately unhappy. In fact, most people in China are prosperous and doing better and better. They are hard working, and they enjoy their down time. Chinese cities are safe, well maintained, and there are no beggars. The subways are ultramodern, and safe. The shopping malls are huge, futuristic, and safe. What you showed in your video are streets full of happy people enjoying their city, and these streets are also safe. China is not the only place where this is true. But it is certainly far from the unhappy place that many leaders of the West want their people to believe.

I was born and grew up in Beijing and then came to Chicago US. I have 30 years of living experience in China and 32 in US. I went back to China 4 or 5 times for vacation. On public safety, difference between China and U.S. is day and night. One of encounters when I traveled in China was that
I was in chengdu sightseeing and passed by a convenient store. All of sudden I remembered I need to buy a tooth paste. So I walked in and found it and took it to register. To my surprise, a little cute girl who was 6 years old and standing on a bench attended it. I handed over my stuff and she skillfully scanned my purchases and told me how much. I paid. Then I asked her how old she was and where her parents are. She said 6 and her dad and mom were in the back eating lunch and then said thanks and turned to next customers. Having been living Chicago for so many years I found myself not completely transitioning to Chinese social environment. Now I finally understand why people say China is not only different country but different civilization.

I stayed in Seattle redmond for almost 2 years and rarely went out to mall for fun after I experienced and knew the gunshots in public news. The gunshots happened a few blocks away from my airbnb in Tacoma. I heard it in the midnight and decided to pack and leave without asking for refund the next day. Yes, I was scared and I felt there is too much freedom in US. just way too much

As a Chinese, I thought other countries would also be safe to walk around alone in the evening with the streets brightly lit with busy malls and exciting events. Though we don't have your kind of freedom, but our government did have done a good job on cracking down on crimes and enforcing very very strict drug control policies to keep its people safe in general.
