WOW~I'm surprised that your first video was 15 years ago! Perhaps this trip to Chongqing was too cultural shock. It is not a marine civilization, but an inland civilization, and it is also an inland mountain city, which is why its construction is so 3D.

It's really important to read all of the conditions for the "144-hour transit visa free" to visit China in this way, and follow the rules to the letter. This means your flight leaving the city you arrived in (in China) must be to a third country. So...
LHR - PEK - FRA - LHR: this is fine - Heathrow to Beijing, then Beijing to Frankfurt, then Frankfurt (Germany is your third country) back to Heathrow.
MAD - PVG - BCN : This is not ok. You are flying from Madrid in Spain to Shanghai (your destination in China), then returning to Spain (in this case Barcelona)
    🙂

Chongqing (this isnt English, and it should be pronounced as Chong Ching) only became a tourism hot spot in recent years, historically it was a "Back up" city of China, and together with the city of Chengdu they were designed to be the temporary Capital of China in war time, the central government would be evacuated to either Chongqing or Chengdu if Beijing fall

I love the way you guys present everything, intercontinental not serving "basic white bitch" oatmilk got me rolling LOL. And I can't believe the mall "botanical garden" near my home became so famous that even foreigners go for a tour on purpose! Well, welcome to CQ :D

It is totally your own responsibility to sort all those immigration and visa things before you going to a country, It is the same immigration and visa requirement for Chinese citizens visiting your country too. The same thing happened to your Thai girlfriend who did not fulfill the visa requirement to go to South Korea. How come Western tourists alway seem lost when they travel to China and some other Asian countries? Why would they expect local residents speak English while they don't speak a word of Chinese? FYI, China has implemented a new policy extending visa-free entry to travellers from six nations: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia for a duration of 15 days. The policy will kick off on December 1, 2023 and run through November 30 of 2024. Hopefully your stay in Chongqing is a pleasant one at least despite all the confusing visa requirement.

If you wanna see a better example of 'dystopian' in the context of oppressive societal control and the illusion of a perfect society maintained through corporate totalitarianism but without the futuristic vibe maybe check out LA. Has better burgers than Chongqing, has an element of danger for those seeking adventure and plenty of colourful character that roam the streets that seem to be absent from this video

Quick tip... That "sausage u were eating was pig intestine. All those "VR" stations you saw (and showed in video) were massage machines.
Most importantly.... next time if you're not going to do any sightseeing and for the most part stay around your hotel then you should at least try to talk to more locals and meet people. It's the best and really only way to get a true "vibe of a city"
Just a observation I've learned over the years traveling. Good travels to you.
