I remember the time when I had the option to buy either Panzer Dragoon Saga or Magic Knight Rayearth for the Saturn and I chose Magic Knight Rayearth. I'd mention Project Gotham Racing 2, which is essentially stuck on the original XBox. It was one of those games that you could kinda sorta play on XBox 360 in backwards compatibility mode but it had terrible slowdown playing on XBox 360 compared to playing it on an OG XBox. Sadly, XBox refuses to support any Project Gotham Racing game in backwards compatibility mode on XBox Series X, almost certainly because Microsoft doesn't want to pay for re-licensing the cars and music (plus race circuit licensing for the Nurburgring Nordschleife) even though they would presumably only be offering the PGR games to people who already own physical copies of the games where all of the licensed content would theoretically still be covered under first sale doctrine.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is for sure the one with the best chances of getting redone in some way at some point, as it doesn't have any copyright issues and such like the others. It just needs a demand of some kind, or a Kickstarter to gauge interest and get it off the ground. If the crowd funding fails, well they will know the interest isn't there and move on, but I could see something like that going rather high. As there are just so many people who are probably interested, but don't want to pay the high retail, or play by emulation with the janky Saturn graphics.
Sega has recently been developing tons of sequels to many of their older franchises. Right now they have brand new sequels in development for Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, and some others. IF Sega's objective succeeds and most of those sequels sell well, I can easily see them looking at Panzer Dragoon Saga (Sega owns the Panzer Dragoon franchise) and would strongly consider remaking it from the ground up.

Not the best game but a remake or more games in it's world would be awesome. Vampire Hunter D for PS1. If Nightdive Studios could remaster Turok 3 without even having the Source code? They can remaster The Punisher 2005 for both current consoles and pc. Definitely mandatory to remove the censorship too. The Punisher game that will likely never return is the PS3 digital only game Punisher Warzone. I missed getting that one and have only seen it watching UA-cam videos. At least we finally got a great home port for Capcom's Punisher Arcade game from the 1990s.
It just takes a lot of reverse engineering or recreating things by eye -- not exactly what we traditionally call "remastering", and a time consuming practice, but it's doable.

That would be awesome. Right now, the only modern equivalent to Black &White is the modern VR game called Townsmen VR (it's not 100% like Black & White, but it's pretty close enough). I heard Townsmen VR sold pretty well enough to make a profit. I'm hoping the next Townsmen sequel adds in more stuff and gets even closer to Black & White (and make it where it's a hybrid game so it's playable on both flatscreen and VR)
PT - Why hasn't this been cracked and spread on pirate sites? The Simpsons: Hit and Run - I've only played this a little, but one thing I hate about it are the green arrows in the road showing you where to go. Why do I hate this? Because it shows that the developers thought their players were stupid. The 3D GTA games used a mini-map, Crazy Taxi used an arrow showing which direction you needed to go, but TS:HAR didn't trust players to be able to follow such complicated mechanisms, so they explicitly SHOW you where to go, like you're an imbecile.
A lot of these never being again unfortuantely make sense but not C-12. I see no logical reason a port, remake, or sequel couldn't be made. I loved C-12. It was like Syphon Filter post apoaclypse with aliens, cyborgs, and cool scifi guns.

The problem with licensed games is often that the rights can be really messy and split up over several parties. I don't know the specifics (contracts vary from case to case) but it's possible the rights are shared by: 1) the developer, Volition, who no longer exist (was owned by Emracer, now who knows) 2) THQ, the publisher, who no longer exist (Embracer owns/owned _most_ of their rights) 3) Marvel/Disney 4) since it ties into the movie, possibly the movie studio 5) Thomas Jane might retain rights to his voice and likeness 6) some of the music rights likely with several other companies You get the idea...

Another Code will never get another sequel. Yes they recently did a shitty remake on the Switch, but we ain't getting any more than that.
How did they even remake it for Switch when the games always used the consoles they were on as the main gimmick for puzzles?! I was really curious about it but it always sounded pretty phony as a remake to me :(
Sucks we'll never get a new game!
@@queendiamond770 Yeah the thing is they didn't even use the Switch's unique features as replacement puzzles, they just made some new generic puzzles like pull these switches in the right order or put these two music sheets on top of each other to form a complete song.
But yeah, the chances we'll get a new sequel are slim to none.
These games are like my dad. Gone and never to be seen again
Hello son it's me, mcheezy sr
@CulturedVultures father, where is the milk?
Spider-Man shattered dimensions is probably my favorite spider-man game
Edit: haven’t played Spider-Man 2 ps5 yet
TIMESPLITERS! Lol
How many games you called greatest of all time?
CV: YES
MORE
How we feelin' out there? How’s your drive time commute?
I need a saga !
I'd like to see a new Dan Dare game
I'd really hate it if Z or Deathtrap Dungeon were ever rereleased. Really Really hate it
Z had a cool aesthetic. I barely remember the gameplay though.
@@todesziege it was kind of like Command & Conquer you build buildings to make these like little red robots and you have to go round the map capturing other buildings & beat the opposite blue team. I was addicted to that game as a kid. I think a late Emu (See what I did there Jimmy?) gave me a copy to play on my phone a few years ago
@@shadowbullets24 Yeah, I remember it was an RTS. But I don't remember enough of the specifix to understand why someone would hate to see it back (unless you were being ironic, which I'm starting to think you were).
@@todesziege I was being sarcastic. I'd really "hate" it (Love it) if a remaster was ever done or a port to the PS Classics. I probably should've used air quotes in my original comment
@@shadowbullets24 Yeah that makes more sense. I really struggled to imagine how Z --- an at worst unremarkable game from my recollection --- could have upset someone to the point where they bring it up out of the blue 30 years later...
Deathtrap Dungeon I at least remember being fairly divisive.
Sorry for wasting your time on this ^_^
Not the best game but a remake or more games in it's world would be awesome. Vampire Hunter D for PS1. I mean, there's like 50 Vampire Hunter D books to work with & all we got was a okish at best Resident Evil clone. They could do so much more with that franchise, and I think they'd be hit, but never going to happen.
That PS3 Punisher game was ass! Missing nothing haha
It just takes a lot of reverse engineering or recreating things by eye -- not exactly what we traditionally call "remastering", and a time consuming practice, but it's doable.
Most Sony and Sega IPs.
Sony
Wild Arms
Legend of Dragoon
Legend of Legaia
Arc the Lad
Grandia
Killzone
Little Big Planet
Ico
Shadow of Collosus
Twisted Metal
Sega
Shining Wisdom
Fantasy Star
Virtual Fighter (heard it might come back)
Space Channel 5
Shenmue (don't know if there will be 4-6).
The queens of the stone age reference came out of nowhere. Love it
I don't think panzer dragoon saga had 25,000 made I got my copy when it was first released and it was very hard to find then. I almost had to part with mine because I was homeless for a while. Sadly my saturn was thrown away... Still pissed off about that! When you get evicted no one cares about your belongings...
the Black and White god game series by Lions Gate needs to come back
That would be awesome.
I would like to see the ogre shining force games come back and definitely Shining Force 3
Happy new year to the mandem.
New years resolution for no more outro gangs? Gutted jimmy lad, any idea when the bins are due out yet? I haven't seen my feet in a week
my bins have been CLEANSED
@CulturedVultures soon then I suspect 👀
always enjoy the videos. upvote this time for the edge/cope joke
Defjam Fight For New York… unfortunately greedy licensing will make sure it never happens.
Megaman Legends 3 😢 my beloved
PT - Why hasn't this been cracked and spread on pirate sites?
The Simpsons: Hit and Run - I've only played this a little, but one thing I hate about it are the green arrows in the road showing you where to go. Why do I hate this? Because it shows that the developers thought their players were stupid. The 3D GTA games used a mini-map, Crazy Taxi used an arrow showing which direction you needed to go, but TS:HAR didn't trust players to be able to follow such complicated mechanisms, so they explicitly SHOW you where to go, like you're an imbecile.
Alliance: Silent War
A lot of these never being again unfortuantely make sense but not C-12. I see no logical reason a port, remake, or sequel couldn't be made. I loved C-12. It was like Syphon Filter post apoaclypse with aliens, cyborgs, and cool scifi guns.
Xenogears. Square may own it, but Tetsuya Takahashi and co. are part of Nintendo now.
:(
And he have no interest in remaking old games either
Lost "P.T." due to hard drive failure. Still salty about it.
How could you not mention the game that project Gotham racing was born out of? Metropolis street racer... Come on man 😂
You are the most plosive speaking man ive ever heard. Your b's snd p's are like 808 booms in a rick ross song.
you've never met me, you'd know I am actually Rick Ross otherwise
Godzilla ps4 is one of my favorite pieces of gaming memorabilia... paid 25 bucks for it, had a ton of fun with it even if it's pretty janky... plus, it's very pricey these days!!
every time I look at the price, it's gone up!
Same I had imported the JP version for ps3 for $90 when it first came out and then they announced the ps4 version and picked it up as well for $30 new
During Co-v-id in late 2020, I spent my entire $1200 stimulus check to buy Panzer Dragoon Saga. My favortie game of all time for the Saturn. Zero regerts what so ever.
Got mine for $50 no regrets 😂
@Saturnsonic95 me too. At release. It was ruined during one of the hurricanes we had a few years ago that messed up the house, and I wanted to replace it. Sucks I had to pay so much to get another copy, but I love that game.
Great use of tax dollars right there
Bro!! You are quite handsome!! Don’t keep hiding that pretty face of yours! lol
Gods damn, I LOVED Twin Snakes. Still have my copy. It was SUCH a good remaster/remake of the first game.
I know people hate it but I got the softest of spots for its nonsense
I hope your wrong about Panzer Dragoon Saga. But you probably aren't 🙁
good thumbnail, couldnt resist the click 👍
P.T is kinda is overhyped. not bad but not revolutionary either (glorified repeated walking simulator horror ). If Kojima's sh had happened these pt sections prolly would've been very sparse. That isn't to say it hadn't potential to be great. But I guess we can gauge what could've been with his sh through OD (Overdose).
Enough with the GD remakes already! Don't these people have an original idea in their heads? Nope just like Hollywood 😂
wait, you dont look like a vulture?
Come on, the MGS remake for the GC was trash!
The Punisher should get a re-release on Playstation! And Disney sucks and just because a game is violent! And Disney considers it not to be family friendly! Then how about all the other woke BS! Not family friendly crap they show!
The problem with licensed games is often that the rights can be really messy and split up over several parties. I don't know the specifics (contracts vary from case to case) but it's possible the rights are shared by:
1) the developer, Volition, who no longer exist (was owned by Emracer, now who knows)
2) THQ, the publisher, who no longer exist (Embracer owns/owned _most_ of their rights)
3) Marvel/Disney
4) since it ties into the movie, possibly the movie studio
5) Thomas Jane might retain rights to his voice and likeness
6) some of the music rights likely with several other companies
You get the idea...
Gauntlet, Final fight and twisted metal
I'm honestly baffled we haven't seen a new Final Fight game, since beat 'em ups have made something of a comeback on the indie side and the characters still are popular (several having been adopted by the Street Fighter series). It seems like a downloadable lower-budget Final Fight game would be easy money.
the reason that the guys from Jackass were in that game kept me away from Underground 2 since even "back then" i didn't like their "humor" and stupidity
still isnt funny tho
Comment test. Typed up a full response and it doesn't appear.
Psst
American face British voice. Still not buying it
American face 😭
