Funny... Russo said this ish the 1st month AEW started. He said in the end, it's still a wrestling promotion, bro. Wrestlers are gonna be wrestlers and Tony Khan is not a Vince McMahon. He called it as well.
Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. At least WCW helped create a golden era of wrestling with the variety show they had from 96-98. That being said, AEW is still a VERY young company. They haven't hit their 4 year mark yet. So these may be just bad growing pains. I'm hoping that's what it is because I still think they have a lot of potential. But, they have to work a lot of stuff. They don't have the same power in their inertia that WWE does. They can't afford to go too far or they'll be gone. Look at WCW. If you had said to somebody in late 97, or even late 98, WCW not only will become a distant second to WWF shortly but they'll also cease to exist by spring 01, you'd have probably been laughed at.
Well, he has already said he doesn't really keep up with people and doesn't like talking to people often, so doubtful he give you much wisdom, or anything else at all.
The fact TK was head of Football Recruitment at Fulham, spent £100 mil plus a couple of seasons ago and they couldn’t win a game shows how he’s just a rich daddy’s boy. AEW has no storylines anymore, major problems with talent. The show is a car crash waiting to happen.

Inexplicable is the perfect word for the MJF situation. This guy is clearly a generational talent. He may be the biggest talent since Dwayne Johnson. AEW needs what it never had, organic growth. Many former wrestling fans says this all the time, it looks like the product is forced on you by the IWC. Ask AEW fan why they like the product, they all say the same thing. It looks like they are not even thinking for themselves. People might not like this but, this is the reason why TNA had better organic growth in its prime years. People seek out TNA. And each had a different reason why they liked it. Ask any former wrestling fan how they first watched TNA. They had to really seek it out, even some by torrent. AEW was IWC forcing this as must watch TV, and when they saw it for the first time, even with 14,000 fans in attendance it still didn't feel organic. Hence why a lot stopped watching after the very first show and the attendance numbers were never close to the same.
AEW has brought back kay-fabe.... Everything they do seems like a work and then it doesn't get put in a storyline n comes out that it was a shoot... Must be a crazy locker room to be that petty.

I keep thinking it’s a work because seems every week these non planned shoots and backstage altercations are happening. But I agree there’s a pattern. Cody left and the common denominator is the “EVPs” Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. These clowns are causing chaos in AEW and making pro wrestling look like a joke in the process. Tony Khan is an absolute joke as the leader of a wrestling company. Just goes to prove because you are a nerd with money doesn’t mean you should be running a wrestling company. All this proves the Turner networks should force AEW to hire a real general manager that can control the inmates and not let them run the asylum. Sad thing is AEW has so much potential but Tony is the one holding them back from reaching that full potential.
it's no question that AEW is all f'd up, but for this guy to act like his own talent didn't go to his office threatening him for firing a friend, and so how wrestlers calling each other names is lack of leadership. hart and Michaels ripped off each other's hair in the back, Hogan and Nash went off script every week on live TV at the height of the wolfpack. the only difference is that now wrestling has alot more eyes on it, as far as people that cover it for social media news, so these things are being caught now, where konann himself said on his podcast that he himself has seen alot of things in the back, that would cause wrestlers to get canceled. it happened in wwf and in WCW, waaaaaay before the Russo era started.
