Regarding Eddie McDowd, I watched the series the whole way through as a kid and the episode you saw definitely deviated from the norm of the show. Might have even been the darkest episode. They never acknowledged the dog years again, and it was really just so they could have a one-off "dog thing" happen to him, which is pretty standard for the formula. The only continuity is how many deeds were left, but even with that, I remember them showing new episodes back-to-back where the deeds didn't line with the counter, like the first new episode being Deed 66, while the next was deed 64. Not sure if they were just trying the expedite them to finish the series, or it it was a scheduling decision. The drifter would also sometimes add a deed to the counter if he felt Eddie was misbehaving, so the series could theoretically go on longer. Not sure if the show was any good if I rewatched it, but the premise was enough to hook me as a kid. Eddie was also voiced by Seth Green, which was a hilariously unfitting voice for his human self, whose face was obscured in the first episode for the sake of surprise when he turned back human (never happened due to Nick cutting the show after 2 seasons).
I vividly remember watching some of this live seeing it again. Something feels so odd about how I watched a Spongebob premiere alongside these other long defunct Nick shows. Spongebob feels like it was at least part of the Nick era that came after it (FOP, Jimmy Neutron, etc), but those episodes from 99 really show how far the show goes.
I just realized that the ending of Catdog 3001 could have led into Samurai Cat(Dog), with Catdog trying to find its way back to the present after being sent further into the future.
Chalkzone came from Oh Yeah Cartoons. Kenan & Kel ended in 2000 so they didn't have much left. Most likely, I was at home and watching this that night. I liked Eddie McDowd but they had a continuity issues like someone earlier mentioned.
3:51 YES one of the best SpongeBob episodes ever such a great classic and was perfect for Nickeleniumm and the 1999 Countdown to 2000 on Nick let’s Go!! SP-129
Loved this Nickellenium Countdown 1999 to 2000 love this especially with futuristic episodes from fan favorite shows such as Catdog, Kenan and Kel and of course SpongeBob with fan favorite Ep SP-129 love such a great episode
I remember this! I was in 3rd grade at the time. I also remember being bored during those kid interviews they played all day on Jan 1st. Since our household didn't have Disney or Cartoon Network yet, I spent most of that day playing outside.
This was a cool and weird topic for a vid that I wasn’t alive for yet But I love the SB ep, like the chalk zone one and the catdog and angry beavers ones are dope! (Edited a day later after watching some episodes)
7:33 Look I know that the episode’s trying to be all futuristic as a means of separating Cat- and -Dog, but come on, their design is so much more appealing having them together. I don’t know how the animators made them look surprisingly cute stuck together but they did and it’s what can make me get by the show
Honestly the top 3 best episodes out of the 8 from Nickellennium are definitely SB-129 from SpongeBob, Futurama from Kenan and Kel and Catdog 3001 from Catdog
You read my mind cuz I was just thinking about this! I wasn’t there because I was 4 and had no control of the 📺 but I have done research and it must’ve been an awesome event to witness! Edit: most of these characters went to the year 3000 before Busted OR The Jonas Brothers!
If, for some reason there are multiple copies of Dangerous in there, you can save one for me because compared to the Game Boy there’s a chance that the copy/possibly copies would actually *work*

Yeah, SB-129 is definitely the most iconic out of these. I just gave it another watch for New Year's.

I never thought of that! That's brilliant!
@@FrazFlub-n1p Thank you, and they have to undo the future that is Winslow the 38th

"No more Pauly Shores films" - Dag
Best universe
6:03 With the Y2K Aesthetic making a comeback, this episode use of chrome really stands out more.
I was born in December 1997 and I remember watching CatDog 3001 and many other cartoons from that era
i was obsessed with kablammmm
I lived in a foster home at this time in 1999/2000 that did not have cable TV, so I missed out on this event...
There's some futuristic irony with ChalkZone Season 1 being completed in 1999 and ready to air in 2000 yet being delayed until 2002
Really, Why So?

Oh man I remember when me, my bro and sister tuned in on Nickelodeon back in 99, that was a wonderful and rad event.

Dibs on the back to the futur dammit you beat me to the punch
Sadly the millennium didn't turn out like this at ALL! 😭
Kenan and Kel is nick’s best sitcom!
I agree
Kenan and Kel is totally one of my fave 90's Nickelodeon shows!
8:14 Almost like the infamous "If It Smells Like an Ed".
SpongeBob was truly the best one
I prefer the CatDog one.
@@FrazFlub-n1pBoth are pretty dark
There are good episodes from the other shows, but SB-129 is legendary

Yea
Well,happy new year for everyone.🎊
And always keep an eye on what might happen in the *FUTUREEEE !*
SB-129 should have been called SB-128

8:42 CatDogs Humor is twisted while also malleable.
I remember this. Sadly they didn't make a New Years episode of *my*! They didn't think I was worth it! 😭
Show
What allen strange episodes does latanya brooks appear in?
Did Nick Australia air nickelenium? I know the us and UK did?
Also pretty ironic how SpongeBob didn't premiere in Australia until March of 2000?
Aussie here and idk since I wasn’t alive yet and didn’t watch nick until 08’
Yes!! This is how I entered Y2K. I'm glad I experienced it.
I never liked CatDog growing up. I always thought it was too mean
I was around for Y2K though I didn't know about it
2:19 Dibs on the MJ Album!
Dibs on the Rollerblades!
If, for some reason there are multiple copies of Dangerous in there, you can save one for me because compared to the Game Boy there’s a chance that the copy/possibly copies would actually *work*
Dibs on the Reebok Pumps
NOW I GET IT!
Wait did you edit the TARDIS into SB-129 or was that in the video you were using already? That's not in the original, right?
Phil Berg is Squilliam Fancyson!
Interesting years
1999+2000=3999
The fact you consider SpongeBob the best Nick show automatically invalidates anything said after that point.
#QUITEONSET
SpongeBob is Nickelodeon's greatest show?! I totally disagree!
What would you say is?
