I don't know why they've abandoned this sound in their recenet albums. I loved everthing these guys played back in the days, probably up until head left.. Without head I could understand why they didn't play like in the old days, but even after he got back they never returned to the old sound. I dont mean they should write the same way like in the 90s and copy themselves, but its just the sound, the tune, the heaviness.. It's totally viped out in recent albums.
I kinda always thought they are two parts of one body, of one guitar player. Separated they aren't something special, but together they're SPECIAL. One starts a riff, the other finishes it, giving something new, but still staying in the same groove, same wavelength.. Like they're one mind. You don't find that kind of chemistry in no other band.
Jure Primorac yea I thought only one song was good off heads solo album. They just mesh! Me and me old bands lead guitarist had this but on a of course less amazing scale. Shit just clicked like finishing another persons sentence. I've never seen it more then these two!
This is why Korn always comes up with awesome music, these guys can turn any noise the guitar makes into something, then comes John, with his unique voice, then Fieldy with his bass slapping then David with the groove drumming. 👌
But david will always be in my head,...im a fan since im 12-13,.1998-99,..and i just luv the records till take a look...... for me,david is still in band,..
@@wm1573 I mean I can appreciate that but it doesn’t have to be crazy insane complex shredding but I just feel like they are so much more talented than they put out. They are obviously going for a certain sound and they’ve nailed it for like 30 years but I just kinda wish a lot of their stuff wasn’t mostly relient on crazy effects and pedals. When you take all that away, the actual chords and chord progression is almost like hardly any effort was put into it. Y’a know? I love korn, I grew up on korn but I wanna see what these guys can really do.
@@greenblackswerl yes I see that too. but isn't that the case with most electric guitar riffs? Take away the amp / pedals and it sounds like shit 😂 at least for metal / heavier music. I don't think It would really fit Korn if they tried something technical. That's the "bad" thing being in a band that has that established sound that people want. You really "can't" experiment. If you look at faith no more. They just do what ever they want and people will like it because the listeners don't really have any certain expectations.
