Been waiting for this for a long time but damn that intro got me.
Rest In Peace, Mrs. Bare!
Same here.
The ending got to me
I bet your mom is SUPER FUN. Up in heaven watching the iron man. Stay up ! Whoop 🙌
When you passed me on the run I tried to speed up to catch you, but my legs weren’t having it. VERY impressive for your first tri. 💪
CabinDweller9 how old are you?
The few The proud Almost twice Nick’s age. He had a great pace for any age in an Ironman.
CabinDweller9 wow I never saw that you replied. Due to Covid-19 I decided I wanna train for the 70.3. I’m not ready for the full Ironman. How long did it take you to do the bike part. BTW I’m a novice at this.
RESPECT! 💪
@@CabinDweller9 a reminder that someone is waiting for your reply
Your mum would be proud of you mate. Really enjoyed following the journey on becoming an Ironman. You smashed it bro 👊🏻
Didn’t expect to see the madman himself here
God bless you ally law
My guy ally
Respect
You’re likely to not see this. But nick let me tell you, this broke my heart, I watched your videos for just around 2 weeks now and the inspiration you give me is incredibly. I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Just know that there are thousands that look up to you for inspiration, that she raised a good man. She was more than proud of you.
Facts, this hit home for me too. My mom is a cancer survivor, so I can imagine the journey your mom went through. Any mom would be so proud to see their son doing what you’re doing!
You did great, I was the dude at your MILE 24 when your hamstring started cramping.. you finished strong.. Good job dude..
“The pain you’ve been feeling cannot compare to the joy that is coming” Romans 8:18. Praying for you and your family Nick!
Chyna DeadDoll praying for ya Chyna!!!!
@Chyna DeadDoll keep fighting and all the best. I hope you feel better. No pain, no ailing. 😔
@Chyna DeadDoll never give up, go speak to a friend ..pain is always temporary please remember that.
dadondutta how long is temporary?
Chyna DeadDoll Keep pushing I’m praying for you🙏🏾
Time to give David Goggins a call. Ultramarathon Training.
Jozhua Mendoza Thats right time for him to go train with David Goggins!!!!
I just ran my first triathlon today at 40yrs old and 2yrs sober. I never thought I would ever attempt something. I'm hooked. And now crying. What a great video man. My mom died from an 8yr battle with breast cancer when I was 14. I can relate allot to your story. Thank you brother. Awesome video.
how long did you train for it? and were you fit before you trained, or were you starting as a beginner?
@@ARMYALEX1869 I started running after 3 months before my first triathlon after smoking cigs and doing drugs for 25yrs. I had no swim experience and I owned a Trek hybrid I never rode. So basically I was as new as you could get with zero fitness. I swam 6 times before my first sprint tri. On race day the swim was brutal. However, one year later I completed a full Ironman in Chattanooga September this year. I spent 8 months of dedicated training. Learning to swim 2.4 miles was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I completed in 13:49 with 2 flat tires and 6 GI stops on the run.
I went from complete newbie to Ironman Finisher in a year. I’m a nobody. I have no talent at it. I just worked my ass off and crossing the finish line was one of the best feelings in my life. Anyone can do this sport. Just takes commitment and a lot of time…
@@koryjensen8610 Wow man!
@@koryjensen8610 very impressive! Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment!
@@ARMYALEX1869 15-20 hours week, there is a lot to learn, particularly open-water swimming which can be intimidating no matter how much you think you can swim.
I love how there’s all these cardio focused people and then there’s just this big muscular dude killin it
You try lifting weights without a heart, let me know how you get on!
Respect to everyone finishing an IM, but 11:28 is certainly not killin it. Not killin anyhtin, in fact.
@@freeridefried It's pretty good for a lump like that.
Andrew Grenville Finishing an IM is an achievement in any case. However, the above comment says that he is killin it - in the cardio people’s face. That is just complete nonsense. Sorry.
@@freeridefried There's no such thing as non-cardio exercise anyway so the whole discussion is a nonsesne invented by gyms. I am just saying he's not built to do Ironman so it's quite a good result.
I lost my Mom to cancer in 2010.... Most of the time I'm strong when I talk about her, and what I went through... But your intro got me this morning... I'm sorry for your loss Nick, your not alone with what you and your family went through. She's in a better place, and I'm sure she's very proud with everything her Son has accomplished in life, and enduring the Ironman training and event all in HER name. Great job on this chapter of your Life Nick, the Ironman prep was very inspirational, thanks for sharing your journey!
Same here, that part really got me and reminded me of how strong my mother was
I lost my dad to cancer when I was in junior year of high school. I gained a lot of weight in 2 years. Then in April of 2019 I got my stuff together and went to the AF recruiter. I was 6’3 270lb, now I’m 19 and 175lb! I attribute a lot of it to my fam.
shoulda joined marines
do they just let u in with 270lb? or did u managed to pass the tests?
Your mom was with you this whole time, brother. During prep, during the race, everything. I'm positive you make her beyond proud. God bless.
❤❤😊
In honor of your mom bro! She was a lovely person and her strength, love and amazingness can be seen through you and your hard work. God bless and keep going one more for her. Cheer my friend.
Amen to that!
Who tf disliked this video...smh. I nearly cried when he talked about his mom
ya I know right "bad editing too long, dislike" like wtf.
Adam i did.
Adam cry
Dude me too, as well as when he finished his wife was running over to him... and I like never cry. Anyone who disliked this video is sick in the head. Imo one of his top videos.
Dear Nick,
Inspired by this video, two weeks ago I completed my first Ironman, first triathlon, and first marathon on the same event. Ironman Cozumel 2021.
I documented the process and there’s a documentary from 0 to Ironman coming out.
Thanks for the inspiration my man.
Greetings from Mexico.
Anybody else cry at this? Your mum will be so proud of all the lives your touching mate.
Been waiting for this video. While no slouch, I've dropped my weight from 350 to 175 this channel has inspired me to start my path again. Former paratrooper and I just signed up for my first half marathon... Baby steps. Thanks Nick!
Who is cutting onions ? I had to wash my eyes
Never got so many likes haha thanks guys. Love from Holland ✌️
Same lol I wasn't expecting that
It hit me real quick.. I wouldn't say I'm a super fan but I feel like I know Nick and thinking about his experiences and life and my family really makes a impact
Me too... you’re amazing nick.
This got me hard! 😭😭
I’m so sorry for your loss Nick, and I had no idea about your motivation prior to your Ironman series. It’s inspiring! And It’s been really fun watching your progress with Trainiacs.
I'm so sorry to hear brother. My dad is going through cancer... Keep getting after it, you're truly inspiring.
Respect Nick🙏🏽
I started crying right at the beginning when you were talking about your mum. Rest in paradise Mrs. Bare🙏🏽
Everything about this is 🔥🔥
Yeah his mom dying due to cancer isn’t very 🔥🔥🔥
I'm really going through it and working out HARD every day has been helpful. It reminds me that I'm mentally tough when I start to doubt it. Really really really don't feel like doing it today and this has totally turned that around. Thanks for making this.
You crushed it!!!! You are a true inspiration man really proud of you!!! That intro and other clips of you talking about your mom really hit home, I lost my grandmother last month to stage 4 lymphoma and your words are so true and really hit home for me!!! The people that fight these disease’s are true warriors and truly embraced the suck and kept the families strong thank you for these words of encouragement and may their memories live with us forever!!
Nick, you’re an inspiration bro. I recently lost my three month old daughter on October 13th. You doing this for your mom makes me want to do something for my daughter. She was a fighter and a warrior. Thank you so much for all of your motivational content. It means a lot.
Zachary Henn 🙏🏽
You know you did good when you were aiming to do it in 12-13 hours and do it in 11 hours and 28 minutes💯
Sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Mrs. Bare. Thanks for sharing
Awesome dude. As I sit here 8 months away from my first IM I relate to your story with both my dad passing from Cancer and my mum getting through it. But it gives you that mental toughness to keep going when every part of your body is saying STOP. Looking forward to seeing what you do next man.
Ironman, everytime I see someone become one it fills my eyes with tears and I have a huge respect for them. You did it nick, a hugh respect to you IRONMAN.
You’re great. I recently started training for a 70.3 Ironman just for watching your videos. Thanks for that!
I've cried during this whole video, this is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your moms story and this emotional, incredible experience.
Been watching your IronMan training videos for a while, congratulations on your first IronMan Nick, and may your mother Rest In Peace ❤️

My condolences to you and your family my... Loosing mom is really tuff, may her soul rest easy 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

That intro was powerful. RIP Linda!
Jordan did an amazing job. Looking forward to the future videos
Good Job! Liked this series a lot. Crazy to see that the winner finished the whole race in 7 hours and 46 minutes.
Terribly sorry for your loss Nick! Recently found your channel. You are a huge inspiration.
I know I’ve never done this but had to leave another comment..the love you and your mother display is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this personal moment. You’ve touched my life and I’m so sorry for your loss. You are truly inspiring!
I haven't even lost my mom yet but this made me tear up man I love your hard and dedication to this race for your mom good work
I set a alarm to watch this man
Nick your words were exactly the unspoken thoughts i've been trying to find & put together with the same obstacles both are moms went through. Thank You from the very very most genuine heart thats needed inspiration for the past 3 years and for someone who understands that cancer patients pain compares to no other pain.
gosh Nick this beginning of this video took my breath away. Rest In Peace to her sweet soul! Your training and dedication to what you love puts you on another level to see the best in every situation such as your mothers, and you inspire me a lot. Have a great day brother
I’m so glad I randomly found your channel a few weeks ago and got to track you across the finish line for this. Keep grinding my man. RIP Mama Bare
Im running my first 10k next month!!
All your videos make me so excited for it!!
Lets goo babbyyyy

I've been through a lot, I went from very healthy to very sick in a matter of days. It taught me a lot, I see your video as a huge inspiration. A lot of people told me I could not do the things that I am doing right now. Nowadays I am building strength again and soon I hope to be able to start running, because I could not do that due to my high heart rate, one day I hope to be doing as well as you are doing.
In those few moments you shared of your mom, her life touched me. God Bless you and your family. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Bare. True Fighter!
I was in tears on the intro!
“One step further than an Ironman” ultra marathon hint? 🧐😳
At this point who knows what he will pull. He’s a mad man

So happy for you mate.
I had a tear watching this as my mum passed away from the cancer also and I often think of her will running.
I was waiting for this to be posted wondering how you went. Thanks for sharing you were amazing.
Can’t wait to see what you do next.
Man in parts this hit me right in the feels!! 😓 such a good series and truly inspiring. Congrats
Congratulations man! This whole video gave me chills. I’ve enjoyed following your Ironman journey. You got me even more pumped for my first Ironman in April. Thanks for the inspiration!
Wow! I am so amazed of the journey you went through and I’m so happy to see you finish and exceed your goals. Much love to your mom.
so sorry for your loss. my heartfelt condolences. may you find peace.
It’s been an absolute pleasure to watch you achieve your goals man. You’re truly blessed to have such a great support system in your girlfriend and friends. You truly have something special going on, and I’m sure you have one very proud mama in heaven. Keep killing it man. Awesome job.
Loved this man. So emotional and inspirational.
This was a true inspiration to Men all around the world who have lost someone very close and dear to them. To be able to push through your emotions and dedicate such a challenging event to your mother is one of the many things I’ve been honored to have witnessed from you Nick. God bless you and keep challenging yourself during every step of your life!
Such a badass, inspiring, and emotional video! Rest In Peace to your Mom 🙏 You definitely showed that courage and strength to keep pushing. Good shit man .
So weird that in a few clips at the start you can tell how positive and how much good energy your mom had- what kind of person she was. May she rest in peace. Awesome work bro.
That scene with you in the dark getting hyped was it man. Love the fire
"There's no pain" that's the statement that can sum up the entire video. Such as an inspiration Nick!! Following u from Spain -.-
Nick I sympathize with you as I went through the same thing about 17 yrs ago with my Mother. I'm sure she was very proud of you and that her memory will continue to inspire you. Take care.
My most sincere condolences. I lost my father when I was 21 years old to alcoholism, addiction and eventually organ failure. Keep inspiring us.
I feel you man. My mom passed away in 2007 when I was 20 due to cancer. Your mom is proud of you for sure. She will always be with you...
I’m so happy for you Nick. You are an inspiration to anyone trying to improve themselves. I’m so amazed at your grit and determination. Nothing ever seems too big to you. And you take on all of these challenges with such grace, class, and positivity. Your mother would be so proud. Keep on attacking the world, excited to see what’s next!
One of your best videos. Hard to share personal things of that nature but we all really appreciate it. Gets me fired up for ironman training myself. Thanks
Pretty impressive. I ran my first marathon age 46 with time 4 hours got cramps in muscles i didn't know i had so i can't imagine what u went through with biking and swiming. Congratulations and my condolences for your mom. Great inspiration!
Nick,
This is absolutely incredible man. I’ve used the “embrace the suck” mentality ever since I enlisted. It’s carried me a long way throughout my career in the military.
Within the last year, that mentality started slowly fading away. I started blaming others for my deficiencies, flaws, and lack of success. After watching you go through this journey, knowing EXACTLY what has been your drive and motivation, I can say wholeheartedly that I have never felt so alive. There is so much to life and staying “satisfied” isn’t enough for me. I want to push myself to limits I haven’t even dreamed of but it all starts with accepting the fact that everyday is going to suck. Thank you for bringing my mind and spirit back to where it needed to be. You’re a true inspiration, sir.
R.I.P Mrs. Bare.
What a great video! Your mom is proud of you. I am watching that while fighting an advanced ovarian cancer.
Keep on, get better day by day, inspiring and driven man!
Congratulations, I'm sure your mother wherever she may be is really proud of you. The way you took the hit life gave you is truly inspiring! God Bless You
Thanks for inspiring all of us brother. I am so sorry for your loss
One of the single greatest UA-cam videos I have ever watched. Inspirational beyond measure. Congrats!
Dude I’m so sorry for you loss. Had no idea. I lost my dad two years ago and it doesn’t get easier. Keep pushing keep striving and when we run and train I like to think they are right next to us.
Sorry for your loss Nick, may she rest in peace. Thank you for making genuine, motivational and informative content, keep up the good work!!
This made me hella emotional to watch. Thanks for the inspiration. Running a half marathon in 36 hours and this definitely pushed
congrats Nick! There's no feeling like crossing the finish line in a Ironman! Your Mom was with you from beginning to end! Awesome!
Congratulations. I’ve really enjoyed watching this journey. Thank you for documenting this.
Sorry for your loss of your mom...she is proud of you...you are a true fighter..thanks for all inspiration you are doing for me ,thanks Nick
Love This Man! Made me happy! I appreciate everything you do! Can’t wait to see what’s coming!
R.I.P Mrs. Bare!
This was such an inspirational video! Your mom would be so proud❤ I’m training for my first Ironman now and love watching your videos!
So sorry about your mom 🙏 massive respect for pushing through and training to your fullest. Great job
Brilliant vid!!! I've loved following your Ironman journey. Im an ex Infantry soldier of the British Army and im also training for my first Ironman so every vid you posted keeps me training that little bit harder 💪 Congrats Bro👍
Nick, my sincerest condolences. Honestly, I mean it with all my heart.
20:32 Really got to me. A moment of relief, some sort of comfort, immense pride, and great emotion waving through me. Thank you for the journey brother. It's been an honor of following, and supporting you throughout.
Hey Nick, greetings from Germany. I found your videos a few months back while I was looking for Ironman Preps guides. I have been following them ever since. Watching this video was a bit diffrent though, my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer in the begining of March. Sadly the cancer was so aggressive that it spread to her heart and she passed away 3 weeks later. A month later I signed up for the Ironman. Hearing what you had to say about your mom and what everyone with cancer is going through really hit home for me. It was exactly what has been going theough my mind since April. Your story has inspired me even more than I was allready. Thanks for all your hard work, keep rocking it and making awsome content. "Lass es krachen ;-)"
I’m not even going to lie, I literally broke down watching this video! I’m proud of you dude!
I wept
I had been looking for a competitive event all year after being done with sports. So thank you for lighting the fire! I found it!
Good stuff brother!! I too lost my mother to ovarian cancer (albeit many years ago)! I'm 55, and doing my first Ironman in November, also PCB! Thanks a ton for putting this video together. You showing all of the prep definitly helps ease some anxiety! Cheers
The way you honour your mom is beyond touching. What a journey you've completed. Respect from Norway.
Thanks for the morning tears... So inspiring 💜
Thanks for uploading this! I fell into a little rut with my Ironman training with how busy life gets with work and kids etc.
Similarly my wife’s uncle just passed away of cancer and I have 2 friends right now who are battling it.
Thanks for the boost in motivation and congratulations! Hopping on the bike now 💪
You are a beast, nick. Seeing you accomplish such amazing feats through such horrible hardships like losing your mother is very inspiring. I know the pain that cancer can cause a family and I know you’re in pain. Good on you for turning that pain into aggression and energy towards a goal.
Celebrating the strength and spirit that is your mom. Blessing and comfort to you and your family, Nick. You are loved.
Been watching you since before Korea. Congrats dude you made your mom proud
Watching you “embrace the suck” really motivates me to push myself to my limits, because I know that my level of sucking is nothing compared to yours. RIP Mrs Bare. We love you nick
Hi guys :)
I wanted to update you that I’m already into working on some new videos- here’s some topics to look forward to:
-Cereal Culture(it’s like a sequel to pop culture)
-Oak Island Money Pit (just a really interesting true story that takes place in Nova Scotia)
-I mean I wrote so much about corn it’d be dumb not to do one on corn I guess, I just don’t understand the premise of it
-Every Video Game Ever (informative skit thing)
I’m really excited about these - they trail a bit more into the informative videos you guys seem to like, so I hope you’ll like em too.
Also thank you for the support on the plushies and the video I just released- I know it’s not fair to slap with you guys with a video basically dedicated to merch, but it felt like the last time I released the plushies a lot of people weren’t aware, so I wanted
To give you guys one more chance to try and get them. So thank you for sticking with me and more animated
Videos come soon-
I also have a bunch of footage of me animating a running loop of GingerPale using embroidery, but after seeing a bunch of comments of people being not so nice about the latest video being not animated- even though it was made by my friends over at NeverCake and THEY DID AMAZING :’) - I’m not sure it will fit on the channel, so if I decide to still finish it I’ll probably just put it up on GpApi. We’ll see tho- just wasn’t feelin the bullying today so I don’t want to disappoint again with another not fully animated video - idk we’ll see
I will go draw now :>
Thanks again
You inspire my training so much Nick, thank you.
So heart felt. I started tearing up as I lost my mom to cancer last year as well. Being a cancer survivor myself, I know the battle and journey how hard it may be. I embrace everyday as if it were my last and live for myself and my family to the best I can. I'm all with you brother. Let's keep it going forward for our moms. Thank you for sharing your journey in becoming an IronMan.
