HOW TO COMPLETE AN IRONMAN | 3 Months Training
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2018
- Here is a peak at my first ever Ironman with only 3 months of training. I was a swimming at Michigan State University but since graduating, I barely swam. I was looking for a challenge to push myself mentally, physically, and spiritually and an Ironman caught my attention. Emilia Romagna in Cervia Italy fit in with my travels so I signed up! With no Ironman experience, a vegan diet, and internet resources, I trained myself to get in shape to complete a 140.6 Mile triathlon.
Leave a comment below if you have specific questions! I want to create a lot more content as I become a Vegan Ironman athlete and push myself further and set goals.

Hats off to Logan being there for his friend! Great job Spencer
Murr Plays amen him, Mike and Spencer are all some Quality Real People that’s why I fucking love them so much! ❤️
Richard Searfoss ikr, Logan’s always getting a bad rap and mike and Spencer are grouped into but I see past that bs, the podcast is so relatable and real. It’s a great group
I was just looking to I don’t even think Logan filmed this that’s dope as hell as well just being a real friend respect
Watching too much UA-cam is also a waste of energy.
Aayushman Singh no dude that’s a great way to relax
Yeah, I know. I try to keep it to five hours a day, or even less.
UA-cam is a great way to educate yourself and your not really looking at it the right way when it comes to a waste of energy
Complaining about things that waste your energy is also a waste of energy :P
It definitely is a waste of energy and time if you overdo it...and educating yourself only gets you so far if you don't put it to proper use, so to the guy saying you're not looking at it the right way....you definitely are not, there's a healthy amount of watching UA-cam but watching hours and hours every day is not healthy, especially when it's mindless stuff and yeah it's good to relax with it, but it can easily lead to laziness.
First Time Seeing this! Proud of you man. I one day plan on doing an Iron Man Challenge. This is very inspiring!
Look at how genuinely happy Logan was for you!! You have a genuine friend for life there... well done spencer you did incredible!!
Ya nothing was covered how to complete an Ironman with 3 months of training. Glad I watched to see, good job on the clickbait title.
Bro it’s the video. It all comes down to staying motivated when facing adversity like this man .
HaRdCoRe 466 what adversity?
@@evantozer first world problems...
Doesn’t say “how to train” LOL
Michelle Camara STAYING MOTIVATED! Thats how he did it.
I am doing my first Half Ironman in June, seeing this video after hitting a feeling of rock bottom and a lost for motivation really has inspired me. Thank you for this message. I am ready to achieve my goal.
i love how you used mac miller in this. made my day
I’m 21 and finished my first Ironman (Quebec). So much truth in the first two minutes of your video. I couldn’t agree more with you, brother. All the best.
ironman at 21 -that is badass!
Congrats Spencer!!! you are very inspiring. I don't know why but there is something special when you see someone push their limits and achieving their goals. Something special happens to the people going through it, watching or listening about it. Thank you!
6:27 is my favorite moment in this. To have buddies that fucking cool to celebrate your win, it’s huge. What an inner circle man. And congrats on pushing your limits, keep getting after it. Anddd gooo whiteeee
Good point, makes me realise I mostly have shitty friends.
Andres Silva I feel you man, I have one friend who motivates me.
KyleM5 should have been disqualified for that! Finish line is for athletes not friends and families
Did he win? Or finish
Finishing an IRONMAN is the best feeling of the world🙌🏽
Dude this was really sweet to see what you did here in Italy and being able to give your insight and how you were feeling. No fluff, just straight how it was. Congratulations man, that is just insane you did this. Heres to much more and hope to see more videos of you and your life. Cheers man 🙏
This is so motivating, i was crying when you crossed the finished line
I remember you on the run! I was the guy from Ukraine! Nice video man!
Spencer, this is insane. Probs to you dude. You’re an inspiration and I really mean that.
Awesome video 👍 and description about Ironman, Highly Motivated.🔥
Hey man super happy for you I have my triathlon in June in LA. And watching this video is great inspiration to keep pushing and not just for triathlons but for goals and setting high goals. Great positivity!!
The key to T2: Get out of transition fast enough so you can't think about the fact that you are about to run a marathon.
You have to train the mind the most. You can train your body as much as you want but if you aren’t mentally prepared you will never reach your bodies limits.
I have the same thought process as you. My first sprint was last year, am doing the Herbal tri in LA this year - an Olympic. Once I complete that - am going for half iron man. Consistently throwing myself in the deep - its an amazing exercise of evolution. Am having new breakthroughs everyday. I don't think there is anything remotely close that is so gratifying. Keep moving forward #berelentless
Mayur Sanghvi fuck Herbalife
Incredible video! Absolutely amazing inspiration. To everyone out there, keep going & don’t stop! Life is a marathon, not a sprint 🔥🔥
Got me on the title. Stayed for the story. Good work!
Watching you finish the race with your friends there running beside you, cheering you on and supporting you legit brought TEARS to my eyes. What a moment! What an accomplishment!! Congrats!
my dad did two and would have done a fourth if he hadn’t hurt his back and needed surgery. completing this is ode of the most physically and mentally demanding things a person can do. i have serious respect for anyone who can do this
that moment when you finished your ironman and logan and all your friends celebrated with you
I felt this deep
80% mental - 20% physical - Amazing - Congratulations bro
I'm really happy how Logan no matter how busy or famous he was had been there for his friend when not really anyone was there to support him ..
I would die. Lol. Congratulations man, that's awesome. Logan and your other buddy seem like good friends. To wait out all day with you cheering you on and jumping the fence to support you, that's awesome.
Such a huge encouragement! I love this!! Great training and life advice!!
Super impressive! I really liked your commentary in the beginning of the video too. I've done 2 half ironmans but haven't had enough time to train for the full and not sure I have the balls for it.
Awesome video ! The footage, editing, and music is on point.
How to complete an Ironman on 12 weeks of training: Reduce typical IM training calendar by 60%. Race, feel like hell, most likely DNF or get injured. Possibly both.
keep watching this sitting on your couch, doing nothing
@@MartinoxxHD Couch? Right...15 years racing, 3 full IM's, over 15 - 70.3, and approx 70 other tri's. If you need help reaching a PR, let me know and I'll charge you triple what I charge my cool clients.
@@murraywebb8070 Sure, 100% real no fake.
sorry but I think you are wrong :) ..I'm training for my second full IM..6 months training time..and I'll be doing it without water or food..it's possible. stop being salty :)
@@MartinoxxHD says the one who streams vid games.
First i would drown, then i would need a nap after like 30mins i woul fall of the bike and my legs would die and last my whole body would die and you have to pic my corpus of the flor... SO RESPECT SPENCER
haha You got it in you ;)
Awesome video Spencer!! I'm glad that now you have your own channel, now only filming Logan's video! This really motivates me, I'm really thinking about running a marathon! Love it! Thx for the content!
Do it!!! You're welcome :)
hey dude. congrats. All the message/thoughts you had in this video are exactly my own. I'm training for my second attempt at doing a full IM without water and food. I'm confident I can do it and I'm glad to see another person striving to achieve what noone has achieved before him.
My sincere congratulations and good luck :)
Congrats on finishing your first Ironman! It’s the journey, never the destination. Way to go and onto the next. Nice job Spencer!
I did my first IM also with 3 Months of preperation but there are some points why this wasnt the best idea:
1. In the 3 months I was completely into the sport - no time for nothing - even every free minute I have to buy equipment (bike, swimming gear,,, nutrition and so on)
2. i finihsed in around 12:24 - but i raced the save way so that there was no chance that i will DNF.
3. 1 year ago a ran a marathon in 4:24 - so i was in a good shape ( no kg to much on my body...) and before the 3 months specific ironman training i did the mark lauren 90 day program 2 times - so i had alot of mucles to prevent injuries and also some stamina through the training
- i would say its possible but only without injuries if your muscles are well trained - so if you want to finish the IM in 3 months (if you dont like to train 1 year ...) be sure that you use the winter months to strengthen your muscles...
Such an awesome dude. Keep making more of these videos spencer !
Rad vid man, remember watching it when it first came out. Inspired me to make one after i did my first IM too (unfortunately didn't have anyone filming me lol)
Dude I'm so glad you made a channel! Honestly I can relate myself to you so much, you have so much positivity and I hope you continue to help and inspire people! Much love..
Can you please do videos on meditation veganism and just you daily routine. Great job man!!!
NIce! im doing my first half ironman in a few weeks, look forward to tackling the full this year as well. :) grats
Soo glad you have a channel
This video is so realistic. Loved your enthusiasm. Loved your goal setting. Totally loved how you did not give up no matter how exhausted & the best was your friend cheering for you in the finish line! Wow! My friends would look into my statistics lol.
Thanks for making this video ! So inspiring, also i loved all the music u used hehe
Incredible! Good work Spence! It's been such a joy training with you!
Dude, how did you get all of that footage? Obviously I can see some of it is filmed by whoever is with you but loads is during the race. All the on course cycling and drone stuff above the swim start? I ask because I have IM Copenhagen later this year and am looking to do similar but no idea how to get the good footage. Any help appreciated. Cheers

I'm 13 I finished a Olympic distance triathlon.... I really really think I can do a half iron triathlon after seeing this! ... With some more practice OFC.... But this is really inspiring!
Hell yeah man! Get it.
Loved the video man, great effort. Congrats!
Wow you are very insightful. Your companionship will be very good for Logan. Please don't leave the guy's side, he needs more people like you in his life :)
7:43 good form, keep it up! I dream to complete an ironman in the future
I do triathlon for 15 years now, also IM distance.
Dont train like that guy. Build up over time so you have lesser chance of permanent damage.
Besides - its not only the race, it's the way towards it and how its gonna change you in a positive way. You wont get that experience in a few months otherwise.
People taking more than 13 hours should not participate anyway (unless they have a handicap or are old) because it's not a race anymore but some sort of walking to the finish line...
Cutoff times are a joke these days.
0:55 - 1:10 so true.
thanks Spencer for the motivation!
wow man right on! much respect
You did it man!!! The champion 💪💪💪💪🏋️🏋️🏋️
Hey man, i am from Belgium, i think you are so inspiring for everyone , your words make me think deeply about everythink in life, so thank you !

i dont understand how anyone could dislike this video
"This is how you run a marathon.
Step 1. You start running
There is no step 2."

Bro thank you for sharing this! I hate distance running but I actually feel like giving an Ironman a go after watching this! 💪👌
